At 300 baht, it is a very good deal. Order water for 30 baht, or something like that. The tea is excellent and comes in a full pot, and at 120 baht or so, is not going to break the bank.
The desserts are very good, and there are a wide variety to choose from.
The ambiance is excellent. Starbucks is more expensive because of the environs, and so the Hilton is as well, and is well worth it for a few baht.
Select the day which is most appropriate for you; I went on a Friday and do not eat seafood, so my choices were limited but that would not stop me from returning.
I have also eaten dinner there and at 700 baht, although more than I would usually pay, I would not complain if someone suggested going there one night. The food quality is excellent and there is more than enough variety for anyone.
The service, something which is missing in most restaurants here, is better than anywhere I have experienced here in a long time.
Although there were children there, they seemed to be very well behaved, a lot better than I was at their age.
I have yet to meet anyone who has been there only once.

My cat
1 1/2 years old at most, been living with my friend and then me for all but the first month of her life.
She has always killed jingjoks on occasion, but now it is picking up.
No ideas how to stop her. She brings them into the bathroom and leaves them there either dead or near to it, day-in and day-out. Sometimes, two per day.
I like jingjoks, they kill mosquitoes.
Any ideas out there?
She does not eat them. We give her plenty of food, too much. She simply kills them for something to do. Can I find her another hobby?

My friend is flying his gf to LA - Las Vegas.
Which airline is currently offering the cheapest airfare for a flight in the next week or so?
China Air 22,500 is the cheapest I have found to Los Angeles so far.

As long as it is at least 30,000, go and get it.
If it is a legal debt, meaning you have paperwork / contract, have a lawyer send her a letter for a cost of about 2,000 baht maximum. Isaanlawyers is a good place to start.
She will have 30 days to pay you.
She and her husband will not pay, and so then you will file papers in court. The lawyer will cost about 10,000 up there.
After you win, what do they own which you can take? A house? A car?, etc.
Do it.
I have sued and taken money back from my builder, taken property from borrowers, etc.
It is time consuming, but you will get money as long as they have assets. Also, if you get a judgement, you can go after assets for 10 years, so if they have nothing now, you can still take something from them many years down the line.

There are plenty of threads about people asking about bringing a bike here. They are all told not to do it.
There are many threads here from people who tried to bring in a bike, and got hurt.
Take their advice.
Don't do it.

Silly me, I thought they had been trying to steal only his bag. I would not have guessed about the road rage until it was mentioned.

Reselling is the hard part. It is not easy to sell anythnig, even at a "below market price" in Pattaya because the new buildings have enormous marketing budgets, and many people actually believe in the artist's drawings and brochures which the developers show them.
How well do you speak Thai? It is useful, if not necessary if you want to keep the costs of renovation down enough for making a profit on the resale.
Don't jump in too fast, as it can be very difficult to get out.

BUy it here.
Just the cost of shipping will make it no longer worth the effort.
Everything bought here has replacement parts as well.

figure a little over 6% of the land office appraised value.

My mother has done it and ws happy with it. She is doing it again in two day as well.
There is still the approx. 1,000 baht at the border for the Camb visa, but this is less than the 2,000 - 2,200 usual visa run.

This is not meant to sound cruel.
Although a dog is not of value here as a life, it is a commodity, and the food destroyed your saleable commodity.
This may be a route to sue the dog food manufacturer for damages.

How can he come back and run for office if he holds another citizenship, just like the complaits against Abhisit.
At least Abhisit was born in another country, and was a citizen simply because of birth, not because of choice.

Here is more information on the land available for the March 9, 2011 auction date at the Surin Government Auction House.
If you require any further informaiton, please PM me.
Auction prices start at 80% of land office valuation, and at this time, the land office valuation is very, very low because the recent increases in the price of sugar and rubber have not been taken into account.

Thanks for all of your help... I guess it is back to Phnom Penh after all.

I have been to Laos or Cambodia for the past couple of years, but am looking at going to Penang or Singapore in late March, both places I have been to many times, but not lately, so would like to find out how the embassies are concerning double entry tourist visas.
How many days will it take, etc.
Thanks

Am I welcome to post information about a government public auction involving land with rubber and sugar cane in Surin?.... without getting a yellow card?

"For Richard Hewitt is not a Pattaya Brit who has squandered all his cash on booze, women, and drugs… Well, at least not yet."
Well Mr. Drummond, you have lost a few friends here in Pattaya with this paragraph above.
The vast majority of PATTAYA BRITS do not squander all of their cash on booze, women an drugs....
... and you have also insulted Mr. Hewitt with this little line...
Well, at least not yet.
And you are supposed to be a reporter, or an opinionated columnist?

Customs wants you to bring it in and then lose it to them.
Thai manufacturers do not want aything imported here.

Rule 4. Understand and comprehend the real meaning of the word 'investment'. An investment returns dividends
.........and the original investment

The 5.8% is variable
There is also......
50% of property value maximum
1,000,000 minimum
3,500 baht appraisal fee
5% loan fee
Borrower must be below the age of 60, and the mortgage can only go until his age reaches 60.. or...
If he has a co-signer, until the co-signer's age is 65
Foreigners can buy condos or their Thai wives can buy houses / shophouses based on the foreigner's credit.

Where ever you have public-private investment
you have
public investment first and private profit later
public guarantees of debts, so lower interest loans to companies building government projects
private companies becoming legally involved in where the government makes investments and what investments, rather than simply under the table payments.
And note this is for... mega-projects
Rent A House In Pattaya By Realstate Agent

Look on the bulletin boards at Carefour and Friendship markets. And it will always be called Carefour, change of ownership or not.
And also drive around the areas where you want to live, go into the developments which suit you and you will find houses for rent. NO agents, simply the owners inside. If there is a sign for an agent, have him come right out, and be prepared to drop the price a lot, as he has increased the price asked for by the owner substantially.
Forget the internet. Get out and drive around.
