I was in Jomtian many years ago having breakfast with my wife. A Russian women was speaking very loudly to her adult son who sat a few tables away from her. After 5 minutes I motion with my hands to bring it down . She looked confused while her son translated what I meant.She complied. My wife was stunned that I complained! I said this was a restaurant and her conversation , judging by her facial expressions was argumentative ,rude and insensitive to others in the small confines of the coffee shop.

I truly admire people who can block annoying nuisance noises out! My Other neighbor comes from Wales he has hearing problems and uses a hearing aid. When a mutual friend comes over to visit with her 6 year old son the Wales guy has to leave and goto another room cause the kids whining is off the wall.He says it hurts. It doesn’t hurt me but it is very annoying.

While we’re at it , one of my immediate neighbors comes home in the wee hours of the morning and converses with his dog children like it was 2 pm in the afternoon . All his phone conversations are on speakerphone , he shouts everything. My wife’s voice gets high when her family comes over, its not annoying but there is a distinct difference.
