  1. Hmmm didn't think of sea paper ......though it might pick up the dirt a bit easily and not like cleaning.

As a matter of fact I mounted a Japanese piece of art on saa paper on canvas recently.....the same sort of thing writ small could be good.

In any case I chose some fabric and am trying to decide whether or not to use the reverse side. What you think guys.

Oh I found just the place for lampshades in BT they make only shades for all the lamp makers.......only 300 bt for a 18 inch shade recovered.

Metropolitian I would avoid pleats again they'll pick up the dust.

If I have fabric spare which I likely will you're welcome.

Will send pics from iPad in a few mins.

  2. I have a pretty large elegant table lamp I'd like to use.

The shade has got wet and unusable.

Best I'd like to be able to buy the plasticated translucent stuff that goes sunder the fabric and buy some fancy fabric and give the earthenware lamp  good scrub.

Or maybe best to get it professionally recovered with me perhaps supplying the fabricIMG_9778.thumb.JPG.c866b164fa21bcb170457f286c0474e9.JPG.

I've a feeling it may be rather expensive ......anyone know a good place and what cost I might be looking at.

I know there's a place on the north side on the Ban Tawai Rd I shall check there first but seem to remember its pricey,

Hold the kitten when you introduce it to the dog . Show the dog that you like it and will protect it . Closely survey when the dog tries to make contact , ( smell ) . Make that the dog gets used to the presence of the kitten .

Normally it is the cats who are afraid of the dog and become a little aggressive . Keep a distance between them for the first 2 or 3 days .

That only works with very young kittens , an older cat will possibly try to fight , what will not end good .

Time arranges everything in that relationship , you have to be patient , but observe ...

Yes a bit concerned that the potential catmates aren't so little but someone at dinner last night did it and says just give them time they now snuggle up either side of him.

  4. Hi We have a four month old modest sized dog, a loveable scallywag, and a perfect large adventure garden for pets with some small trees (escape routes?)

I'd like to add a couple of cats to the family.

I was first thinking of adding little kittens with the thought that Bear would be "in loco parentis" and not harm them and then theyd all end up pals.

But I've come across both a pair and a single kitten-cat all four months old smallish build.

    Whats the best way

    1. To introduce the cat(S) to the house so they don't run away?

    2. TO introduce them to the dog?

    3. We have a fenced off chicken area .........are they safe?

ps the dog is usually out in the day and in home at night

    thanks!IMG_9203.thumb.JPG.6f4770adb19ddca03428907de20fc941.JPG

Don't want to derail but I didn't think my question warranted a new thread. Has anyone else had issues with reporting online recently? My due date is tomorrow and I'm just getting the "For further information regarding The 90-day Notification Report Service, please contact the Immigration Branch Office in your residence area." It's my second report since extension and I'd really prefer not have to go all the way to Chaengwattana.

My wife does mine by mail never had a problem.

I bought online but suspect such a place should have - they are quite common for computer drives.

I found some kits at Amorn and a friend had one with two pentalobes but it had the size (example 2mm, 0.8mm) rather than the P number and was too big or too small

OR the screws may have previously been reamed out......its had a new battery way back........ which would say something about pentalobes. I guess epoxy and pins could get the screws out and replace them. Or maybe a real P5 would be fine.

As an addendum, the Air could do with a new battery.....the one I bought from Git for 2000bt years back has lasted v well, good as the real mccoy, but I now see even Lazada has batteries for as low as 1399bt whereas Git now costs 2500bt and needs the laptop for a day

Anyone any battery experience from Lazada and the like?

Indeed on checking it looks like I need a 1.2mm P5 available from Laz

    Thanks

  7. My sister, age 86, very active with a longterm stent, and I. 71yo, with Parkinson's but OK, are British but I havent been there for 17 years.

Either i will go to England a few weeks or vice versa.

How much would health insurance cost each of us?

ps do i have to pay for treatment, given a documented anxiety disorder stopped me returning this far?

  8. I know two places I recommend.

    Where r u?

Speak a little Thai or not?

i just had a screen fitted for rear camera and bluetooth podcasts mostly at 3000, and use my iPad for nav but theyre available with GPS about 6000

Not sure why you are asking on here- the airline will tell you if wheelchairs are carried in the cabin or for free etc.

