  1. people might dine out in Dark Red Zoned Bangkok instead, there they don't need to be vaccinated...????
  2. I wouldn't worry about meal preferences, if I was you, Bangkok Air will still know that you are vegan, and so will a lot others after buying the leaked data, and now everybody after you posted in ASEAN NOW...???? By the way, it's not the first time that some kind of data have been stolen from Bangkok Air, but I didn't see it in the news last time, or got an email from the airline. It'a a number of years ago, and I got several emails from others using my special Bangkok Air email address - i.e. [email protected] - the senders kindly told me that my mailserver had been hacked and encrypted, and I should pay them some money to reopen it. I of course changed my email address in Frequent Flyer and informed Bangkok Air about the breach, but I never heard anything back. Just for reference I kept the "bkkair"-alias open and emails continue to arrive, the last only a few weeks ago, but now they want cyber-money - ,i.e. Bitcoins or Etherum - to reopen the encryption of my so-called "email server" on "bkkair@...". I of course never paid anything, but wonders how I can continue to receive emails when the mail-server is hacked and encrypted...????

  5. Be aware of box jelly fish - by some mentioned as the most poisonous creature on Earth - especially in calm weather and after rain, or during soft rain, some experts warns. Sadly, a 9-year-old Israeli boy has died after he was stung by a box jellyfish while swimming at Haad Rin beach on Koh Phangan even he was given immediate first aid and rushed to hospital... You can read more in Thai language at Mathicon Online'a article (29th August 2021) HERE. 7 years ago we there was a similar sad accident with a French boy, The Guardian article from August 2014 is HERE. In case of being stung by Box Jelly Fish, some beaches on the islands have emergency posts with vinegar - looks for example like in my photo hereunder - vinegar is the best instant cure while waiting for an ambulance... Here is an emergency first aid guide in both Thai and English... Samui Rescue might also be a source for instant ambulance help, their phone number is 077 421 444. This is what a Box Jellyfish looks like in Wikipedia...
  6. TAT will have the correct answer about actual number of quality tourists, but there might also be others arriving, as a number of ASEAN NOW-members - and members of other forums - have posted that they used Phukets Sandbox as alternative to alternative quarantine...????
  7. Copy of you passport will normally do; i.e. the name & ID-page, and the page with your valid entry-stamp or extension of stay. You can have the photocopy laminated, or just use one of the water tight bags to hang around the neck. If you have Thai drivers license then that is also a valid ID, it includes either your passport number or your Thai ID-number, if you are registered...????
  8. Seems to be the trend many places... If a staff member is not vaccinated, the employer might need ongoing negative Covid-tests for that staff member, so fair enough to deduct from the salary, if that's the case.
  9. It's more than true, it was 900,000+ yesterday... National Vaccination Rollout: DAY 76: 404,078 <— Saturday DAY 77: 206,820 <— Sunday DAY 78: 573,446 DAY 79: 585,214 DAY 80: 637,921 DAY 81: 669,189 DAY 82: 915,738 <— New High
  10. Yes, but I still read postings from farang-aliens complaining about no vaccine is available for them, both here and in another forum, so 75 minus 55 (54 rounded up) would mean that there are Phizer vaccine enough for another about 20,000 people.
  11. It's my impression that all numbers are copied from an official statement in Thai language. I share Nicha's graphics, as they are in English, then I don't need to figure out anything in Thai from Google Translate. Perhaps the Thai saying, "don't think too much", fit's well here...????
  12. Young people are unfortunately hit hard by the Delta-variant, so it makes good sense to vaccinate them, and Pfizer is approved from 12 years and up...???? It's my understanding, from reading the news, that high risk groups already have been sorted out; including foreigners that are offered Pfizer, but not many foreigners seemed to register - only 54,000 have registered out of 75,000 available double-doses donated by USA - or perhaps there are not many foreigners living in the country...????
