  1. Sandy's version of the Dylan classic.
  2. From what I've read over the years in newspapers and online. Like many countries, paedophiles and child killers are considered scum by fellow inmates in Thailand with often fatal consequences.
  3. Two types of red shirts imo, though there may be more. 1.: The grassroots who love Thaksin and his populist policies. 'It's the economy, stupid. Oh! and Yingluk's so cute too, yeah, love ' em. Not so keen on Ink though ' 2. The democrat loving red shirts who now must become orange, bright or blood, or some other shade. At a wild guess I would say the ratio of group 1 to 2 is 80% to 20%
  4. When you've been rich beyond belief, had the freedom to fly anywhere in the world anytime you want (bar Covid), buy anything you want, etc, then to wake up in a room and realize you can't just walk out the door might create a kind of pressure on oneself. 'What in God's name have I done?
  5. Jatuporn has done time at least twice. Since his disillusion with Thaksin and Pheu Thai, he's become a popular pundit in Thai media. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jatuporn_Prompan
  6. Musing on this. Thaksin is sure he's got a cast iron deal. He wouldn't come back otherwise. In his hand he holds 141 MPs. They've done what they've been told, they've joined the junta backers. So is there any reason the deal could fall through? Well, in the past, high profile prisoners like Kamnan Poh spent his/ their jail term in a very nice private hospital, but it was kept quiet. It wasn't a public issue. Unlike Toni's case where every heartbeat is big news. The point being the double standards on display are obvious to the entire Thai population. Plus you've got those petitioning against double standards and others insisting Thaksin should be prosecuted for less majeste in 2015. Not so good for public unity, or indeed the image of the 'good people' when blatant favouritism is on display. Maybe the elite don't care, but they might, and it would do no harm to keep Toni confined, just to make sure his MPs do what they're told, plus it would satisfy those protesting at double standards.
  7. The man will not survive long in a Thai jail, as it should be.
  8. Nattawut too.
  9. Thaksin said they suffocated because they were weak from fasting at Ramadan
  10. He doesn't care, he's been made Minister of Health. A nice reward for someone who campaigned passionately against PT teaming up with the junta parties. Deception, dear doctor. How many people voted for PT because you vouched the party would never join with the uncles?. 'An honest mistake', no doubt .
  11. A lecturer at Chuka uploaded a post showing Pheu Thai criticising Prayuth's government for appointing Thammanat Prompao, to the Cabinet. Then, hey! Pheu Thai do the same thing! Pass the sick bag, Alice.
  12. More great acting from Ink. We will not join with coup makers' .
  13. The coup leaders! Drinks all round
  14. He's doing his best to sedate the masses now under a pseudo democracy where the military still call the shots ( pun intended). Actually, he never cared for democracy, (look at his party, run entirely by himself). He once said, " Democracy is not my goal, the happiness of the people is.' Meaning offer the peasants a few sops whilst the capitalists and old order still rule. Things have changed,Thaksin. Your authoritarian CEO style has run its course. Move out of the way, Move Forward are coming through
  15. Padipat's cases are indeed trivial but opponents of MF will do everything to derail them. The holding a beer in a photo was utter stupidity on Padipat's part. Cases of prosecution of celebrities clutching beers received wide publicity in the recent past. As for using his allowance to buy barbecue pork for the staff at Parliament, he should have checked the legality of his action first. If Padipat loses his post, MF will have nothing. Imo better to assume the role of an effective opposition and take up the role.
  16. Another case Padipat faces. https://thepattayanews.com/2023/08/21/move-forward-deputy-house-speaker-in-new-controversy-over-bbq-party/
  17. Take it Pita, you automatically get a place on many parliamentary committees, and you're going to lose the Deputy Speaker's position because Padipat posed with a beer on social media.
  18. After May they lose the right to select the PM but they remain until replaced. Some one up on the law can stipulate what happens if a bill is introduced replacing the senators with elected ones. Can the existing senators vote post May to deny that?
  19. The public might well be able to judge if he's sitting up in bed, smiling, busy on his phone.
  20. Oh no! What will Pheu Thai do if Thaksin is charged with less majeste, and found guilty? Could there be a rapid U-turn on their 112 Article policy?
  21. But PT couldn't wait because: 1 Its owner wants to come home 2. PT want to be in power, never mind who with and to hell with their promises to voters.. It's illegal to intentionally deceive voters in Thailand.. If someone can prove PT had every intention of teaming up with the junta uncles before the election, they should be dissolved.
