loong replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Of course, it doesn't look luxurious now. -
A duck a day keeps the doctor away - but not the snake catchers!
loong replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
Obviously, whoever writes these headlines is trying to be clever but I just don't get it! I know of "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", but a duck????? What is that about? -
Good choreography.

Anyone can sign for it. Years ago I got a new UK passport from the embassy in Bangkok. For some reason they delivered it to the local shop and they signed for it. Other more recent deliveries have been signed for by the condo cleaner.

Hospital, Insurance, and Immigration problem.
loong replied to afm171's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Some hospitals issue a card once you are registered with them. They do not necessarily want to see your passport again. -
I don't think that there are any restrictions enforced are there? Maybe it depends on the area. I can hear Thai bars in Khon Kaen drums and bass thumping until 3 AM.

Chula Hospital bans all visits to ward patients as new COVID-19 cases surge
loong replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I don't take it as a knock. My reply was meant to be "tongue in cheek". I meant that the official figures do not indicate any surge (ie official figures are probably false) and that the hospital has access to more reliable and accurate figures than the government is releasing. -
Chula Hospital bans all visits to ward patients as new COVID-19 cases surge

What surge? I don't see any surge in the reported daily cases. 2 - 2.5 K Maybe the hospital has access to a different set of figures? -
What an arrogant OP! Why shouldn't people complain? They can complain if they wish and I really don't suppose that they care what the OP thinks, possibly wonder why the OP cares about people complaining. Almost certainly wondering why the OP should complain about their complaints! Is it just expats complaining that upsets the OP so much or should Thais stop complaining about how much more expensive things have become over the last year? Believe me, Thais are complaining. A year ago chicken breast in Big C was around 50 Baht/Kilo. Today it is 103 Baht! That is hardly a small increase. Many items are 50-100% higher than they were a year ago. Have you any idea how these price increases affect a single Mother on minimum wage? They are paying more and have less money in their pocket to start with because it costs the so much more in fuel to get to work. 10 Baht increases may mean nothing to smug expats who like to look down on people with less money than them, but those 10 Baht's add up and mean a lot to lower paid Thais. Maybe the OP should learn some humility and empathy for people who have less money to spare. Just for the record, the price increases don't affect me much at all as I still spend less than my income, but I still feel for people who are affected.

Loud??? Now that's an understatement! speak louder??? No, they have to shout because the music is so loud! Mr Anutin, did you know that there are noise laws in this country? Of course they are not enforced just like many other laws. I am sure that many many Thais suffer from hearing damage due to the noise levels that they are subjected to. That is why so many Thais shout instead of conversing normally. Hearing damage, that falls under "health" doesn't it? I don't need a decibel meter to know that the music in these venues is excessively loud. Mr Anutin, why don't you see to it that the noise laws are enforced and maybe people could talk without shouting into each other's faces. Anyway, they have got to hope that the number of infections does rise dramatically. If it doesn't people will be asking what was the point of keeping these venues closed for over a year.

I had to have a PCR test recently prior to having minor surgery. Don't know if it is required in all hospitals.

loong replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand
I don't know. The police just wouldn't be the same with no Sting. -
Surin: Motorcyclist killed after neck becomes entangled in "hanging wires"

How is that related to hanging wires? -
Many consumer products in Thailand about to increase in price
loong replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Certainly some people can save but the vast majority can not. Do you really think that a Thai person earning less than 10,000 Baht per month can save anything? Especially a single mother with a couple of kids.
