  1. Nothing to do with it, lots of native speakers trip up over the word too.
  2. I don't know why so many people have problems spelling lose, losing and loser. They lost to MF for gawd's sake. They boasted how they would win by a landslide but they got.nearly four and a half million less votes than MF That is called losing. The dark horse, the underdog won and now the loser is smarting.
  3. Settha is new to politics, as such his opinion is worthless, as is the good doctor supposedly the leader of PT. The only opinion that counts in PT is Thaksin and he's desperate to return before he expires.
  4. Thaksin controlling his underlings from abroad. 'I've gotta come back, gotta come back. Vote for Pravit as PM!'
  5. Ask Jim, he's convinced Thaksin is coming back on his birthday
  6. No, no! He's looking at his watch to see if it's time to wake up.
  7. A coup can be bloodless because the population don't fight back but it's a seizure of power by use of force. That is violence.
  8. I wouldn't assume he has 188 MPs on his side. A minority government wouldn't survive long before being forced to call an election. Then those MPs who voted for him may fear for their seats. I can't see the Democrats and many Bhumjaithai MPs going along with this. Unless PT changed sides
  9. From Wikipedia - The 250-person Senate is composed of 194 members selected by the ruling junta. Fifty senators represent 10 professional and social groups: bureaucrats, teachers, judges, farmers, and private companies. A shortlist of 200 were proposed to the NCPO which made the final selection of fifty. The remaining six Senate positions are reserved for the supreme commander of the Armed Forces, the defence permanent secretary, the national police chief, and the heads of the army, navy, and air force, who are all senators ex officio.[4] As of 2020, military or police officers make up the Senate
  10. Meanwhile, some conservatives are getting in a tizz about the three finger salute of Thai volleyball players yesterday. Chill out bros, it's just a signal between players, ( they lost 3-0). 555
  11. You've been taking too much of Anuthin's devil's lettuce
  12. I thought Thaksin didn't have any friends.
  13. Because no one wanted to get shot. Should Yingluck have challenged Prayuth to some arm wrestling? If I come round to your house with a gun and tell you to do everything I say, am I committing a serious crime? Yes, I'm clearly threatening violence, perhaps death If I come round to your house empty handed and tell you to do everything I say, am I committing a serious crime? No, I'm being a pain in the backside and perhaps mentally ill. A coup is a violent act because it threatens injury or death if resisted..
  14. If the coup was not violent, Prayuth should have come empty handed and politely asked the politicians to have a chat. People only obeyed him because he had weapons which by their nature threaten violence
  15. Pita getting a rapturous reception at Thai women's volleyball match with Turkey
  16. I don't think you can include the Democrats, they've always hated PT, plus with a new leader they may vote with MF. No, if PT want their owner home, they're going to have to accept the watch collector and his merry military backers. Let's see่ how well that goes down with the public
  17. PT have ten less MPs than MF but far fewer votes for Party List MPs 14 million for MF, 10 million for PT
  18. PT pledged not to work with military backed parties.
  19. Essential but depressing reading https://twitter.com/bangkoklad/status/1673715296140681219?s=19
  20. I really hope MF and PT can resolve this issue. It would be a tragedy and massive disappointment for the 24 million voters who want change in LOS if MF ended up in the opposition, twiddling their thumbs as 4 years go by. Those voters will not forgive their respective parties for letting this opportunity slip through their hands. The conservative forces will try every trick to bar Pita and even MF, that is largely out of MF's hands and the public understand that, but to fail because MF and PT fall at the first hurdle is unforgivable for both parties.
  21. You're including the senators but once the PM is elected, their powers fade regarding the day to day running of parliament. And next June their time is up
  22. The problem with announcing changing the National Day now is it's meat to the conservative forces who will seize on it as an example of MF's desire to overthrow everything. traditional in Thailand. One doesn't have to be Einstein to understand the intention behind the removal of monuments commemorating Thai democracy in recent years, as a consequence MF should wait until they're securely in power, imo
