  1. We moved to Phayao area because that was where her parents were. We built a house in the same village and live about 50m from their home. We use to live in Phuket but glad we did move. I think sometimes did we do the right thing. Two seconds later the answer is always yes. We are about 13 km from Phayao and 110 km from Big C in Chiang Rai. Chiang Mai is also close but the road is over mountain is dangerous. That is why we travel to Chaing Rai instead. I do not miss the beach. Never swam in Phuket but did like the views. The locals are great and even with my limited Thai can have a good laugh with them

  2. But as the new plates now have smaller letters & numbers unless the shops are up to speed you will get old style plate doesn't match age of vehiclesmile.png .

Look at the right hand corner of your plates. Government seal pressing.

    You are totally correct

Thai vehicle license plates' are license plates displayed on all motorized road vehicles in Thai, as required by law. The designs, colors, shapes and dimensions are specified in Ministry of Transport's regulations. Only license plates issued by the Department of Land Transport, Ministry of Transport, are legal

  3. Australians do not generally get about hating others,

I'd disagree - Aussies have always had a nice bigoted streak running through history, from the decimation/marginalisation of Aboriginals and the Kanaks to the poll tax on Chinese, immigration officers demanding German would-be migrants speak Scottish Gaelic to pass the test, treatment of Italians/Greeks (<deleted>, so quaintly termed), Vietnamese . . . etc . . . etc . . .

Ah, how about the White Australia Policy that wasn't dismantled until Whitlam sunk his teeth into it . . . (I did a thesis on the White Australia Policy at Uni - fascinating subject)

We may pass ourselves off as being laid back and tolerant but as a nation we have proven otherwise.

As for Thais . . . there really aren't the fundamentals for anti-Caucasian groups to form. 'We' don't compete for their jobs, nor do we vote or anything that might threaten them as a group . . . as for taking 'their' women . . . yea, right.

So, it isn't a matter of tolerance - rather a matter of 'us' being relatively insignificant to the majority of Thais

Look at any country you will find their history to be flawed. White Australia policy disappeared in the early seventies. Almost 40 years ago.Things do change.

  4. When I was frequenting Phuket I drank in a bar where they played all music 60s to 90s. I ask where it came from and I was told it was from a radio station in Singapore. Only music was played. It was a great little complex. There were about 4 bars.

what station is that? would be good if i could stream online

I am sorry I have no idea. I was told this by the owner and did not ask. That was last year.

  5. A SENSATIONAL! win to the Swannies!! What a hard fought game it was. The Swans won all the stats, except the inside 50's

    Inside 50s - Adel 59, Swans 37

The amount of smothers was also amazing. It was 8 -8 at 3/4 time.

There was a bit of screaming and shouting coming from my room. Not sure ill make it through the next final and GF

I watch it upstairs in my computer TV room. . The wife asked me at one stage who I was talking to. I had to explain that it was the TV after some umps decisions and then cellabrations after some goals.

Was also great to see Goodes back to form. nothing like watching him on the run and hitting his targets and setting up plays. Couple of good plays by Jetta also. Should see his confidence back in two weeks

Goodes was awesome. The best he has played since his return from injury. Jetta was a little tentative to start with but improved as the game progressed. RLT was great in defense after playing forward this season.

  7. Good win to Hawthorn last night. A great win to Swans this afternoon. Their defense was amazing. Adelaide won the inside 50s 59 to 37. Sydney won all the other stats.

Well done, the Swans had the wood on Adelaide all day.I couldn't watch the game last night as the picture was up to sh**.There was a large slow storm front in the direction that the dish points in.

Well done mate. Your GF prediction is still on tract. You must be very happy after today. I only got to see the second half but I was going for the dockers. They have another road trip next week. I hope they go well again.
