  1. Crucial game for the Eagles tonight.

Win and they stay in the top 4 with a chance at the flag and, at least, two finals games to boost the coffers.

(They did beat the Hawks earlier in the season after failing to score in the first half)

Lose and they may well play Freo in an elimination final without having the full advantage of a home final.

(They did get a hiding from Freo a few weeks back. Freo always play above themselves in a derby)

With some top players back it could be a good game.

Leigh Matthews says that Freo should win by less than 10 goals. That way they will ensure they have a home final. http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8525423

This also depends on the game tonight. If West Coast wins then there will not be a chance of the local derby.

Austrlalian Network are already advertising the final series. We should see all games live. This will be good.

  2. Here are my tips for the final home and away games.I picked these before last weekend as I used the afl ladder predictor to calculate my final 8.

    Carlton

    Colligwood

    Richmond

    Hawthorn

    Sydney

    Adelaide

    Brisbane

    Nth Melbourne

    Fremantle

The only difference for me is I went for St Kilda to win over Carlton.

I had to go for the Swans. I think it will be a hard match for them at Geelong. If they win they get a home final.

  3. post-140056-0-42828300-1346028332_thumb.

Although the Lions will probably end up only one win less than Richmond, a 25% difference in percentage indicates the gap between the top 12 sides and the bottom 6 this year. If we had a two-tier competition (12 clubs in each), there would be a clear justification for the present bottom six being in Division 2. I've been away for a long time but would teams like Port Melbourne, and a couple of other ex-VFA clubs plus Tasmania still be contenders for the rest of Division 2?

I haven't considered the logistics or costs involved in a second division. It might be necessary for teams from No 19 - 24 to be Melbourne-based plus Tassie.

It would be good to see the Northern Territory in there, but may be beyond costing limits.

I think this has some merit. I have always wondered why Tasmania and NT don't have a team in AFL but then I seem to remember that NT were toying with the Idea a few years ago.One big advantage would be that two divisions of 12 teams each would allow each division to have a 22 match season and that would allow every team to play every other team twice rather than the farcical situation that exists now.Maybe would have to revert to a final four or see if they can they can devise a final 6.It's all pie in the sky for now but it is something that I would like to see.

The NT has a team in the NEAFL. They are called the NT Thunder. They play against Qld and NSW teams. The actual season for AFL in the NT is in the wet season. This is opposite time of the year then when it is played down south.

  4. Update.

This woman's appearing on Australian TV tomorrow night and it looks like she's claiming she was forced into a confession. The promo showed her being interviewed and saying something about the forced confession. Wonder how she's going to explain the CCTV footage away. Or maybe all isn't as it seems (I doubt it).

A Current Affair I think, or Today Tonight if I'm wrong.

I wonder how much she is being paid for the interview?

  5. Here is my final 8 with points.

    Sydney 72

    Adelaide 68

    Hawthorn 64

    Collingwood 64

    West Coast 60

    Fremantle 56

    Geelong 56

    Nth Melbourne 56

Good to see your team had a great win. You must be very happy. They had a great percentage booster as well. It appears you have another supporter now amongst our ranks. Post # 376 All I can hope for is for Sydney to win against Geelong to get a home game. It appears that they will play Adelaide but where is the question.

  6. My understanding is that you must do it at your home province- Immigration office, and that you can do it within 7 days before or after the actual date, though I personally have never let mine go beyond 90 days. There is also a mail-in option, though that involves a lot of red tape; necessary so that they can not say they didn't receive it on time.

You are right exept that is 15 days before not 7 http://www.immigration.go.th/ The mail in has to be to your home province immigration.

  7. Seems like the test is different in different provinces.

Contrary to what some geniuses have told you, a lot of people do fail the driving test. Nevertheless, I would strongly advise that you take one just so that you're legal.

The following is what you will need:

    - doctor's certificate - impossible to fail unless you are no longer breathing

    - document confirming your residential address in Thailand

    - letter from the immigration confirming the above (you will also need two photos for this document)

Go to your local Land Transport Dept. Show them above documents. Take a tag number. Wait to be called.

First test - colour test. Big board consisting of many different sized coloured balls (3 different colours - no prizes for guessing the right colours). You have to read out the colours as they are pointed out to you.

Second test - depth perception test (google this for details)

Third test - reaction test. Step on the accelerator. Step on the brake when red light comes on.

If you fail any of the above, consider taking taxis forever and a day.

    If you pass;

    - sit through 2 one hour instructional videos. The first is a real tear jerker - bring along tissues. The second will send you to sleep but try to resist as it will give you at least 2-3 correct answers in the theory test.

    Go for the driving test.

First test - Reverse parallel park (not forward parallel park - I don't know in which country one would forward parallel park).

Second test - stop in the box

Third test - drive forward into a box. Reverse out of the box (measures about 20 metres.

Other tests - stop where indicated by stop signs. Don't forget indicators. Oh, don't forget to switch on your lights either, and wear the seat belt and check your side mirrors.

If you fail any of the above, consider taking taxis for the rest of your life.

Go for the theory test. Good luck - you will need it. Beware of the trick questions (one has to do with a tank, one with a MINIMUM (not maximum) speed, one to do with parking, a couple to do with U-turns. You will need to get 25-26 out of 30 to pass In case you fail, note carefully that questions you got wrong - write them down. Resit the test (you have a second chance).

If you fail this test, you will have to take taxis.

I love your line about the geniuses. Your post is very accurate.

  8. Good win to Hawthorn and West Coast. Big match next week between them. I think that Hawthorn may win as it will be played in Melbourne. There are no sure things in this season There are many possiblities for the order of the first 4. Sydney will have to beat Geelong in Geelong to get a home game. This will be difficult but they did in round 22 last year. Carlton loss to GWS has sunk their chances to make the 8. Next weekend will be very interesting. It will be a great arm chair ride next weekend.

  9. Here is a new challange. Only 2 rounds left who can predict the first 4 or 8 in correct order.

Here is my 8 with their final points

It is a very big guess as percentage will be very important.

    Sydney 68

    Adelaide 68

    Hawthorn 64

    Coollingwood 64

    Eagles 64

    Nth Melb 60

    Geelong 60

    Freemantle 52

    Mate

I'm not sure these figures work.

    Do you mean Eagles 60?

If not, you're giving the Eagles 2 wins and you giving Hawks 1

and yet they're playing WCE next week and you've picked Syd tonightunsure.png

    Regards

    Will

Thanks for that. Yes West Coast are on 60. Just a little typo. Well picked up.

  10. But if i understand correctly your car will be registered and taxes will be paid, but you just don't have the white plates

I mean that you do have a blue book and a tax stikker.

I bought a new car on 6th April. Received my sticker and blue book in June. Still waiting for number plates. No red plates issued. I see a lot of cars without number plates.

  11. Here is a new challange. Only 2 rounds left who can predict the first 4 or 8 in correct order.

Here is my 8 with their final points

It is a very big guess as percentage will be very important.

    Sydney 68

    Adelaide 68

    Hawthorn 64

    Coollingwood 64

    Eagles 64

    Nth Melb 60

    Geelong 60

    Freemantle 52

I hope you're wrong (but suspect you're right), I really don't want to see an elimination final between Eagles and Freeemantle.

We would lose the home ground advantage we deserve for finishing fifth. I'd much rather have a team from elsewhere having to bear the travel and pain.

The eigth position is up for grabs. Carlton may even get there. The percentage will be a major factor to decide it I think.

I hope we can see all the finals live on Australian Network.
