  1. I guess it's whack a mole. Shut one down, two more pop up. It's all part of the Thai experience for heavens sake. Ask my hero Boss Chuwit. It'd be like Irish coffee with no whiskey in it.
  2. And my friend tells me it's better for sending locations, photos etc etc.
  3. And most negotiations are done on Line, a friend told me.
  4. Aren't all Wins also registered with Bolt? Order a Bolt motorbike and you get a guy in an orange jacket. And a 100m radius? That's enormous. They wouldn't be able to operate anywhere. And how do you know if the wins hanging around in groups are actually part of a designated licensed taxi stand?
  5. Trying to clean up Thailand's image abroad? And this from a man who just cooked the political books to destroy democracy here. What a joke. Thais are brought up to believe they are members of the most exclusive club in the world, thanks to one man. But to almost everyone else, it's nudge nudge, wink wink when you mention Thailand abroad. It's the only thing that separates it off from other SE Asian countries. Prostitution is the backbone of the economy, or at least, the tourist economy. Beaches? Thousands available world wide. Food? Standards falling. Temples? 2 a penny. Politicians? ????????????. Corruption? Drugs? Scams? Yeah, no tarnishing needed. Thai tarnish. You've tried the rest. Now try the best.
  6. Thanks. Yes, outside.
  7. Winning the election isn't the end of the game here as I'm sure you know.
  8. Yeah, but they started down the *You only paid for this, not that." That's my point. No way could they say "omg, yes, sorry, our mistake, we'll fix it today." Service? You not like? Why you come Thailand?
  9. Well, I don't have the time or inclination to go round collecting information from lampposts, most of which will be out of date in any case. What do you save doing this? A I don't have a friend working for an airline. And I don't get half the information I need reading insurance policies online. Much better to talk to a reliable, honest broker. I'm currently buying a condo. It's cheap and cheerful and exactly what I need. And I'll concede the agencies were useless. Word of mouth, one to one, personal contact. Almost always the best way I've found. But my current condo was via an agent. The first he showed me. But air tickets and hotels, online every time. Everybody's mileage varies. You have a network of info you can tap into. Anyway, it doesn't really matter. I fixed it myself.
  10. So you rent and buy property without an agent? What, just go round knocking on doors? And you always buy, say, flight tickets from the airline website? And you ring round all insurance companies asking about their policies? They must love you.
  11. Slightly off topic maybe, but still of interest I think. https://www.ttrweekly.com/site/2023/08/vietnam-opens-up-its-e-visa/
  12. Not sure if this has come up before. I have a concrete forecourt. I don't like the bare concrete and have in the past painted it in a variety of different colours with Beger Synotex Roof paint. But I'm finding this has a life of about 2 years. Does anyone have a more resilient product they've used? I've seen TOA has an industrial floor coating but it has 2 ingredients that have to be mixed. But if it works, I might give it a try.
  13. Ever bought insurance? An air ticket? A property? Booked a hotel? Booking.com, Airbnb, Agoda? Their rates are often much better than walk in. Many purchases involve a 3rd party. Even online flight searches through eg Skyscanner end up with an agent, Trip, Expedia etc etc. I don't like using an agent as they will always take a percentage, but that's life as we know it. Or as I know it.
  14. Quite agree. Scrap the so called "security council", and remove the veto. Let's have a level playing field. The veto is a bit like the Senate here in Thailand.
  15. You seem to forget the circumstances of the Speakership election. There was immense wrangling amongst the coalition parties as to who should get the job. Wan was a compromise candidate acceptable to all parties at the time. Yes, he's turned out to be worse than useless, causing this havoc over his mishandling of the second vote. Principle v standing? What means?
  16. They didn't. The CC took the case and ruled it wasn't filed by the people by whom it should have been filed. Why it took them so long to make the ruling, when it should have been immediately apparent, is another question. And why the ombudsman didn't reject the initial filing on the same grounds is also a mystery. Maybe he has a different set of rules. Whichever way you look at it, the MFP got their butts kicked. It's just embarrassing how incompetent they are. They have millions of supporters, yet they still manage to let them down.
  17. It's a self imposed wound. They screwed up. Can't you see that?
  18. Sure, but giving them an easy way out is just ridiculous. The judges are laughing. The MFP screwed up.
  19. Absolutely agree. They've messed up again. Unforgivable.
  20. Signing up with Remitly unavailable in Thailand.
  21. The exchange rate remains the same, but the amount is after fee deduction, so you don't get the full $10,000. You're getting 9,923.22 x 35.345
  22. "The committee’s findings and recommendation have been sent to the secretary-general of the Election Commission, said the source, adding that the case will then be forwarded to a sub-committee for consideration, when Pita may be asked to testify to the panel. The source also said that the panel may delay the case until there is a ruling from the Constitutional Court on Pita’s parliamentary status as relates to the iTV share ownership." So the EC's (investigating) committee has sent it's report to the EC secretary general who will forward it to a sub-committee, aka the panel, who may ask Pita to testify, but not until the CC has ruled on Pita's parliamentary status regarding iTV share ownership. What complete cobblers. EC bureaucrats, getting paid for doing nothing.
  23. It's the Mad Tatters Tea Party. Every month they move one seat to the right.
  24. I went there and got my residence certificate for buying a scooter. The reentry permit system is down today so have to go back tomorrow.
