  1. As said the basic rate only covers the room, everything else is extra. That is their business model.

For information I believe this is the basic room without extras......

    post-150466-0-92390600-1351123070_thumb.

Sorry i must have missed something and yes I have read my request again I was asking about car parking

i AM WELL AWARE OF THEIR POSITION ON CHARGING FOR AC ETC BUT NOWHERE ON THEIR WEBSITE DOES IT INDICATE EXTRA FOR CAR PARKING AND MY REQUEST WAS FOR SUITABLE PLACES CLOSE BY

Thank you though for your suggestion and may I make one for you ? you seem to have to much time on your hands so maybe get yourself a job or hobby mm you have one it seems !!!!

Just calculate exactly what you'll have to pay if you would like a breakfast, wifi, a/c, extra set of towels, car park, 24-hour electricity, etc, etc.

Have a nice stay at Dusit!! smile.png

  2. Of course there is also the matter of the new system of numbers and characters on the plates.

A lot of people have been waiting in registering their car and now the supplier has to work OT to get things done; of course the quality is suffering from this.

I'm waiting 2 months now for my plates and me was told last week, to wait one more month.

I suppose that the BIB do not enforce the rules regarding inter-provincial and night-time trips with red-plates.

  3. DMK and BKK parking are the same.........THB 50 per hour and THB 250 per day.

For a period of 14:00 until 20:00 the next day, I paid THB 500.

BTW..........parking facilities at DMK are so so........I don't know if there are more parking facilities, but the facilities on hand, 2 weeks ago weren't sufficient.

  4. Sounds excessive to me. I ran a red light in the far left lane at a T-intersection (as all the Thais usually do), and was fined B400. I did have to go to the station, however. This was also in Banglamung. I don't run that light any more.

Over the last few months, they put up signs at that kind of intersections stating "On red stop here!"

If there is no sign like the above, "running a red light" may be at risk of a fine.

  5. There is a rather large pharmacy along Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya between Pattaya Klaang and Pattaya Nua (Seaside).

They sell beds, sticks, wheelchairs, oxygen sets and probably also your desired eqp.

  6. another sad story and to be witnessed by the husband hope the child pulls through, but a 21yr.old driving surely that cant be right,if it is at least he didnt leave the scene.

And why is that? A 21 yo can drive buses and trucks as long as he is in possession of a proper driver license.

I know of one particular guy who would like to work a transport company.

In order to drive an 18 wheel truck he had to attend a training in Bang Na for approx. 6 weeks, failed several tests and finally after 3 months he passed and was allowed on the road, to start with a 10 wheel truck. This guy was 37.

It doesn't mean that a truck driver is always classified, but if you see the random road checks by the high way police......they'd better be.

  7. Don't worry MidoriApple, I usually have no more than a letter of invitiation from a company, a copy of the company registration, a list of share holders and a copy of the ID of the main shareholder.

That together with my passport + a copy and 2 pass photo's are sufficient.

Documents 7 + 8 are just to prove that the company in Thailand is actually existing and operating under the law.

  8. Uhm, the father admitted that his son spent most of the nighttime in internet-cafes and following that activity the boy/man went to work.

Is "father" just a job-title or didn't he read the job-description.

Anyway, a sad story.........a lot of those boys sleep on the beach, guard the beach chairs set up the beach-chair areas in the morning and they are released when the beach-chair owners show up. Then they go to their next job.

  9. I don't think too many British English teachers in Thailand speak with this upper class accent.

I don't understand many of the British English teachers and I'm a Brit.

Well basically that's what I posted yesterday.......about the native English Welsh and Scottish teachers.......and therefore my post was removed.

  10. OK, the motorcyclist was riding on the wrong side of the road and is of course in the wrong, but I would not just rely on so-called "witness statements" offered by the driver. A bit strange, really.

I have had quite a few close encounters with the kamikaze drivers of OA Transport...they are frequently speeding, do not give way when they ought to (entering Sukhumvit Rd when the lights had turned red already for him), overtake dangerously (overtake into oncoming traffic on Naklua Road) just to name a few dangerous driving habits.

And so do the drivers of Pattaya Bus, Pegas, Hong Tong, NCA, 407, and all the others

  11. Let's face it..........don't we all hate the "running after you sales people" in a shop or showroom?

That's probably the case with the sales-people at Mityon.......they know that Thai like the attention and will never ask to be helped, but farangs would like to be left alone.

Of course, it's pretty normal, that IF you ask for attention that you will get it.

  12. I was stopped a few weeks back as was every farang on a motorbike - this is the Jet Ski scam under another name - its a bloody disgace. They must be making a fortune. I have been passed several times on my Bicycle (which they ignore) and they have a constant stream of people having to hand over money.

They grilled me about my Internional Driving Licence. The GF never lets these dicks off. She gave them both barrels and told them she was going to record them on her iPad and upload it on You tube. This was enough for them to back off and leave me alone.

Its crooks like these that should be locked up. Not innocent people who have all the documents but have to give up 400 Baht just to get them back from their grubby mits.

I avoid this stretch totally now on the Motorbike.

Then also avoid 2nd Road in Pattaya near Mike's Shoppingmall..........a force of 25 coppers are annoying bypassers for the last few days.

  13. Once they apply the law as it should for the drug mules> death penalty , those kinds of arrests will be old news coffee1.gif

    http://www.thaivisa....t-with-4kg-ice/

No way.........it's not the punishment that keep people from doing bad things, it's the chance of getting caught.

BTW.......Thai are not really impressed by death-penalty..........the next life will be better.

Lock 'm up in a haunted house for a few days.

  14. Looks like a Transport Co. bus... As usual, the news report doesn't name the operator of the coach that crashed...

How hard is it for a bus driver to see and make allowance for a motorcycle merging into his lane???

How hard is it for a motorcyclist to see a bus on the main road and make allowance for it before causing the bus to have to take avoiding action???

Not hard........if the motorbike-driver takes the effort to look at all. In Thailand there is the unwritten rule: Everything that hits me from behind is at fault.

  15. Bo77ocks.

Did n't they used to have a KFC or BK next to the 7-Eleven in that place? Damm. That sucks balls.

No internet. Are you kidding me? And honestly how long would that take to install. Get it together Air Asia, you're (marginally) better than this.

MacDonald, KFC, internet, coffee shops, toilets, immigration.............it has all nothing to do with AirAsia.

    Please complain to AOT.......

On 3-10-2012 some King Power parts needed to be opened and there are definitely more to places to eat in the future. I noticed that NokAir offers free internet.........but then you have to travel with NokAir (login is booking-number).
