If the policy states that it covers flood, it doesn't mean that they cover/pay out 100%. Please check the coverage-clause in the policy.
Same counts for every home-insurance. I've heard of examples of theft from homes, where the insurance just paid 10% of the damage and missing items.

A bit weird.......the bank noticed 8 late payments, which IMHO should add up to THB 64,000.
Any medium educated bank employee could figure out that there was only 1 late payment.
They probably just gave you an obvious reason; if you solve this problem either with Thanachart or Bangkok Bank, they will have another reason.
Try another bank.
On the other hand.........the invoices regarding your car loan all have due dates on them........never noticed?

That may be the reason and answers to the posts about the immense waiting-times between check in and passing the immigration?

If one doesn't learn a kid how to ride a bike, how to speak, how to swim, how to talk, how to toast a slice of bread..........how can the kid now?
Has nothing to do with culture. Happens everywhere.

Great. Another one who doesn't give a toss about the laws of the land, and dismisses discussions of visas as ethics.
Firstly, anyone advising you will likely be breaching forum rules by encouraging you to break the law. Secondly, how do you feel about illegal immigrants flouting the laws in your own country?
Dont agree that advising OP in this instance in encouragement to break law or breach forum rules .
How can it not be breaking the law? It's very black and white. The OP wants to come here and work to build his business. No problem with that of course, providing he goes through the legal process of applying for the appropriate visas, work permits etc. And yet he blatantly says he is not interested in that and will instead be using a student visa.
To work without a work permit is, ipso facto, illegal. It can't be contradicted.
I would also add this. It is precisely this kind of 'the rules don't apply to me' attitude that forces the Thai authorities to continually tighten the visa rules for foreigners, making it more and more difficult for people who want to be here legally.
Quote of the OP: "I don't want an ethical discussion about working visas. I'm going to get a student visa and study Thai. I know I shouldn't be working without the proper visa, but hey, don't judge me. You know how great it is there."
So, please next time: Read the OP fully before you make a post".

Go to a proper aircon shop and buy a unit that eventually will end up and fits in your new home.
Doesn't have to fit (BTU wise) in your rental home.
Explain to the shop that they install now, de-install and re-install later this year.
You could also think of a mobile unit, but they're not as efficient as a mounted unit.

Seems to me that they have hacked / used your facebook-account or any other social-network-account you are involved in.

Suppose there are a 1,000 posts per day on here.
It's easy to skip 800 posts which are absolutely not relevant or insulting.
Unfortunately, without those 800 irrelevant and insulting posts, this forum is dead meat.
Most of the posters show only their creativity in riding on the OP's back and do not have enough brain-power to come up with OP's themselves, knowing that their precious posts will be buried in loads of crappy replies.
If people first start to read a post properly, think about a reasonable reply and then post, this forum would look a lot better and would be even more valuable for expats, Thailand-interestees and all other folks.

A bit expensive
700 x Iphones at approx 26,000 is under 20,000,000 baht, and Ipads are not that expensive
so where is the rest of the money going?
iPocket?

THB 2,200,000,000 for this project which only contains 900,000 tablets.
What about power outlets to charge them during the day?
What about proper wifi-facilities at schools to use the tablets optimally? At least a wireless-intranet at school would be advisable.
Without the above, the tablets will only be used as a game-console.

"Over ten fire engines rushed to the scene but it was difficult for firemen to reach the seventh floor with the hoses and the fire ladder was difficult to operate at the area had many power cables."
now they might realize why those pesky farangs have such strict fire codes in their high rises.
Fico Place is owned by Fico Corporation controlled by the Srichawla family, who operate the Grand Millennium Sukhumvit Hotel, Le Fenix Sukhumvit Hotel and Fenix Tower in Sukhumvit Soi 31 among many other businesses.
I suppose that all of those buildings will be inspected over the next couple of weeks.............

