Sometimes I really miss a ????-emoji in the like-options.

Interesting, very interesting, then we are back to at least 321 AD. However Wikipedia talks about 7th century and the stupa in the article's photo as "Khao Khlang Nok, was an ancient Dvaravati-style stupa in Si Thep, dated back around 8th-9th century"...???? Wikipedia also states that "the ancient city of Si Thep was built in the Dvaravati era. Prince Damrong found the area of the old city in 1905 when he visited Monthon Phetchabun. It is now Si Thep Historical Park." (Source link HERE.) About the Dvaravati era... (Source link HERE.)

Is it really SHA Plus hotels are so expensive?
khunPer replied to anyone's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That's a bargain, only 643 bah per day...???? Many people would pay 4,500 baht per day - at least where I live in Thailand - but then breakfast for two will normally also be included...???? -
Don't buy a used system, buy a new, it normally comes with a warranty, and is not that expensive. A 500 MB 4-camera recorder of good plug & play quality costs around 7,000 baht to 10,000 baht. Cameras come from about 500 baht and up. You need an UPS on the recorder and supply-mains to the cameras, which will be another 2,000 baht. I got a 4 camera system installed in my house with two indoor and two outdoor cameras, all with infrared for night recordings, it was quite cheap. Get a quote from a professional installer, it might be worth it rather than doing it yourself, a four camera system would be about 20,000 baht or less, depending of cable distance and access to where it's installed; converted to Western money it's in the area of $650...????

I cannot see how the street food stalls targeting tourists will recover from the plan that replaces the old kind of budget tourism in high numbers with a limited number of wealthy quality tourists - of course apart from the single Michelin-star street food stall...????

Thai Economy Expected to Fully Recover in 2023
khunPer replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Thailand News
Great news, so the nation seems to be back to almost 40 million "business as usual"-tourists in 2023, or a similar income from a smaller number of wealthy quality tourists... -
To put it very short - even that it sounds harsh, and might be unpopular by some - if you can't afford a travel insurance, you can't afford to travel. If someone dies without insurance, get the body cremated if you cannot pay yourself to bring it home - ash is affordable to bring back - instead of opening yet another go-fund-me or like kind of contribution page; keep that option for cases where help is really needed.

It's not Lazada that are selling the stuff, it's a huge lot of individual merchants, using different shipping companies for delivery. Always check the sellers reliability/ratings score for shipping etc. before ordering...????

Where I live the local HomePro has a huge selection of coffee makers from domestic to semipro to pro. The domestic/semi pro machines might be too small for professional use. I have an espresso maker in the cheap end - i.e. in the 5,000 baht level - which is excellent for morning or evening coffee, but won't work for all day production. There is a link HERE to HomoPro's online shop, with numerous coffee makers, you would probably need to look at something from around 25k baht for more professional use...????

Thai unemployment at its worst point in 14 years
khunPer replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes numerous. About half the workers that were building my house were Thais, a number of workers came from Laos and one was from India. I have many Thai friends working as cook, as waiter/waitress, or even as room maid in many star resorts, for up to 15,000 baht a month. But some few that got unemployed after the Covid-lockdown didn't want to change profession - for example be quite well paid guard in a shopping mall - but rather wait until reopening, and the former profession becomes available. Some might feel that certain jobs are too low status, so they' might loose face and therefore rather don't work. The Thai unemployment rate is however relative low compared to many other countries; it's 4.3 percent in UK and 4.6 percent is USA. -
What was your past jobs? Rock musician Operationel planning in a major airline Stage manager in a theater Partner in a recording studio Music publishing Partner in musical unit manufacture, i.e. cassette tapes and vinyl records Distributor of professionel audio equipment Director of a commercial radio station Disc manufacture Online publishing Are you happy you retired or do you still miss work? I couldn't see myself stop working, even when I passed 70, until a friend thought that I needed a rest, and without asking me booked a ticket for me to Bangkok, and took me down to an island in the south. A few years later I retired early at age 56, and moved down to that island in the south. I don't miss my work at all, I however still have my publishing rights, so kind of work... Did you like going to work everyday or was you glad to get out? I liked my work - all of them - and I was glad to stop, and I'm still very happy 16 years after...???? Who had a job they remained in past 30 years? Me, self-employed - or partner/owner - in music and sound business, very active from 1976 till 2006, and still active in music publishing, same company all the years, but today I'm the single owner of what little that remains. If you had that decision not to retire when you did would you have kept on working a few more years ? Do you regret retiring then? No, not at all. Continue working would be hard work to pay tax, and just have a ltiny bit for myself - I originates from the country that is number one in the whole World when it comes to taxation of it's population - so what if I has a lot more money, but I was too old to enjoy them? No. enough was enough; even that it was just enough...???? Do you ever sit in Asia wherever you are and think, I really wish I stayed with my job...? No, never. And I keep contact with my friends thanks to email, and later especially Facebook, and many of my friends wish to have a holiday in Paradise, so they come by and say hello; some of the I see more of now, than when we lived a few kilometers apart...????

If you don't ask, you might never know it...???? I remember restaurant Bus Stop in soi 4 Nana - perhaps it's still there - with lots of nice girls taking order and serving food. One of the girls told me, that you could have the desert dish as take away...

Sh*t happens, in the always unbearable bright light of hindsight, I should have brought my stamp collection with me, instead of selling it before I moved to LOS...???? I don't fancy fish in glass bowls, but I however understand and appreciate the gogo-bar view, but for me it's more fun to see how the girls move in night clubs than glued to a silver pole, or even dance close with them at beach parties, of course decent without any kind of touch...????
