One week before, no x-ray, just a small heath check. I normally use Thai International Hospital opposite Lotus's in Bo Phut (Chaweng). I use to obtain the health certificate a few days before. Last time for me was October, and the price was still 250 baht; took about 15 minutes from walk-in to pay and walk-out...???? Edit: The is a still valid list of needed documentation a bit back in the thread...

Vat in Thailand is 7 percent and there is a minimum amount you totally should have bought for – I think to remember that it's 5,000 baht – to be eligible for a vat-refund.

khunPer replied to khunPer's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Richard Barrow says at 6:15 pm: All boats, including ferries between the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, have been told to stay ashore until at least 20th December due to rough seas. Four ships have sunk and one container ship has run aground so far. HTMS Sukhothai also sank last night. Stay safe if you’re down south. -

The Meteorological Department at 5 AM warned of high waves in the Gulf of Thailand starting on Sunday, December 18th. This led the governor to prohibit all boats from leaving shore from 8 AM on Sunday until a yet-to-be-determined time on Monday. The governor also cited strong winds and widespread rain throughout the South. Ferry services on the following routes are suspended: Surat Thani-Ko Samui-Ko Phangan-Ko Tao Don Sak-Ko Samui-Ko Phangan-Ko Tao Ko Samui-Ko Phangan-Ko Tao-Chumphon Ratchaprapa Dam in Ban Takhun district Source: TPN National News. -

Good time to sell land in Samui/Lamai?
khunPer replied to Nepal4me's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Contact some of the local real estate agents – Google might be helpful – quick sale normally equals low price like around 2/3 of the normal selling price, which is not the same as asking price...???? -
Help I need my belongings shipped from the UK
khunPer replied to SJCoop's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
You cannot import household duty-free, you need a non-immigrant visa, or a work permit to do that. A 20-feet container might be safer and could also be cheaper than shipping separate boxes. I was recommended a container when I moved to Samui. Get the stuff or the container shipped CIF Bangkok and use a local shipping agent to clear with customs and arrange for domestic transport to the island, is you are not using an expensive courier-style company with door-to-door delivery, all inclusive. Expect to pay little both duty and vat. You might need to travel up to Bangkok with your passport for custom declaration. A very detailed packing list plus a pro-forma invoice is required with value estimated for each item, and type- and serial numbers for all electronics. If you do a required by the customs you'll have a trouble free import, especially if you pay a small overtime fee to the custom officers in the harbor, if your shipping agent recommends that...???? -

To my knowledge, it varies between immigration offices or provinces. Some immigration offices resets the 90 day reporting when domestically applying for O-visa or extending the stay, others counts from entry date and continue independently of extensions of stay. The immigration office I use resets the 90-days reporting.

If Wife Dies Before Me.
khunPer replied to NoshowJones's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Having a Will will negate any such confusion. Not according to "Thai Law for Foreigners", page 80, spouse will be left 50 percent and children shares 50 percent... That is in principle also what the linked text says: "If there is more than one heir in any one class, they take an equal share of the entitlement available to that class" – spouse is one class, children is another class; i.e. 50 percent to each class...???? -

She can make a Last Will, if no Last Will the husband gets 50 percent and children shares 50 percent. -
Re: @Tropicalevo's suggestion for water delivered by truck; the smallest water trucks carry 2 cubic meters, so you need a tank capacity that fits this size, if you want to use that option. You can in average count between 100 and 150 liters water use per day per person.
