  1. STV (Special Tourist Visa) gives you 90 days of stay, with the possibility of two 90-days extensions, a total of up to 270 days stay in the Kingdom...????
  2. Thanks for your reply. I however don't think so, often the typical "two week holidayers" seemed to take a few days in Bangkok for habbit, experience and shopping...????
  3. 30h October Samui +3 new cases Phangan +2 new cases Koh Tao, no new cases
  4. Just FYI, the vaccines offered now on Samui are AstraZeneca and Pfizer...????
  5. As @ubonjoe says, it seems right now like your parents need the first night in a SHA+ hotel in Bangkok, however situation might change between now and December. The special Samui+ sandbox was based on single-ticket booking directly to Koh Samui - i.e. all through ticket with Bangkok Airways code share partners, where there was a special isolated transit are in Suvarnabhumi airport, and between two and four special connection flights for only Samui+ passengers - these routes have terminated per October 31st. On Samui we have not heard anything about alternatives to this. In the local Samui-forum there is an updated thread about transport to and from Samui and her sisters, link HERE...????
  6. The owner - and his pigs - cannot "harvest the fruits of the land" as this right has been servitude to you; i.e. no fruits to eat, no <deleted> from pigs...????
  7. As other posters have mentioned it, is your company limited active as long as it's not closed; i.e. audited annual statements need to be produced together with annual tax reports. Whoever is registered as director is liable. Shareholders are liable for their registered capital only - i.e. limited to not more than the registered shareholder capital - however, in case that a shareholder has not paid the registered capitol for his/her shares, the shareholder is in principle personal liable for up to the limited amount (i.e. the definition of "company limited"). If I was in your situation, I would have any missing annual tax-statements made as soon as possible, pay any fines, and formally close the company if I was not going to use it. In my modest opinion, keep your records clean in case you at a later point wish to engage with business in Thailand...????
  8. Because quality tourists apparently don't visit that kind places...????
  9. Wonder how many of the passengers that arrive onboard the "100 cargo flights"...???? 7,000 international passengers arrives on 110 international flights, which are in average 64 passengers per flight...
  10. Khaosod English... Residents on Koh Samui queue up to get vaccinated against Covid-19 on Tuesday as the island gears up for the tourism reopening on Nov. 1. Officials say the vaccination center is open to everyone regardless of nationality, whether they are Thais, expats, or migrant workers from neighboring countries.
  11. 27th October Samui +18 new cases Phangan, no data Koh Tao, no data 28th October Samui +31 new cases Phangan +10 new cases Koh Tao, no new cases 29th October Samui +1 new case Phangan +9 new cases Koh Tao, no new cases
  12. The typical Thai-way of cleaning beaches, garbage is dig down in the sand, nothing new; however most of it is organic stuff as plants, leaves and seaweed, but unfortunately also some plastic and other real garbage...
  13. A house book is approval of address and register of people living on that address, it got nothing to do with a title deed for a property, for example a "chanote", aka "nor sor see (4)", title deed. All registered addresses will have a blue house book - also a condo - but only Thais can be registered in blue house books. Aliens shall be registered in a yellow house book. It depends widely on the local tessa ban-office what is required for an alien to be obtained in a yellow house book. Some places it's a very easy and simple procedure, other places it can be quite extensive. Where I lived to procedure was similar to permanent residence, apart from no language test, so I was allowed a translator during the interview, and I also didn't need to sing the national hymn (the staff at tessa ban shall by happy, extremely happy, that I didn't sing for them)... In general you'll need an authorized, and in some cases verified, translation of your passport, as your name will be rewritten with Thai characters - check with someone not knowing your name how they pronounce the Thai characters, check if it at all sounds like your name - and you will be officially registered with an ID-number...????
  14. It's depending on the local immigration office. Most users seems to say that 90-day reports are independent from annual extensions of stay, i.e. you shall report your address 90 days from last address report, even that you have been given permission to stay for another yeat between the two reports dates. However a few places the application for extension of stay - which application includes one's address - is also considered as 90-day address report; that is for example the case where I live. When I get my passport back with a new stamp for another one year permission to stay in the Kingdom, I'll also have a slip stampled into my passport with a new 90-day address report date, 90 days from my application date for extension of stay...????
  15. A usufruct gives you the right to "harvest the fruits of the land" - it originates from ancient Roman law - and can in Thailand last for up to 30 years, or your lifetime, depending of what is agreed. You are not allowed to build anything on that land, or make any constructions, or demolish any constructions, without approval from the land owner, preferably a written permissen; for building a house you shall preferably have a superficies permission/servitude...????
  16. No, a usufruct declared as servitude is valid even if the land is sold or transferred.
  17. Yes you can be owner of a house that is either new build, or already earlier separated from the land under the house. To be owner of the house that you are building, you'll need... a superficies, or similar, permission from the land owner to build a construction/house of the land all architect drawings made with your name as house owner a building permission from the tessa ban-office in your name all building constructor contracts issued in your name all money transfers for construction made from your account, and/or receipt for payments carrying your name The above documents are your proof of house ownership. When the house is 80 percent or more completed you can apply for a house number and a blue house book at the tessa ban-office, same office that issued your permission to build the house. You will be registered as house master - which is not proof of ownership, nor is the blue house book - which means that only you can approve Thai names to be added to the blue house book. When registered at the tessa ban-office you will be the person receiving the property tax bill, at the revenue office you can be exempted from property tax for the first 10 million baht value of the house, if the house is used as home, which requires a confirmation letter from the tessa ban-office. If you one day sell the house, it can be registered separate from the land for a new owner; however selling the house will be dependent of whatever agreement there is for using the land, a usufruct is to my knowledge not transferable, so only the above documents have meaning for you as proof of ownership. For your info, I'm owner of my house as per above documentation...????
  18. 25th October Samui +11 new cases Phangan, no new cases Koh Tao, no new cases 26th October Samui +14 new cases Phangan +3 new cases Koh Tao, no new cases
  19. To my knowledge, you need to be registered as resident on Samui to be eligible for vaccination on the island. If you live in Chiang Mai, you are eligible for your vaccination up there, but you probably need to follow the province's regulations.
  20. In the always unbearable bright light of hindsight, a hotel room - even if one needed to pay for full 24 hours - would have been cheaper...
  21. It might be depending on where you live in the nation. Where I live the hi-so thais - and there are relative many of them - sends their children to a local private school with English program for the primary years, i.e. kindergarten to P6, and then to a selected "right" private schools in mainly the Bangkok area; some boys would be send to a military school for potential career options. The better, and also more expensive, private Thai school with bi-lingual program - the school has English language and other subjects on Cambridge level with native English speaking teachers, and furthermore tuition in Chinese language - has about half fully Thai children, and the other half is children from mixed marriage plus a few with foreign parents. Most of the children from the mixed or foreign parents continue in international schools after P6, either domestic or abroad, while most Thai children are send to boarding schools in mainly Bangkok area. In the later few years a number of better off Thais began to send their children to the international schools for better later education options, which might include finishing Cambridge A-level or IB in a boarding high school abroad. or some of the excellent, but also quite expensive, international schools in Bangkok. However the majority in the international schools in my area are children from mixed marriage or foreign parents.
  22. From the article... Private schools are business, and therefore the goal is to make money. A real problem might well be online tuition. which for several reasons is not worth the school fees; some private schools are relative expensive. I fully understand parents that saves their money until normal conditions re-appear.