After fiddling for a while with he website i came to TV looking for experience.

Whilst I can find that more comfortable seats are available there are no price guides

You can get wheelchair to and from the plane provided by the airport. Just inform the airline you need one. I used that service myself.

I've used service wheelchairs a few times in stores etc and would like to be independent and move my blood around.

Still like to know if I can stow for free in this area

    Thanks

Firstly as an ex commercial pilot you shouldn't be fearful. You are a 100 times more likely to die in the taxi ride to the airport

Are you aware that all airlines have a wheel chair service?

For seats you need to go to the airlines website and click the manage flight tab. And you can select seats there. Don't select an exit row which has unlimited leg room with a disability as you need to be able to assist in evacuation

    Thanks Madmen

Unfortunately its not rational I understand planes and first flew one myself a Chipmunk in 1966 haha.

I just fried my fusebox way back.

But exposure therapy works and I will get on the damn planes if they have to drag me on white faced and shaking.

Ive purposely made it into three flights to make it more challenging.

I actually tried out some wheelchairs last night and was wondering if I was allowed too take one free of charge (lightweight.....not big clunky ones).

Also was told better seats may be available at modest charge and at 190cm I'd be happy with that.

    Thanks for input!

  12. I have a fear of flying which I will crush on Saturday.

We have two seats Thai Lion Air CNX to DMK, linking to two seats onward to Phuket.

Return two evenings later on Thai direct to CNX.

I have Parkinson's....not so bad but sometimes get very slow and tired walking such that I have started getting a wheelchair ride in malls etc.

I can walk around CNX but one time I took a plane back three month sago I needed a wheelchair in DMK.

So I went an looked at some wheelchairs to buy to day.

There was one motorised one light enough to lift from a car alone.....ie I could go to a  mall alone.

I then thought it would be a good exercise to use a muscle powered wheelchair, and given the huge price difference I favoured a 6000bt alloy job.

(it will need a lot of practise to use myself but my wife can push Saturday/

    Question:

Are wheelchairs free to transport in Thailand. and can it be stowed if I use it all the way to the plane. i.e. is it like hand baggage?

Secondly, I hear there are comfortable seats available..........how much extra and how to do?

    Thanks v much

    Powerbank maybe?

    It's a thought Bob

I use the mini much more and more difficult fix so how much might a power bank suitable for a mini cost?

Presumably it would do for my phone too.

On thinking suppose the internal battery wasted away to nothing it would be nice to have a power bank to run the iPad the normal time plus plenty more in hand, say double, triple or as much as poss if theyre not too heavy

  14. Hi some of you may know GIT who runs a little Mac shop off Huuay Kow Road
Some years ago I bought a MacBook air from him Most satisfactory
Less years ago I got a replacement battery for it from him as I remember it was 2000 baht which was a very good price at the time.
It has performed very satisfactory for a long time
It’s ready for another one sure!!
I called GIT GIT and asked him how much now… 2500
My iPad Mini four is beginning to show signs of running down a little fast I also asked him about this 1500 But the bigger problem being he would want to hours to hours two hours to do the MacBook but three days to do the mini…… This is not good for me
I’ve looked on the Zada on Lazada and it seems I can buy the MacBook air battery for 1500 to 2000 baht. For the iPad mini 5 to 700 but

Obviously if I think about doing it Myself I’ll save a little money but more important I’ll safe traveling several trips and lost use of the mini which is essential kit to me

I’m sure I can do the MacBook Air change OK… How about the iPad mini… Not too difficult? Not to goNot to fiddly ?

    Thanx

In terms of a support for your ipad or whatever device Lazada does list a variety of "Laptop Trays/Desks" that might be of interest.

They also list Segway, manual and  electric wheelchairs in  various formats but servicing on an online purchase could be  an issue.

I'm afraid what they have will be unsatisfactory.

The Parky's makes my forearms very stiff and even holding my arms out a bit is uncomfortable.

But I'm thinking now of suspending the ipad in some sort of sling from the ceiling, maybe simply made from doubled up bungee cords so it will float in front of me. Kinda neutral buoyancy.

Designs for the iPad holder welcome.
