I may be wrong (have never used an agent) but I cannot see why you would have a problem. Do it with the agent, during the following year lodge the 800,000 Bt. in a bank sometime before the 2 month period, 3 to be on the safe side). We hen it is due to be renewed get your letter from bank stating you have the money in the bank and the length of time it is there. Why would anybody care after that about your previous year once you have met all the requirements for the year you are applying for?

I normally leave in in all year round. Out of 18 extenions I only took it out two times....on both occasions to put towards a condo that I knew I would make money on re-selling them.

I have understood that as it's a 1st renewal of this visa, the money must be in the bank 2 months prior to renewal. Am I right?
And all future renewals after that according to the new rules (but some IMO's seem to be unaware of this).

Yes, the GF isn't exactly a legal eagle but she thinks I only have to pay one year. I'll believe that when I see it. I don't much want to visit a tank full of hungry Muang Pattaya piranhas without having some idea of what they should be asking for.
I have owned 3 houses in company names. I paid 12.000 Bt. (can vary, depending on who you hire) for each of them yearly. Most of that sum was the accountant's/ lawyer's fees and a tiny amount in taxes as the company wasn't making a profit.
But certainly...must be done ...yearly.

Had to show IO my account history for the seasoning period and the bank letter.
IO said I'll have to show them both again in 3 months time to ensure the money was all the time in the account.
Didn't know that one would have to show the letter again ..same one or will a new one be required?

Buddha would’ve let people decide for themselves; this is just another S.E. Asian country that has <deleted> in uniforms oppressing people.
Not sure that giving people a holiday is "opressing" them?

From everything I have read ....the 800,000 Bt. in the bank way is by far the least troublesome (especially when needs to be renewed).

"They offer both single and multiple entry visas but I am unsure if the multiple entry (at 5000Bt) is worth it."
Surely it would depend on how many trips you intend making in and out if Thailand?

Thought the post was about a bed for elderly with a bad back.

When some Thais see a farang, that little devil that resides in all of us surfaces just long enough to frustrate the farang and give some sadistic pleasure to an otherwise mundane existence...
Laugh it off and move on...these little stinkers will never amount to anything or come close to reaching middle class...????
"that little devil that resides in all of us surfaces"
Strange reply, considering that, according to you, we all have that same tendency?

No, it is not a rare coin, it is used daily in Thailand. Unfortunately for you, somebody saw the similarity to your Canadian $2.00 coin, had this Thai 10 Baht coin laying around and decided to get rid of it in this manner to save a little Canadian money.
It also looks like a €2 coin. In know of a guy who collects them while here on holiday and gives them out in change when working nights in his Taxi when he goes back home.

I seen a 4 digit No. on here to call when one has an Immigration problem...Would that be worth trying?

I dont think you need a work permit if you want to go outside and collect/clean up trash?
Exactly....and...of all the reasons one might want to go abroad to do voluntery work...picking up that country's trash wouldn't immediately spring to mind?

I would imagine the answer is "Yes".
I am on the 800,000 Bt. system. If I were going to be out of the country for 3 months I doubt they would accept 600,000 Bt. because of that ?

With a foreign Will, no. Foreign Wills cannot cover assets in Thailand. With a Thai Will the nationality of the beneficiary is irrelevant as the Executor can distribute cash assets as soon as probate is granted and the banks distribute the cash to the Executor
Slightly off topic, but on the question of "probate being granted"...I hope it works better here than in Europe. My Father died over a year ago and I am mentioned as one of the benefitories in his Will. Seven months after his death I contacted his Lawyers to update me as to the situation (I had heard nothing after being notified that I was mentioned in his Will).
After 7 emails to them I was finally informed that it was still going through the "probate process".
PS. Am still waiting to hear again from the Lawyers, it's been over a year now.
PPS. You may ask.."Why not contact the execiteurs...because they are made up of my brother and two half sisters...we have not been in contact for many years.

However wouldn't they find it strange if I continue using an ED visa for years cuz I want to learn a lot of things and the ED visa is the easiest option for me??
Say, Uni+Training courses etc... if I kept on enrolling into these courses for years
Why are two visas being mentioned ...An ED visa and a non-ed visa?

Just wondering...will the answer to your question help your situation in any way?

"Does a shareholder require a degree to apply for a work permit? Planning to open a business with my wife. "
Obviously not. The amount of businesses (restaurants) I have come across owned by Farangs that haven't got the slightest idea about how necessary it is to have training for their staff. Some run their businesses like soup kitchens
The amount of times I have seen customers looking for service while the waitresses play their phones..I have lost count of.

"With the Thailand visa regulation clampdowns"
Above is the opening words of the OP...and I ask..."What clampdowns"? Nothing has changed for me, am doing the same thing that I was doing 18 yrs. ago.
Proof of income method is the only change I read about?
PS...Appoligies if you are referring to visas of a different nature. I had the "extention of stay" on my mind. I didn't read the full length of the post.

Didn't read all the long post but read enough to get the jist of it.
I fail to understand, why on earth do you think Thailand (or any other country for that matter) should have any responsibility for Don...if any country should, would that not be his own country ???

"Do they simply forget that it was them that stopped you registering !! Unbelievable..."
What's that got to do with anything...Everybody gets refused for whatever they apply for if they haven't got the correct paperwork?
