How do you work out that too much freedom leads to chaos and degeneracy? Is this some new entropic law? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropy How can you make such statements? Based on what? Your own observations, or those of political scientists down the ages? Are you in the queue to get into Russia, home of today's well managed society? A falling into the bog shed half buried in the melting Siberian permafrost, or a log cabin in Oregon? Anyone arguing for Russia should consider carefully what they're trying to sell. Go check it out. You'll probably be arrested for spying and never make it out.

Also, surely this is a legal matter? Why no legal representation in these kangaroo courts? Where is Pita's legal team? I've yet to read a qualified legal opinion on the status of the shares. Not seen any lawyer standing on the steps of the courts denouncing the whole thing as political chicanery. Not heard or read any legal argument. Why are the lawyers silent?

Cowardly EC just kicks it upstairs. What will the CC say? Will they have the balls to throw it out? Or just do what they're told?

Point taken. Democracy is not a one size fits all system. And re your last point, and I'm not an American, I believe many would agree with you, including many Americans, 2 party systems can bring a country to its knees. But at least in a democracy you can speak out against the system. With a broken democracy, if it still supports democratic ideals, it's still possible to fight for your beliefs without being put up against a wall and shot. I don't see that in any dictatorship. There's a trend nowadays, and it manifests itself here on AN, to castigate what goes by the name of western liberal democracy, as woke, leftist, degenerate rubbish. But when you lift the lid on the critics and denigrators of WLD, you find a putrefied mess of right wing conspiracy theories, hate, anger, bitterness and violence. I don't find arguments from that sector very convincing. I certainly wouldn't wish to put the future of my country, or my future, in their hands.

So that leaves Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. The Saudis have untold wealth through untold oil revenue. They treat migrant workers like their personal slaves. But great news, women can now attend football matches, drive a car, and get a passport without permission from their male guardian. They can travel unaccompanied too. All this in the last 5 years! Yes, they've sports washed their whole patriarchal, royal family dominated system. Can they speak freely? Is there still a religious police there? But as you say, every room has AC, so what's not to like? I'm not sure the same can be said of Vietnam, or Laos, or Cambodia, all one party dictatorships, or what you'd call patriarchies I guess. And decadent liberal democracies? This is Kremlin talk. Do you feel an affinity with that gang of thieves?

A disciplined, patriarchal system? Like Myanmar, Iran, Afghanistan, North Korea, Syria, Saudi Arabia, China? Chaotic degeneracy of 'liberal democracy'? Where do you get this stuff? I guess you are from the latter. Do you resent your upbringing? Your survival chances? The opportunities open to you? The privileges? Hard to see how life could be any easier under a degenerate liberal democracy, but you still yearn for an authoritarian regime. Why? Because it doesn't apply to you and you have no experience of it. Just neo colonialism. Extraordinary arrogance to suggest prescribing a political system for "some countries". Name them!

Prayut quits politics
His legacy is the dreadful constitution that set up the 250 stooges and is causing chaos right now which is probably why he's doing a runner. Plus, he leaves a deeply divided nation. His royalist sympathies led to the prosecution of over 1000 people under the 112 laws, the rounding up of student activists and incarceration without bail. He and his kind - the senile Nowit et al - have had their day.

Is a Drug to Treat Cannabis Addiction Finally Within Reach?
I've never really "got" the classification of addiction as a disease. I was addicted to nicotine, still am to some extent, but I quit. Used to drink but quit. Switched to low carb diet - you may laugh, but giving up sugar, bread, rice, potatoes, pasta etc is not easy after 70 years. To me it's simply STOP. Now how many other "diseases" can I cure like that? And regarding weed addiction. At university, the worst that could be described as an effect of smoking it, which we middle class white undergraduates did daily for months at a time, was the reluctance to get off the floor and go to lectures and seminars. No psychosis, no CUD, MAD, SUD nor any other depiction of addiction. Really, cannabis abuse, if it exists, is surely most likely to be caused by poverty, deprivation, and social situation, not the supposedly addictive properties of THC. Compared to crack/opioids synthetic or otherwise.... Well, I don't think there IS a comparison. It's just guilt by association.

Pattaya Woman Demands Someone to take Financial Responsibility after Crashing Her Sedan into Construction Site on Threpprasit Road
Put the cables along the new drains that took a year to install. Job done.

Pattaya Woman Demands Someone to take Financial Responsibility after Crashing Her Sedan into Construction Site on Threpprasit Road
Er, cables and bushes seems an odd combination.

Pattaya Woman Demands Someone to take Financial Responsibility after Crashing Her Sedan into Construction Site on Threpprasit Road
They're going to have to dig up the road or lay overhead cables via support towers to cross the road to get to customer cable inlets. Why couldn't they have just laid the cables alongside the wonderful new drains? Access hatches all the way down. Easy access. Out of the way. In fact, why don't they do that right now and scrap the stupid central reservation. It's already caused one mash up. How many more?
-
Pattaya Woman Demands Someone to take Financial Responsibility after Crashing Her Sedan into Construction Site on Threpprasit Road
What about access? Maintenance? Additional cable laying? Etc etc etc. And the cable companies? Are they going to replace the hundreds of cables that currently are carried up the sides of the road on poles? Whatever the answer to that is, I still say what they've done with the central reservation is unworkable. Welcome to another ghost town created by City Hall.

I read somewhere they intend to lay cables down the middle. ????????????????????????

Pattaya Woman Demands Someone to take Financial Responsibility after Crashing Her Sedan into Construction Site on Threpprasit Road
Absolutely. And getting out for people who got there on their bikes or cars, baht buses etc etc. Forced left and then u turn prohibited!

Pattaya Woman Demands Someone to take Financial Responsibility after Crashing Her Sedan into Construction Site on Threpprasit Road
Why would I know anymore than city hall? It wasn't my idea. But regarding the central reservation itself, I believe the plan is/was to lay cables down it. Another year's work I imagine. What a disaster! What is your take on it all? Do you use Thepprasit? Frequently? How do you find the no right turns virtually the whole length with everybody looking for a place to U turn? And those forced left on joining it then also looking for the next u turn spot.

Wise doesn't handle THB. You have to use Dee.

Pattaya Woman Demands Someone to take Financial Responsibility after Crashing Her Sedan into Construction Site on Threpprasit Road
All this chat about Thepprasit and the central reservation overlooks the actual subject of the OP, which is the wreck this woman was involved in. We'll probably (!) never hear the full story, but luckily, half the members of AN appear to have been witnesses, so I'm sure they will be able to set the record straight about what actually happened. Call the first witness! No, on second thoughts, we've heard it all before... She was probably..., 100/1 on she was..., I reckon..., If you ask me..., Maybe..., Could be..., I guess..., Who knows? They can't drive so what do you expect?

I read somewhere there had been approval of the scheme after canvassing on Thepprasit amongst the businesses. I find it hard to believe. Well, impossible really.

Pattaya Woman Demands Someone to take Financial Responsibility after Crashing Her Sedan into Construction Site on Threpprasit Road
That is interesting. I didn't know Nua pre barrier. I saw businesses disappearing though. There was a pool shop up near the junction with 3rd. The whole row is derelict now. There used to be a very affordable attorney near the bottom end. Got a will written there for 4k. But, no right into Makro, and then no U turn at the Sukhumvit junction. What do they suggest you do then?
