is there any chance the new head of immigration will ease the crazy requirements for staying in Thailand?
What crazy requirements?
Wanting to assert whether foreigners who want to live here long term have the means to do so?

Never had one back home.

Another good result might be... "an end" ...to all these posts about staying in or leaving Thailand.
How about simply doing whatever on chooses to do and pretend that nobody else really cares either way?

Though I did not ask directly, according to the form they gave me, prior seasoning of funds is now two months, rather than three. I will double check when I do my bankbook visit.
That is indeed a new change we were notified about when the changes came into force.

I deduce it might be a good idea to make a withdrawal that day, then do the bankbook update, so the last amount and date reflect the current date.
Would it not show the date of "update" without making a withdrawell if you do it on your way to to the Immigration Office the next time.
I ask this because I remember one time taking out money and immediately updating my book...it did not show the withdrawell...too soon for the transaction to show I presumed?

I wasn't aware that the police would give out information like that "willy nilly" to anybody who asked.. even if they have it, which I imagine they have.

I believe that I am NOT the Greatest power alive in all the Universes and Galaxies put together....that there is some sort of Power out there Greater than myself. ...Many choose to call that Power...."God"...(that word probably causes the most problems for non- believers in itself, but I understand it is only a "label" that someone used for description purposes).
I choose to believe and have recovered from an "incurable" disease at the age of 51 with that belief. A recovery that I failed to gain through my own will-power for the whole of my life prior to that point.
To be honest, the way I look at it...What have I got to lose living my life in this belief. ...If there is a "God" after I die.. I will have gained and received all the power and help I ever asked for and that made my life so beautiful through the freedom from my illness + so much more
after my recovery....And if there is NO "God" at the end of the day ..."I will not be aware of it".
"God Bless You All".

I dont have a problem with differential charging at attractions and venues here. The way I see it, my disposal income is probably higher than the average Thai families, it's their country not mine, so I pay a little more to access them. Having said that, many, especially around the tourist spots of Pattaya and Phuket, are not worth the money anyway, which is a different argument.
Have to agree....cannot see for the life of me how looking at a waterfall is anything special.

Might have been helpful if you disclosed in your OP what exactly the problem is that you want covered by the guarantee?

the number of operatives was of course doubled as half were working on their texting skills
Sounds like you are saying that Tesco have taken into account that at least half their staff will be glued to their phones....so they have made allowances for that fact and doubled up on their staff numbers?

Call it whatever you like (didn't read all the post).
I hooked up with my lady because I liked her. I retired myself when I "discovered" this wonderful country at the age of 51 and wanted to get the most out of my new life of freedom (was one year recovered from alcoholism at the time) so I decided to spend the next few years travelling the width and breath of Thailand. I certainly wasn't going to do this on my "owneo" and leave my new found love at home, working in a job that paid pittance as far as I was concerned. So I simply told her to pack in the job, pack her bags as we were heading off into the wild blue yonder. I also made it clear to her that she would not be losing any money...I will give her the same amount every month (that way she could still fulfill her obligations to her Mother etc.,.
Best decision I ever made. I would never have stayed in Thailand alone. Am still with her. I have been here 19 yrs. now. I have a nice property, 2 cars and two motorbikes. The only reason I mention the "material" things is to point out that they are all due to her (she made it possible for me to stay here).
Had I never met her and returned home after the first 5 years or so through loneliness or whatever....If lucky...I would be existing in a studio flat that cost the whole of my pension in rent alone and if even more lucky....would be sitting in front of a one bar electric fire...just waiting to die.

Just wondering, if you have lived here a "long time"...why are your figures in Dollars...do you not think we all have to adapt to our new country at sometime. This is an "International" community of ex-pats?

Which embassy or consulate is asking for that?
Or is it for the education ministry to issue the documents required to apply for a non-ed visa that is being asked for by school?
Your previous history of visas and entries will not prevent you from getting a non-ed visa or an extension stay.
"Personal history check for ED visa".
Not sure why you you refer on two occasions to a "non-ed" visa...when he is asking about an "Ed-visa"?
