  2. We only saw a cropped version on the photo in the opening post, the girl never stood on a flag, it's a photoshop image...
  3. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, but a child need permission from it's guardian(s) to invest. Have you checked with a lawyer about the possibilities..? However, I'm a farang-foreigner and I can own a house, but not the land under the house, which I for example can lease; and I can buy as many stocks I like, just like any foreigner can under either the 49 percent limit, or with the NVDR-option; and I can have Thai bank accounts in my name that pays me interest, just I have an address in Thailand, which is easy to obtain. You might be able to buy the property with a company limited, where your Thai-child owns shares, even a majority - I never had any problems with that, I don't think the mum signed anything, check with an experience property-lawyer - you can control the company via preferred shares, there are more than one method to do that...????
  4. If you are travelling abroad with such an expensive new handbag, it would be worth keeping the receipt to show in customs that all taxes had been paid when the bag was bought, before it was brought a trip out of the Kingdom... Oops, perhaps the bag was bought abroad...
  5. That why the government wants both "quality tourists" and happy "quality retirees", just look at what's happening with the O-A visa...
  6. I believe you, and all other Brits, are free to move back to UK for better health care..! And if I'm unhappy I can of course return to my home country; which might be an awful place for retirement... It would be more relevant to look at figures among foreign retirees in LOS, like health condition and longevity when comparing, and not compare with the natives. Furthermore foreign retirees might choose high ranking private hospitals rather than public. Happiness level is also a major factor to include...????
  7. Depending of where in LOS you settle for retirement...????
  8. November is high season on Phuket, and no season on Samui, earlier many resorts simply closed fra 1st November until just before Xmas. Furthermore it's little different different clientele visiting Phuket and Bangla Road than Samui, so not easy for a straight comparison, not to forget that Phuket's airport can handle long distance international flights, and also have European charter flight arrivals...????

  10. Bhavana had an outbreak some time ago, might be under control. Most students on Samui between 12 years and 18 years have by now been fully vaccinated with Pfizer, all have had the offer.
  11. My Bangkok Bank-account for example, 100,000 baht pr. day and 25,000 baht per withdrawal. SCB has similar high withdrawal limit per day, but used to be only 20,000 baht per withdrawal.
  12. The last school that closed was because of one positive student, so far only two known positive results fra that school, but it's only a week ago the school closed, so more cases can theoretically show up.
  13. I don't think tourists will come in masses, before Thailand Pass and other similar inventions have gone; there are many more easy to access fine alternatives...????

  15. Chaweng and Lamai, not Samui, which is so much more than Chaweng beach road and ditto in Lamai; however, you are not here, so how would you know...????
  16. There are no bars open, perhaps from January, but restaurants are allowed to sell alcohol when serving food, so some places are now "restaurants", or at least they serve food. I think all still need to close at 11 pm or Midnight. The beach road in Chaweng is however still almost dead as a Dodo - apart from take way kebab - last time i checked. However, I must admit that I'm not headed out dancing several times a week around beach road-area at the moment, as i would likely be disappointed and only get a ????
  17. I didn't find any update yesterday (November 20th), I haven't yet checked sources today.
  18. Amazing that they count them so precisely, but it's of course "amazing Thailand" - great cleaning job they have done...????
  19. Should read "more than 50,000 people have now entered Thailand..." - we don't know how many are real tourists, perhaps only half of them...????
  20. Insurance is business, sometimes you gain a lot, and sometimes you lose some money, which results in that the owners, the shareholders, don't get dividend for some time.
