  1. I bought a bike from a local Honda dealer who advised that it wasn't necessary to have the red plates - just a copy of the bike invoice was sufficient. Is this right?

In Bangkok, red plates aren't issued. By law, you have 30 days to get the real plates on the bike. If the cops pull you over before you have the plates you only need to show the invoice and 3rd person insurance paperwork. However, I believe the red plate system is used in most other provinces.

  2. Price is in line with what I want to pay.

Now my wishis 3 more HP than the 125 and a little more top speed. The 125 would only do 108 kph and I wish for 118 or more

and can it still get about 50 kpl ??

Anyone who has one know these answwers before I get one ?

    Top speed ?

    Power ?

    Mileage per Lt. ?

One of my customers said acceleration is much better than the 125. He also said he got it up over 120 with no problem.

  3. I've got three more coming in sometime next week. Unfortunately, they have all been reserved. I don't think I'll have more until next month. If you can wait I'll reserve one for you. What color are you interestred in getting. Thanks.

    Hi Brian,

I'm hoping one of those reserved is mine. I will definitely take the red with black panels. I will PM you as well as I have a whole list of modifications that I would like doing before collecting. smile.png

Yes, it already has your name on it. I can't wait to start modding it for you. We'll also include a helmet, jacket, and one year of theft insurance in the sale price. Thanks again.

  4. Would be interesting to know what Sumet Cycle feels is the right price maybe?

We are selling them for 85k, but I'm guessing some dealers might have them as low as 80 and others as high as 90. Shop around and find the price and dealer that are right for you. We sold the first three we got yesterday within two hours of their arrival.

I'm currently out of the country, back this Friday night. If you have any in stock this weekend, I'll be interested, cash purchase.

  6. I know this might be a stupid question but, does anyone know the directions to china town??

A question is never stupid in my opinion.

I've been here 18 years and have been to BKK about 5 times - hate the place.

    I have no idea too.

I'm surprised Pirelli always seem to have long waiting times for tyres.

They are like rocking horse ****

Here is the area I was talking about. I don't know what's up with Pirelli either. We've been waitng for months for Sport Demons to arrive.

  7. If she has a good credit rating, she won't need a guarantor. However, the interest rates can be quite high for second hand financing. We sell them new at one of our other branches, but haven't got any second hands at the moment. If one comes in, I'll let you know. Best of luck.

  8. Aren't the majority of grey imports entering as parts and reassembled upon entering Thailand though? Doesn't seem like it would have much affect regarding invoice bikes that havent paid the import tax yet, as most grey imports are.

I guess the premium for current greenbooks have just risen. Same thing happened to guns when they banned new sales, prices went up 2-3 fold for registered ones.

Yes, but are they really fully reassembled or just listed as such? I think this more a case of enforcing existing laws and regulations than anything.

  9. Someone posted about this on my wife's Facebook page. I searched Google, but couldn't find anything about it. Has anyone been able to confirm this yet? Thanks.

    Brian

There's more info over at gt-rider but just someone who knows the owner/staff of RedBaron who can confirm what's been going on. Nothing official but it seems to be happening.

Thanks for that. It seems that grey imports will still be able to be registered. As Tony said though, they are going to cost more. I think this is because independent dealers will now have to pay the same full import tax as the Big four's big bike dealerships.

  10. That sounds a bit high to me. If you look around, some dealers have them for as low as 115/120K. Perhaps you should try some dealers on the mainland. You can also find good second hand ones for around 80k. Did they offer any extras with that price? Best of luck.

  11. The engine of the GSX-R1000 will produce more than 190 horsepower in A-mode fuel-mapping.

Suzuki Thailand also has the new Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa K11 on stock for 830,000 Bht. For the people who are looking for a good deal, you can get a Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa K9 for a special price.

And within a few weeks I will have finished the official Suzuki parts price list. Of all Suzuki Big Bike parts available in Thailand

Do you work for Suzuki? This sounds more like an ad than a friendly informational post.

  12. cbr250 2011 . 6.900b 1st class. I can't remember what's covered. but I'm sure Brian will remind me. hopefully my PREMIUM will go down next year biggrin.png

It covers pretty much everything. I'll post some more details when I get to the shop tomorrow. We recently had a customer do around 20,000 baht worth of damage to his CBR 250. The insurance company was very prompt in paying out for the repairs. I imagine his premium will be going up next year, while safer more sedate drivers' premiums will be going down.

The insurance for my new bike is over 20,000 per year. I hope I don't ever need it though.