  13. I appreciate alternatives to meat are coming on the menu, but don't call it meat - i.e. "Plant-Based Chicken" something like "Pop", or whatever - it's not meat. And don't forget that some vegans simply loose appetite just they hear, or see, the word meat, or any variants like beef, chicken, or pork. If you don't want meat then just call it what it is, i.e. "Plant-based Pop"; we don't call meat for "chicken-based Vegetables"...????
  14. Seems like a lot under 60 registered without underlying medical conditions, from the article... Of these 11,760 were aged 60 and over and 42,985 were under 60. 257 were pregnant women and 3,947 had one or more of seven underlying health conditions.
  15. FTT is short for "Foreign Telegraphic Transfer", so that code qualifies as prof of the foreign transfer that you might when applying for extension of stay...????
  16. So you are not a fully vaccinated tourist arriving in the Phuket Sandbox..?
  17. Please report back with a post in the forum about any side effect symptoms in for example November...???? Sinovac followed by AZ seems to be an excellent alternative to no vaccination, however how soon you can boost with another type might still be fairly unknown; however, a boost after 6-12 month seems necessary according to scientists being quoted in recent news articles. Sinovac is based on dead virus, AZ is a vector-type vaccine, and Moderna is a mRNA vaccine, so three different types. I got no idea if it's a benefit or not, you however should get two jabs of Moderna, so a full vaccination; there has been a few stories in the news about people receiving multiple vaccines, a Thai doctor heading for work in Canada got four jabs. You can compare the vaccines and read more HERE...????
  18. Initially the news storied talked about 150,000 doses of Pfizer were set aside for foreigners - i.e. 75,000 people with two jabs each - and at the same time the forum seemed to be loaded with post from foreign people complaining about that they could not get vaccination. Then appeared news stories with that some 20,000 people had been registered and a call to foreigners to register, little later the news stories mentioned that around 40,000 had registered, and now 54,000. I'm surprised that not more have registered, or is it so that this is the number of resident foreigners interested in vaccination...????
  19. This thread is ment to share information about Covid-19 vccinations on the islands, perhaps a moderater would pin the tread, so we only have one place to share information about vaccination, making knowledge distribution, questions and answers more easy. Please note that "the Ministry of Public Health affirmed that all people who reside in Thailand, regardless of their nationality, are eligible to receive the vaccine under the government’s plan." PR Thai Government says... The Government has ensured that Thailand will begin a mass COVID-19 vaccination campaign, starting 1 May 2021, by prioritizing people aged 60 years and older, as well as people having certain underlying diseases or conditions, followed by citizens aged 18-59 years. During the CCSA meeting, the Ministry of Public Health affirmed that all people who reside in Thailand, regardless of their nationality, are eligible to receive the vaccine under the government’s plan. The first phase of COVID-19 vaccination campaign will start with Thai people aged 60 years and older, as well as people who have certain medical conditions: (1) chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), (2) chronic kidney disease (CKD) in 5th stage, (3) coronary artery disease (CAD), (4) stroke, (5) obesity, (6) diabetes, and (7) cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. These groups are required to register to receive the vaccine, with a choice of three methods. Registrations may be done on (1) the Mor Prom ("Doctors Ready") app, a new platform that was specifically designed to facilitate the Government's vaccination program, (2) a nearby hospital, or (3) a village health volunteer or health promotion hospital in your area. The registration opens on 1 May 2021 and vaccinations will begin on 7 June. Other groups will be vaccinated in another phase. The registration for citizens aged 18-59 will be open in July 2021, and they will start to be vaccinated in August. 20. I kindly suggest that we during the coronavirus pandemi period make a pinned thread with transport from/to the islands – Phangan, Tao and Samui – as the normal timetables and transports are cancelled; and when restarting, they might be only with limited departures. Lomprayah has been mentioned earlier in another thread, and the question about their 12:30 catamaran departure from Samui to Phangan, which I haven't seen, but however seemed like some passengers did make the tour. The reason could be, that there are so few passengers that it's operated by a speed boat. Here is the latest update from Lomprayah...
