I stopped off at the bank, put 20 baht on the counter, and asked to make said deposit. Response: "Sorry, we don't accept deposits of less than 2000 baht for fixed accounts".
I was a bit confused at first reading...I thought you had put 2,000 Bt. on the counter...then I read the post again.
I mean, come on!...did you not think you might have a problem trying to lodge 20 Bt. into a "fixed" account.
Personally, I wouldn't have the nerve to even try to lodge 20Bt. into a normal savings a/c or currant a/c.

"The moral of this story is if immigration ever hold onto your passport and you have to return for it check your photo page! "
But most lightly you would spot it immediately ...unless the other guy is from the same country as yourself.

"No"...I have lived here for the past 19 years. Up until recently went on about 5 days holidays to different parts of Thailand every 6 weeks or so...never filled one out yet?

Strange that they charge in $....I would have thought an agency would prefer Thai money considering this is Thailand?
I wonder would they also accept €uro...or whatever currency one has back home?

Alcohol certainly appears to play a major role in a lot of Farang's lives in Thailand.

My question is, if you use an agent how do you show the 800K being there after 90 days unless the money is physically in your account?
Not sure I understand the problem. I myself have never used an agent but do have a fixed a/c in a bank (also have a savings a/c in same bank...have a bank book for each a/c showing how much money is in each a/c. I could get the "letter" using either a/c....so what would be the problem. Would you not just get the letter the same way you got it the first time doing your extention?

Could copy the Chinese and bring 75% of the local food store.

What's a TR visa. My thoughts were "temporary residence"... but that doesn't fit here methinks?

Kinda true....it's the only time I see them "enthused" about anything (the ladies in particular).
P.S. and taking selfies.

I doubt that very much.....
PS.....most of the people I meet are also fairly clean smelling.

Again...one of those..."Can anybody name this" etc.,...My question as always is......What is the reason for wanting to know? Even after finding out the answer.. and even if you could still remember it one week,... one month ...or one year later.....what use is the information to you.
Over my 19 years in Thailand I have seen this question come up hundreds of times about all sorts of species...and considering there are probably millions that we haven't seen yet ...it would be impossible to remember even a fraction of their names.... So......why ask.

A man after my own heart...that's what I did 19 yrs. ago and nothing has changed one iota for me since then.
..(I better add..except the exchange rate before somebody puts the boot in 555).

Big C has now asked for my passport twice. Under 1000b. I just laugh but this revelation I'm not laughing any more.
I have never been asked to show my PP in Big C except when claiming my club card discount. Could be to check it against my PP that they have in their files already as a club card member.

I just ask for my yearly bank letter for Soi 5.
I didn't see a simple answer to your question...all I seen was directions to go somewhere else and scroll down to 3...strange, why not just give the name?

Yep. Those who qualify for this would already know about it as they will already be using it.
I wouldn't say that. Next year I will be on my 20th consecutive. Therefore, according to this, I would qualify for this either next year or the year after. It's news to me and had I not read this I would have carried on none the wiser?

See many questions similar to this one on here
....whether it be birds, snakes, reptiles, insects etc.,...and wonder why people wish to know the name of the species ...does it really matter?

Power-Buy in Central Festival Mall has a very large selection. They also have a new location on Pattaya Klang, north side between Sukumvit and Foodland.
I bought a Panasonic LED model at Central and I'm very happy with it. It also doubles as a computer monitor. I strongly suggest LED over LCD, but not sure if LED is available yet in 46"
.
Doesn't any TV double as a compu. monitor if you can connect a HDMI cable?

Well written and I must say...you handled the situation very well, (sometimes I am a bit hotheaded).
