It amaze me every time, that it seems like Thai people can suddenly just go kill, and there is always an excuse. He didn´t tolerate high volume or he had been drinking. I don´t get the urge to kill when I am drunk. It doesn´t matter how drunk I am, which I assume goes for most persons. Here it seems like a normal thing for Thais, and we never read anything about that they might be, or is, mentally disturbed or have mental issues. However, as soon as a foreigner walks around a little bit angry and screaming in a street, then there are big reports about how disturbed that person is. For Thais that kill, they are just described to be in a fit of rage or as it would be an effect of drinking or taking other substances.

As an example we have the text above. It should be: A crazy noodle shop owner with psychopathic behavior took a knife and deliberately killed a Thai woman and a Canadian man.

Definanetly looks like an underlying mental issue, mental health is in denial amongst Thais, go stay at the temple for a few months and your better

Just let him go on with his life. Everyone will be happy and the media will love telling daily stories.

I think that's tipped to happen February 5th, second pardon  ,police can't keep up this intensive care for. Ever,he can have his own private doctor's treat him at home, saving the state money, and everyone happy, happy, to much.

Well, wait a few months.... you'll see if they are a harm for the community. Maybe some (toddlers) are in hospital already.

They belong behind bars!!😵‍💫 (Dog shelter/kennel/custody)

Totally agree  these dogs turn at any time ,my friend nearly lost his hand after his turned on him after 5 years, when he tried to stop it killing his nephews pet rabbit, the dog was destroyed but my friend still has a mingled hand, I warned him when he first got it, but he thought he would bring it up properly.

Unprovoked attack, woman raped on Koh Chang, utter carnage on the roads, gun violence, etc etc  .....and TAT wonders why the Chinese (and others?) are not coming.

Chinese don't seem to have all the problems that other tourists do, they tend to stick together in tour groups and get robbed by the tour guides, same as they do in NZ, and other countries.

If one of my daughters had told me that whilst in a foreign country, she'd gone with just a male tour guide for company, to a a secluded beach, I'd have been very angry with her. Because he was a tour guide didn't make him any less likely to become a sex offender. The poor girl didn't expect or deserve to be sexually assaulted, but I would advise her to use more caution in future.

The question is how long has this animal been a tour guide, probably a self employed nutter who convinced her he was a responsible, respected experienced guide, but he was nothing but an opportunist sleaze bag

I have been on many bus trips around Thailand over nine years  and i must say that the driving has been good to excellent .

Mini bus drivers are a different breed all together . Avoid them if you can .

I tend to agree with you, I've travelled around Thailand on big busses and found the driving good, maybe a private bus, I have had trouble with them and would never get on one again.

As for mini vans they are suicide rides with mad drivers, you sometimes strike a good one but most are lunatics, sorry to say.

So glad to hear they escaped, these buses.. large and small.. on fire, in a ditch, head on collisions, etc.  So dangerous

No alarms to alert the driver, this could have been a disaster, especially if the lpg went up with all on board, very lucky the motorist was able to stop the bus.

Road transport safety authority should be kicked in the butt, shows a bad flaw in vehicle testing and safety.

It was only a matter of time. Eventually, the communication industry most fix what is a very dangerous situation waiting to happen. It's visual pollution and it really needs to be addressed. Another situation simular to the pollution/smoke issue. Lots of talk, very little action.

Also don't be irrisponsible and walk on the ones lying along the footpath, or touch the ones along the walk overs, or you could end up with a big hospital bill.

More info needed for sure but if it means retirees have to pay tax here

there will be not enough airplanes going back to Europe and other countries.

It will be a total disaster for many people including me.

Lets just wait for the small print before getting all worried and hope for the best.

On the other hand,if you have to pay tax here it should also give you some rights?

    Probably not.

One less visit to the local bar and one less bar fine should compensate for the tax penalty, if introduced to pensions.

Quite. It would seem that as a thai citizen his care comes under the Thai State's Universal Healthcare system, more commonly known as the 30 baht system, as he is in a government hospital. But even government hospitals have the option for patients willing and able to pay of private rooms, better nursing care and facilities, expedited medical care by senior consultants that work there. I'm sure he must have these so why isn't he paying for them?

Because of privacy, we will never need to know what he pays for, none of you know how much I pay for my power bill

Reading these posts is comical. You guys think the RD is as sophisticated as the IRS which is laughable. Look at how this country is run. Look where you live. You are all worried about nothing. This is a tactic to scare foreign money out of the country plain and simple. They want a weaker baht and they are getting it. The last regime had a strong baht policy and it killed exports and FDI which went elsewhere. It all a game and expats are freaking out over nothing.

That is what I think, and I hope we're right

I tend to  agree, but for computers nowadays it's not that difficult to link name, visa status and amount withdrawn over a year from an ATM (with an overseas ATM card) together that is just linking database together.

Also bringing in Cash is not that safe as you need to exchange it and when exchanging it, what do they need? Your Id (passport)

The private money changers, so far never asked, but the ones in malls, rich something, I forgot the name do ask

If these figures are to be be believed it points to a relatively  modest accumulation of wealth for somebody who held that position for 10 years.

It almost points to financial incompetence when one considers that he allegedly had investments of over 60 million baht yet only saw a return on that of 1.5 million in 10 years, Seems to have a very modest land holding too   I'm pretty sure he's got a bit more stashed away somewhere, but I seriously doubt it amounts to anything like what some of his predecessors managed to get their hands on

you talk as if thailand is the only place where fights break out in bars? savages, to use your term, exist in every country

I agree with you  but Pattaya seems to be getting worse, but saying that  Auckland nz is crazy with. Murders and shops being ram raided by young kids every night and big gang and meth problems

So “Lisa” Hamilton  believes Chines tourists would have confidence in Chinese Police while they are in Pattaya?  “Conflict” with Thai Police while as aforeign visitor is in Thailand?  Does this “logic” apply now to all foreigner visitors?  Next time I go to Pattaya I want officers from the LAPD to patrol the streets to ensure my safety.  Truly this is an example of “TIT.

Suppress illegal activities by Chinese, does that mean closing down illegal gambling dens, and Thai police can't do this, where's my face?

I'm glad that the plan has been scuttled

    Just another about-face.

When will these idiots learn to engage brain before opening mouth?

I think there's so many politicians in parliament that they have to come up with ideas to make themselves seem useful, it's amazing phenomenon world wide every govt is full of these people, most of them are egotists and many are dangerous.