What if there were no pig farms around but chicken farms [khai baan], or rice farms [kauw baan] or tobacco farms [Van Nelle baan] ? How does that fit into your theory of 'pig houses' being the origin of the word 'village'
Joking of course.......IMHO Pattayaparent has the most sensible explanation, although Gone may have a point also.

Isn't a postcard something that resembles reality?

If you find your current employer willing to keep you in the WP-system for a few weeks until your new employer sorted the paperwork out you're doing good. Offer your current employer to pay the income tax over this period!!!
As soon as your new employer is ready to apply for a new WP, you cancel the old one. Immigration will cancel your stay, based on your old WP, and grant you a new permission of stay (probably 3 months) in order to arrange the new WP.
IF you need a new non-immigrant 'B' visa, it will be sufficient to obtain one in the neighboring countries. This will give you a single entry 3 month visa and is sufficient to arrange a WP and extensions.

I think that one should be careful about what to post and in what way.
Libeling is heavily punished in Thailand.
A general warning is okay, but pictures of boats, people and/or names can be dangerous.
To be honest......how long and how many times have people been warned for scams: jet-skis, metered taxis, tourist guides, motorbike taxis, time sharing sellers............and people are still falling for it. It's like trying to fill up a bottomless well.

In our time (approx. 3 years ago) and with our immigration (Chonburi - Pattaya branch), ther was needed:
- copy passport
- application extension
- 2 photo's
- map school + home student + immigration office marked
- documents from MoE stating that applicant is a student
- registration school + copy id of registered Thai person
Extensions went from 90 days up to 360 days.

The country where I'm from doesn't publish suicides anymore unless they are suspicious.

Depending on age of the car, cc's and actual value of the car, you may pay up to 250% of the value in taxes.
Import is possible if the car was actually registered in the importers name and if the importer would like to import the car within 6 (or 12 months) after his arrival in Thailand with a long term visa.
If you live abroad with your Thai spouse and do have the intention to move to Thailand over 6+ months, put the car in your wifes name; easier for import and cheaper in taxes.

It's getting better and better every day.........first a 13 yo which was caught selling himself for sexual services and now a 14 yo arrested as a gang leader......not very long ago an 11yo arrested for the rape of a 9yo.
What's my point? I've no clue........fact is that I read it more and more..........what's going on with the parents?

"Independent witnesses, claim the coach was in the fast-lane when it moved over to the left side of the road to park" have seen this happening many times and not only with motorbikes, but also with trucks and other buses.
Can't blame the bus drivers who were taken from their Kubota and set behind the wheel of a 16ton vehicle carrying at least 52 passengers.
-
Oh Guzzi please.......your action-plan sounds great, but the coppers won't get anything from it.
Instead they check on motorbikes and cars and "control" the traffic by playing with the switches.

I suppose that you have a contract.
There will be a credit limit on your phone-bill(s).
If you are in Thailand, set the credit limit to the double amount of your usual monthly bill.
If you're going abroad, you will receive messages as soon as the limit is reached AND that the provider adjusted the limit.
In that way you can either stop using your phone or accept the "damage" and continue using your phone.
Don't forget to decrease your credit limit to a normal level, once returned to Thailand.
I don't know about other providers, but yes, AIS is pretty steep.

I used to use a N86 8MP which I bought October 2010.
Did have some problems with Ovi-Suite, downloads and use of the GPS which required a re-boot before being able to find a satellite.
Last Saturday I received one call which I answered on my way out from Bangkok towards Chonburi. At some point I needed my GPS to get me out of the area and point me in the right direction...........screen was white, turning the phone off and on again didn't help.
Anyway, at home in Pattaya I headed to Power Buy and got me a Samsung DUOS Champ (THB 2,500) and guess what? The next morning my Nokia was working again. Will bring it to the Nokia service center and sell it at TukCom.........for me NEVER a Nokia again (it was not the first Nokia with technical problems).
Buy Condo While Live Abroad Without Thai Visa: Possible?

I'm not sure, because I've no experience, but shouldn't a purchaser of property be able to prove that the money for the purchase of property is actually from abroad?
