Kidding aside, let's give CMMail time to improve.

Marshbags, my condolences. I get so much flak for suggesting that private Thai schools are poorly run.

My first visit to southernmost Mexico was when they burned their cornfields, an annual event for millennia. I returned to Houston - America's most industrialized and air-polluted metro area - to discover that the smoke had preceded me, causing smoke pollution to soar to all-time highs...1,600 km away.

Agreed. Whom are they kidding?

I nearly wrote "Cheese Whiz."

The Mayas I lived with in the Highlands of Mexico subsisted for millennia on little more than boiled black beans, corn tortillas, and later rice.

Just before the hero in my novel is assassinated, "Macabre song titles raced across his mind: Final Countdown by Europe; The End by the Doors; Blaze of Glory by Bon Jovi."Besides, he can only cook if the stereo is blaring out rock music and if there's enough space in the kitchen for him to dance. What a quote I wonder what rock music he likes.... Bon Jovi "Dead or Alive"?

Can we please all lower the tone and not get personal and insulting?

Good for Chula and Mahidol, but two spokes dont make a hub, and they didn't achieve their status teaching in English.

San Antonio...we went to the later LaFonda on far N Broadway, in the Heights, nearly next to Pat's Drugs, almost in a basement...the Bun and Barrel on Austin Highway...I knew a kid who lived in the VA Cemetery, with a short-wave radio in his basement...the world epicenter of Tex-Mex (not the cemetery)...Geyer's Ice Cream...Buckhorn Saloon...the breweries...Sunken Gardens...Raspas on Alamo Plaza...Ozzie Osbourne pissing on the Alamo...

I did enough 550-mile days on the 550, 400 and 850. I made it to South Memphis in June; literally squeezed/wrung the sweat out of my leathers. No fun at all - and that was on Interstate freeway.

Time to cool off. Closed for a while. Thank y'all.

Reviewing the OP, it seems clear it was almost all about UNIS:
..."However, to achieve growth, prestigious Thai universities should reach out to other countries and offer interesting promotions to foreigners."

The Commission on Higher Education's Bureau of International Cooperation Strategy said there were 70,174 university students attending international and English programmes in 2008,

Princess Yiwang Pindarica of Bhutan, who is furthering her bachelor's degree at an international university in Thailand, presided over the opening ceremony

Rachane said the exhibition this year highlighted specialised fields in Thailand's academic institutions, including the Aviation Institute, which was accredited worldwide, and King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, which made the world championship rescue-robots.

Thanks, Twais. Many of the links work wrong, but it's quite a large operation. Six years to a DDS after matayom; even MS and Ph.D. specialties. No link to costs.Whilst we're on the subject, where are dental schools? I think CMU has one. -
Indeed, why do they? Women cone in all varieties. And just as mature men may no longer have functioning testicles, some women no longer have breasts. But they still have gender, feelings, friends, family, non-bar girl careers, hobbies, political opinions, etc..... maybe now the more astute ball-bearing sorts will condescend to comment on the real point of her rant?Gentlemen (and you know who you are), why do you relentlessly pigeon hole the fairer sex?

Even in San Antonio, the El Paso or Pace brand offered cans of prepared chili, with or without beans...but their commercials said if the chili came from New York City, hang the cook!.

Since virtually rejiggering my XP virtual memory, 24 hours ago, the low sign hasn't popped up again. Now to remodulate the axion fragalyzer to deliver 9 tetravolts of baked beans......

Post 6 probably refers to Rajivej, across from current Holiday Inn.

Back on topic: I'm left here with one federal insurance coverage for retired civil servants; FEHBP. A well-informed friend tells me the Congress may change that, and we'll wake up to discover unexpected changes.
