  1. You can also buy online directly from trusted computer outlets like Banana and JIB.
  2. I bought an Oppo phone from Lazada, no problems. As you mention yourself, you can check the reliability of the seller and check if there are any reviews. My Oppo phone came with a screen protection, so I didn't need to buy that extra. However, some resellers might give you a lot of freebees – including Blue Tooth speaker and headphones – so, if you value those, a reseller might be a better option than Lazada. I did that when I changed to a newer model, but I had to buy a screen protection, and now I have some free stuff that I actually don't need...????
  3. From the article... "It hopes to boost its membership by 10,000 in the coming year under the new scheme. Current Thailand Elite packages can be applied for until September 15. They will be discontinued and replaced with new packages on October 1, 2023."
  4. I couldn't find his name in the new approved list of ministers...
  5. The article link "https://www.thaipbsworld.com/red-shirts-to-scatter-and-take-various-forms/" opens an article with the title: Russian moon “mishap” means US can be all over the moon.
  6. A simple process; the school will provide you with the needed help, as soon as you register the child. You can – as already mentioned – enter as visa exempt and apply for a non-immigration type-ED visa at a local immigration office, which will give you 90-days permitted stay from the original arrival date. Two weeks before the 90-day period ends, you can apply for a 1 year extension of stay; the school will help providing all necessary documentation, required by the local immigration office.
  7. Most girls/ladies wish to marry up – don't forget that diamonds are a girl's best friend – so, it's quite normal that girls are dreaming about marrying a millionaire (today a billionaire). I have as you tried to be almost penniless and also having some funds. I appreciate the latter and i feel more happy with enough; I wasn't happy or had less problems, when I was penniless... I still look forward to my EuroJackpot, so I can afford even more happiness...????
  8. 3,500 kroner is a relatively small amount – even that it might be a relative big amount for some individuals – you should consider it as a lesson learned-loss and move on; and yes, I'm Danish. You have voluntary transferred the amount to a foreign national, so it's not something the Danish police can do much about. You might be able to report it, and that might be it. You'll gain nothing. You need to contact Thai police to get something done. However, someone using a fake so-me profile is not unusual and can be hard to investigate. You being a foreigner might not help the police's interest in starling an investigation. And what will you gain? Even if they might find the person – or persons – behind the fake profile, the money might well be gone already long ago, so you won't get them back. So, save yourself from a lot of trouble and worrying: Write off the loss and move on... And by the way: We are many, also Danes, who have "lost" money, we voluntary gave to Thai ladies – even when they didn't use a fake profile and was, who they appeared to be – and we are many, also Danes, who learned a lesson, moved on and often had better luck next time...????
  9. You may not like my point of view, but Big Tu actually did something good for the country by stopping the escalating Red vs. Yellow conflict.
  10. Warranty means repair, not return. You can for example get a third party check of the engine, so you know if you have any rightful claims at the used car dealer.
  11. Cash might be cheapest for you, especially if you have a Thai bank account to transfer your funds into.
  12. Make sure you get a green – not blue – book for a motorbike. Power of attorney, signed copy of ID-card, transfer form. You need ID and address confirmation letter from immigration, or your Yellow House Book (take photo copies, they might need that). Check if mandatory insurance can be transferred, otherwise you also needs that.
  13. You can use the official agent HERE or buy directly from Thai Elite Card HERE. There are no scams on the official sites. On the agent site scroll down for a good overview of the different possibilities. Thai Elite Card do to my knowledge not import stuff for you. Expect to pay duty and vat when importing. A global shipping firm might be able to give you an estimate. Perhaps you can take some of the parts with you in your luggage. Check what similar or same DJ-stuff costs in Thailand, the major brand-products are all available. A good site for checking prices and online shopping is Lazada, another is Shopee.
  14. How can a person with "inability to withstand pressure" be a businessman, politician and primeminister...????
  15. That's not the recycling problem, that's when somebody leaves garbage in the wrong places. There are actually a number of recycling machines available that instantly can convert a glass bottle to sand...
  16. My first impression – when reading your OP – is that genius girls don't use dating sites... By the way, have you check how many profiles from us ASEAN NOW-members that state: "I'm a genius"...???? My best advice: Find out which trendy cafes or other places the genius folks from unis and other clever research institutions meet, and begin to hang out at these places and make yourself an interesting subject for a genius lady... An old advice says that equal children plays best together – so, I presume that you also is a genius...????
  17. Yes, I indeed appreciate how lucky I am every day...???????? I even often compare to life-style in my home country and check both properties I can afford, and those beyond my ability, I still don't want to change...
  18. To my knowledge, you just need to change the reason for extensions of stay – your visa has long time expired – but you need a bank deposit of 800k baht matured for two month to do so. Some of the rules might be slightly different from province to province, so ask your local immigration office for the list of their requirements for extension of stay based on retirement. It my impression, that you cannot use the monthly transfer of pension method, when changing from work permit, perhaps others can confirm if that's also a possibility.
  19. You can buy a power of attorney-form in the paper shops (or book shops?), fill it in and sign it with two witnesses. You need signed copies of their ID-cards. Best to get a Thai to help you, many Thais are used to the process, as it's commonly used.
  20. That's what I would do in your case – I brought all my four '60s vintage guitars in the way – duty and import costs can be quite high.
  21. I had before a Lao as domestic help for six years. If nothing has changed, you need first to be eligible for obtaining a work permit for foreign domestic help. It was my Thai girlfriend that became eligible for employing a foreigner. The actual work permit is a bit complicated – lots of paperwork and health check – so using an agent might be worth it. We paid 10,000 baht for the service, and find it was fully worth the money, as the agent made all arrangements with health check and interviews, including transportation to/from. A work permit for domestic help from a neighbouring country is for two years, after which period you need to renew and do the process all over again – so we did it three times.
  22. No, you need to fulfill the rights for SS to be eligible for the voluntary extension.
  23. It's my impression that many have had similar experiences. My first Thai girlfriend was kind of gold-digger girl, luckily (for me) it didn't last that long time – and yes, I knew the risk in advance, and she was a calculated risk. Many – if not most – Thai ladies sees a man/husband as provider; just like a man/husband was in old time in Western countries. Providing can included an extended Thai family. Often one needs to be prepared being a family provider; or state it very, very clearly from the beginning, if one is not prepared to this – in such cases the girl/lady might decide to move on. I've often heard two expression from Thai women, one: »If he cannot provide, why do I need him!« And: »I don't love him, but he can take good care of me!« About the latter, there were two cases, where I knew the one the girl/lady could love, but those two men were not at provider stage. An often said advice, unfortunately is: "Move on". Of course it can be difficult with a long term relationship – especially if there is a child or are children involved – or marriage, but it might often be the only lasting sensible solution. I also believes in that one can find acceptable/good/true relationships not too much based in finance; if accepting the little old-fashioned level, with the man/husband is the provider. The scary part is, when one is falling (deeply) in love – especially when being mainly: A provider.
  24. Be careful about falling in love with a Thai woman – one can unfortunately easily do that...???? – especially if the behave weird. Sometimes the best advice is to move on. There are plenty of alternatives – also young college students – and some of them might even be more attractive...???? To my knowledge, Thai women's behavior is described separately in the extended supplement volume to the book: "How to Understand Women". Sometimes life is so much more easy, when being a single man...
