I've been using maxnet4home for a few months now and it works fine so far; 400/200 on a 512/256 line. Ordered the 1024/512 update to be activated end of the month (tried to get them to do it instantly but hey, no can do). Anyone has the 1024/512 from maxnet4home already? Any good?
The Maxnet4home 512/256 works fine apart from in the evenings when it starts to crawl along. I went to TT&T to enquire about the 1024/512 and they said I couldn't get the "Up Speed" promotion (first three months at 512 price?) as I hadn't had the 512/256 for long enough (6 months). I think that's what they said. I'll go back again and hope to see the only lady there who actually speaks understandable English and get the story again.
But I'm more interested in p2p. This Maxnet 512 blocks it. I want to know if the 1024 still blocks it. I asked the lady who could speak English about it and she just gave me a copy of the "Terms and Conditions". And, of course, nothing there about p2p.

This government has been incredibly clever in that regard. Whenever it has faced some sort of crisis - a day when bad publicity was likely - bingo, some other rabbit gets pulled out of the hat.
I wonder if they copied UK's "New Labour"? Or maybe the other way round?

Does anybody know if this "Peter Watkins Jones" is the same Peter Jones that owns the Samui Bungy jump, the Aussie pub West of Big Budda, part owner of Coco Blues, part owner of the sailing club and developer of townhouses on Samui?
This Peter is an Aussie while the report says he's a Brit. About the same age. Anyway, wondering if it's the same guy.
And Crispin what's is name being the same guy who runs and owns Samui Phangan Real Estate Magazine?
If you Google "Crispin Samui" you will find the anwser: http://www.networksamui.com/friends.html (Which is "Yes").
He also runs "Captain Caveman Dive Centre". Remember: all are innocent until proven guilty.

Even more oddly, my copy seems to have omitted the word ommited.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
My copy doesn't have the word "gullible".
I'd just like to say hello to member "eddieold" who is member number 574 but has made only 24 posts! Keep 'em coming eddie!
And then there's "chuckd" member 131 who's made 199 posts! Slow down chuck!
And finally, "chuckygobyebye", member 527, posts 40! What is going on here?
Back on topic... I hope the cops get more of the scum that cheat and lie to farangs, and ruin their dreams of retirement.

As I have come to understand that there are more than a few Pink Floyd enthusiests on this board, and as I am one myself, I am interested in what you all think of it...
I am in Australia so I am hoping that it has also been released where my fellow fans on the board are situated. For me, it was only released last week after many, many pro-longed release dates.
Myself, I was a little disapointed with the picture and sound quality. The picture is a little grainy / noisy and the sound is no where close to the standard of some of my other music DVD's.
I appreciate my music greatly and I am lucky enough to own a pretty good sound system, which is bad in the fact that I notice quality differences alot more than I used to.
Don't get me wrong though.
I am still happy it's finally upon the world of DVD and it is a pleasure to watch. As are the special features. (the bootleg section is great)
So what are your thoughts on the subject?
Adam
Is it a Thai copy?

And soon it will be a 30+30+30+30 year lease they recommend
Yeah, I've got one of them. Cool, eh?

hit the nail on the head john,
but just to be on the safe side lets take it that one step further and really get things in order
#1 dont be a dumb arse and marry a bar girl 10 points for that one.
# 2 dont be a dildo and marry a really young girl 10 points to me for an awesome bit of work
# 3 dont get married at all 300 points to me again
...
Well, I felt like ripping you apart until I realised everything you said here was correct. And I scored zero points in your test.
sorry about that jai yen, but all im trying to do is help a few johns from ending up in the big tiger
and a few thai girls live a bit longer as im not really noticing posters trying to give poor johnny a good bit of friendly advice as they really need to be guided through the perils of dealing with the bar girls.
Seems I didn't understand the scoring system in your little test. I should've said that I scored 320 points, not zero!!

....but I'm probably wrong....I guess I have an overactive imagination..
Chownah
Agreed.

YES! I totally agree. Thailand is far too dangerous. I think many types of tourists should consider other places to go. Perhaps East Los Angeles would appeal or maybe Watts or even Compton. Rio in South America is a great place also if you have an armed guard after dark...
Couldn't agree more! Please tourists , STAY AWAY! This place is sooooo dangerous.. it's not even worth your time looking at those holiday brochures...
Don't be a wally and visit Nana Plaza if you are old, fat and are attracted to Thai women.
I would have thought that this is exactly what you should do if you are old, fat and attracted to Thai wo
men.
Never been there in my life. Why is this place again?
I believe that part about food poisoning. My worst experience w/ food poisoning was in LOS. I was bedridden for a week w/ cramps and diarrhea. When I vacation in LOS, it's usually diarrhea on a daily basis.
Same for me, twice, last one was really serious.
Yeah, always sick here, never a day goes by without stomach pains, diarrhoeal, etc. No place for foreigners. Best find somewhere else.

The only one I ever saw that was run professionally is across from Dynasty Hotel, Soi Nana4.
Nice place. Expensive though.
Try the one a little further down soi 4 - near to Nana City Inn (opposite The Hillary Bar). Never had a problem there - I even installed Firefox and a few of my favourite extensions (and left shortcuts on the Desktop).

Since you "won" your court case, why is their ANY delay in the insurance company paying up? I don't understand.
And sad to see no other replies to this topic.

A . leave all your money, investments and other valuables in your own country and only play
with what you consider is a fair thing to part with. this includes your heart and sanity.
B. live off the interest from your investments and only ever rent whilst you play in thailand....

Hey you guys! The footy's on!

Something very strange will have happened to Thailand if there aren't a few hundred taxis waiting...
-
I heard about this story, but I didn't know that the men were connected to the father's bodyguard. Somehow, that doesn't surprise me at all.
Also, the Thai Journalists' Association is being criticized (yet again) for showing a picture of the rape victim.
...and rightly so. I saw the pictures and could not believe they showed the 13 year old girl. In fact, identifying ANY of the family would not be allowed in the UK as it would lead to the identification of the girl. Unbelievable. Shameful.
-
Anyone hear anything about this? Sounds very bad - in Thai TV now.
German family - husband/father not in Thailand - robbed by 4 Thai men. The German boy managed to get out of the house and hide, but the 13 year old daughter was raped for an hour.

Slightly off-topic, but hopefully close enough... I bought a plastic watering can in Big C recently - the type that is manufactured in two halves and then welded together by heating the plastic. I didn't notice that the seam at the bottom had a split in it about 10cm long and up to 1 mm wide.
I had often wondered if returned goods were put back on the shelves for other unsuspecting customers to buy, so I wrote my initials inside the can - where the water goes in - and took it back.
At Big C they had the cheek to ask if the split was there when I bought it. Anyway, after filling in the form I got my money back.
A few days later I was back in Big C and had a look at the watering cans. Sure enough, there was my one with the broken seam - and my initials - back on the shelf.
Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware - everywhere.

Wow, such a hateful statement
Not hateful, just a little ill-informed. She goes on...
The men disgusted me so much, Ididnt enjoy that part of the trip at all. Ann and her family arrived at about
11pm in our hotel suite (which kicked ass!! we were on the 31st floor,
I got some great photos).. I was already asleep so I didnt hang out at
all with them.
In bed by 11pm? And you didn't "hang out" with your sister? You've a lot to learn about Thailand, Lukrung. I should come for a longer visit next time and make sure you really like it before you decide to move here.

...Perhaps I just misunderstand the whole concept altogether...
