  1. I remain puzzled by Brits who insist they're English. And care about soccer clubs and ales. I insist I'm from Texas :),

Why would you be puzzled ??

How would you feel if i said you were from Iowa ??

Same difference, ( Great ) Britain is made up of 4 Countries, USA is made up of 52 States, you insist you're from Texas & i insist i'm from England, & proud of it too, like you i'd assume..:D

    For over 50 years - 50 states.

  2. I combined my BA degree in religion, 21 hours of accounting, a short career in youth education and managing religious education, 26 years of government service, raising six kids almost single-handed, tutoring ESL in Texas, years of peace-making in southern Mexico, a TEFL course in Thailand, and a 60-year old ponytail to teach teenagers in Lamphun. The ponytail did the trick. :)

  3. Sripat speaks English, Appointments at entrance facing Suan Dok Gate, first floor.

I don't understand how anybody can recommend Sripat, the place is like a busy shopping mall..... If you're travelling by car forget it, you can't get parked within a few miles of the place, real handy if you're sick....

Hogwash. We drove a big ute directly to the ER. There is a free car park at the corner of Suthep at the traffic light, with free van to and from Sripat - a 125-meter walk.
  4. Judaism HAD the longest history of practical pacifism in history. It is now violent again. Christianity started out as pacifist for over 300 years, and has been 99% violent for the last 1,600 years.

If these religions based on scripture can change that drastically, Buddhism can change.

    Ummm 99% violent?

where the heck was your church? Afghanistan?

    Sorry for the thread hijack

Are you saying the Church is 100 percent violent? A CPT Quaker who was kidnapped by Muslims was murdered in Iraq. 45 Catholic absolute pacifists were murdered by their Evangelical neighbors on 12/22/1997. We go to conflict zones as unarmed peacemakers.
