  1. Exactly. There are so many unanswered questions about the shares. When were they released from probate, also. A half decent lawyer should be able to make mincemeat of the court stooges. Power to Pita!
  2. I hope he does. It should never have been put to the vote before the crony court of Senators. It was a parliamentary procedural matter and should have been ruled on by the Speaker, who should have known what the correct ruling is. This one obviously doesn't. MFP is suing the EC for other reasons. Maybe this would fit in nicely in their case alleging unfair treatment of Pita.
  3. Not sure to whom the candidates' names are submitted. But yes, nominated by Pheu Thai leader Chonlanan Srikaew.
  4. I think Prayuth installed a 10 man committee to select the Senators. "The proposed constitution also allows the NCPO to appoint an eight to ten person panel who will choose Senators,[4] to include six seats reserved for the heads of the Royal Thai Army, Navy, Air Force, and Police, plus the military's supreme commander, and defense permanent secretary." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Thailand Scroll down to 2017. A military dictatorship posing as a democracy. Of course, with the demise of the NCPO, who knows what will happen in May next year?
  5. You may be right. As usual, it's all shrouded in mystery. I use the following source https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/politics/40029285 It's interesting they say quite clearly there are no limits on the number of times a candidate can be put forward, completely contradicting the farcical vote taken yesterday.
  6. Or in a coalition to nominate the PM. So PT will have to dump MFP and collude with the enemy, BJT et al. Unless they grew some balls and stuck by their MoU with MFP. Anutin has said he's not interested in a minority government, ie with a minority coalition of maybe 184 seats, without PT. So there would be a standoff, with the MFP and PT coalition refusing to budge.
  7. I meant, was his name put forward?
  8. I'm not sure Prawit is even a candidate. Anyone?
  9. Sure, but if they didn't get addicted? Did they rewrite their papers? Addiction is tied to circumstances I think. Poverty, desperation, a bad crowd. Very hard to kick if you're down.
  10. I got mine from here https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/politics/40029285 Dated July 12th. But who knows the situation in reality?
  11. Oh, those guys who never smoked a spliff in their lives?
  12. Where do you see the difference? What do you think Pita was going to do that would destroy your dream?
  13. 25 is the minimum to nominate a PM candidate. Prawit's party didn't nominate a candidate. Neither did Prayuth's. However, BJT did. Yes, they could form a 184 seat coalition with the old junta supporters, but it would be a minority government which Anutin says he is not interested in. So he's presumably going for broke, eyeing a coalition that excludes MFP but includes PT. The Senate would presumably ok that arrangement, and they'd be home and dry with MFP left out in the cold. The party that won the most votes, the most seats, that had the guts, the balls to take on the military/monarchists and beat them , only to fall foul of Prayuth's catch all safety net. The senate has to go before any real change. And PT won't even try I don't think. Bend over boys.
  14. Anybody seen Prayut recently?
  15. Maybe not, but a PT/MFP voting alliance could. Maybe there's hope yet. Let Anutin take the PM's job. Is it really that important to the opposition? They can rip him to shreds in any debate. The speaker should have made the decision regarding Pita's second nomination. How foolish to put it to the vote! It was a procedural matter, which the speaker should have full control over. Anyway, it's over. Pita never stood a chance of getting the PM job, so better this way maybe? Will the Senate allow Srettha? Better PT withdraw. A powerful opposition better than a lame duck government.
  16. Can't see any guarantee PT would have any more success than MFP. It looks more and more like the old guard are going to come back. Bumjaithai, and 5 other parties can muster 184 MPs between them. 249 Senators and they're home and dry. Be prepared for more bad news. I saw Anutin laughing on his way out of parliament.
  17. They've lost the renomination too. Disgusting. The speaker should have ruled but they voted instead, and of course, lost.
  18. The CC will reconvene in 15 days, so Pita has that time to prepare his defense, which he probably did months ago. In the meantime, he could stand again for PM as he doesn't have to be an MP to do that. I guess that could happen tomorrow. If he wins, it'll be trebles all round. If not, then Srettha will take his shot. Will PT stay with MFP? That's going to be a really key decision. It's difficult if not impossible to know just how many Senators will refuse to back a candidate from a party in a coalition with MFP. Maybe enough will soften their stance. Something PT will have to poll them on. If it looks unlikely, PT will most likely ditch MFP and join up with BJT and the "Democrats". That would work for the Senators, for sure. Either way, for a party that actually polled the most votes and won the most seats, it would be a totally disgraceful outcome if they were locked out of government. They broke the mold. They had the balls, the guts and the determination to take on the creepy establishment. They refused to back down. It could be they will end up with just their parliamentary seats. Unless the CC disband them. ????????????????????
  19. Is that like "My way"? The Sid Vicious version, that is.
  20. He's still an MP, but not active. Has to wait til his case is settled. And he doesn't need to be an MP to be voted in as prime minister.
  21. Yes, but they have to belong to the same party. Only 6 parties qualify, and 2 have withdrawn.
  22. Yes, but BJT and Prawit's mob decided not to. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/politics/40029285 Hope it's ok to post that link. I notice reading through that article, there's nothing in it saying the same candidate can't be put forward more than once. Hopefully that sinks the section 41 complaint.
  23. I knew about Abhisit, but I was under the impression dual nationality wasn't recognised for Thais. I met a girl once who had Thai/Oz citizenship. She was made to choose by the Thais. So I wonder how he made it to being PM. I wonder how many other "statesmen" have dual nationality? Must be 100s. 1000s maybe. And he wasn't born in Thailand.
  24. That's a challenge to the EC's conduct of the case against Pita. But what about the allegations of ownership of the ITV shares. Is there a case? Will it stand up in court? Does the litigant have to prove it? I mean, Ruangkrai in person?
  25. I got barred for 3 days for saying what I want to say in reply, so I'm not going to repeat myself. Too bad. I thought it was quite witty at the time.
