Legalising it to whatever extent was a genius move. Buy in a shop where the proprietor can advise you on the various blends, flavours, strengths. Not cut with some head banging sxxx. It's all above board, over the counter, not street corner paranoia, rip off, Oxo cubes. Money back guarantee? Well no, this is Thailand after all! But now Thailand out there, showing the world. I'm not a stoner and I don't smoke, but to me, it's a great move.

Was this some kind of exclusive for Pattaya News? Or just clickbait? Who are the "Top physicians"? Who is the unpronounceable Smith Srison? No results on Google. Who was representing the opposition parties? Such bad reporting. No other sources given. Stick to car wrecks and bar busts. Why is so much of ASEAN Now taken up by Pattaya News?

AirBnb host tells me they never make TM30
bradiston replied to daejung's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I got a visit once from the fuzz regarding a tm30 which my daughter never filed over a 10 year period as the house I lived in I considered belonged to me. No no, the IO insisted, she owns the land, it's hers. ER, hello. Is this not my name on the building permit? Hey you falang, you don't get clever with me. Ok, how much? 1600 THB. And they'd come about 100km for that, and a 50 minute speedboat ride at 300 THB each. 3 of them. After that we got a usufruct. The grasses are green. -

I said "Shame all people..." That's shorthand for "It's a shame all people can talk about is the muggings..." not "Shame on all people". But you and others have managed to persuade the op never to go there, based on your horrible experiences. Why don't you apologise for that, at least to the Philippine people, now you've seen the light, and admit you only saw one side of the Philippines? And quit having a go at me who has some very positive things to say about it. And try visiting some of the beautiful places there. -

But that's ALL they talk about. Don't give me your wretched guilt trip about not understanding what the thread is about. If you actually read the thread you'll see I admit to having lost my phone twice in Philippines, but that is had worse experiences in Thailand. The op was being fed a lot of scare mongering stuff that happens in every city on earth. Nothing about the beautiful, safe, islands and beaches, flora and fauna, and people. Honi soit qui mal y pense! -
Excellent comment. Probably a couple of 10mg Vxxxxxx would work. I suffered major panic attacks in eastern Iran back in the 60s after toking on a sxxxx of unbelievably powerful sxxx. They lasted for weeks. Ok, so this can and does happen. Some of the gear on sale now is bred to completely blow your brains out, I'm sure, so can't argue with that. I'm not a user, and haven't been for 20 odd years. So, what's the way forward? A few bad reactions versus a huge amount of good reactions. They can't tackle drink driving even. There are no tests for THC in the blood available outside a lab I believe. But I think the current laws do cover driving under the influence of alcohol and/or other substances. They seem to be able to run tests pretty quickly in the pub and bar raids. Pxx in a bag?

17% of ER admissions are now cannabis related? 1 in 6 people showing up or being rushed into ER are what - suffering some kind of life threatening/psychotic reaction to the ingestion or inhalation of cannabis? Any other drugs involved? I'll bet. I tried to locate this survey/report the rabid anti can groups are quoting but could only come up with this: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanam/article/PIIS2667-193X(22)00142-9/fulltext This is more to do with how difficult it is to research the subject because of DEA restrictions. But there are a number of other articles listed on The Lancet website, but as usual, no links or sources supplied by the learned professors back here. Where's the beef?

They work abroad as it's the only way to dig themselves and their families out of grinding poverty. But yes, the food as sold on the street isn't very palatable to us westerners, and even the fast food they somehow manage to sxxxx up. Palm oil and sugar are virtual staples. But adobo is great and a variety of other dishes. Remember as a nation they were virtually destroyed by the Spanish and the Catholic church. Then the yanks. They've left scars. Just like all other colonisers. But in this instance, very little else. The point is, you can find uninhabited islands with wonderful stretches of beach, crystal clear water, diving and snorkeling sites second to none, and surfing. You don't have to even go to Manila, just fly through to Palawan, Boracay now they've reopened it, Bohol, and a million other totally safe places, really worth visiting. Shame all.people can talk about is mugging and thievery in the city centres. Who wants to go there anyway? -
Safety for solo travellers in the Philippines

Easy to paint a wretched picture of Philippines, but we seem to have ended up in yet another comparison with Thailand. I've lived in both Thailand and Philippines, though a lot longer in Thailand. The only physical and verbal threats of violence and intimidation I ever experienced were in Thailand. But guess what? They came from a foreigner. And a neighbour at that. But, I have a house also in Philippines. I don't get that there mainly I guess because I'm surrounded by fairly wealthy middle class Filipinos and foreigners, who, believe it or not, do exist in very large numbers there. Yes, standard of living is terrible in Philippines for most. So it is in many many countries, now probably including most of Europe. The country has an appalling level of corruption. There's a lot of yaba, known there as shabu, and too dirty shooting anyone and everyone even suspected of being a user/dealer just took out thousands of mostly young guys. I'd be more scared in the US where it seems everybody carries a gun and will blow your head off at the drop of a cowboy hat, is addicted to Prozac/some opiate derivative like fentanyl/crack/smack, and breaks your legs if you don't vote Republican. Welcome to bias! -
Non-O or O? Can't say I've ever knowingly had a CRC done for a non immigrant O visa, or an extension of stay based on retirement. Had them as a London cabbie though. There's a world of difference between border control at points of entry, which is normally just a cursory glance up, at you and at maybe a blacklist, and some keying in of data, stamp, next..., and applications for asylum for instance. The latter would almost certainly involve checks with authorities in the applicants country of origin, families etc, and lawyers and this and that. And would you or I have it any other way? Can't answer for non-O though. OA? B? C? X? How many others are there? Do any of them require a CRC in the appellants home country?

43 teenagers arrested at two alleged drug parties in Sattahip area

Thinks... yes, but where ELSE does ganja lead? Tick all that apply. Munchies? Insatiable craving for gallons of draught Guinness? Uncontrollable giggling? Dangerously athletic dancing? Fusion of prefrontal lobes? Spark of life in brain? Ignoring of sign saying "Ya Ba users this way". -
???? Sorry, couldn't resist. I see Anchor and vanilla flavour UHT though. I've seen it everywhere. Presumably milk not cream. No good for keto.
-
Well that would be a huge help. I think a very large number of people wouldn't even bother applying. Do you know how long it takes to do a full CRC in the UK for instance? And it costs. There'd be no tourists for the next 5 years! And going back how long? Spent convictions? Traffic offences? You can get visaless entry to Taiwan and probably many other places. Thailand's not alone. I guess it just attracts "the wrong type". I wonder why?

Safety for solo travellers in the Philippines

I'm a single over 70 white male, so YMMV! It depends a lot on where you choose to go. Siargao, which I love, Surigao, Bacolod and some places in north east Mindanao I never felt threatened in. More's the pity as I got my phone knabbed in a jeepney in Bacolod, and a phone knabbed in a shopping mall. But there was never a hint of violence, just they were smarter than me. You MUST safeguard whatever property you carry around with you, whichever way suits you best. I know many who only carry a 1000 peso note plus a lot of change, and a cheap chuckaway phone when they head out. Maybe a card, but maybe remove the 3 digit security number. Best to travel with a companion. I never saw many, or even any, single non Filippinas travelling, of any age, but there are a lot of American Mormons and 7th Day Adventists in the Philippines. I haven't been there myself but I'd suggest Palawan might suit you. I think you'd find a very safe environment to walk in, swim, snorkel etc etc, and a lot of resorts to meet people in. Just my inexperienced but considered opinion. I've visited Philippines often, but never ever stayed in Manila except one night. Not my cup of tea at all! -
8 weeks seems to be the optimum recommended gap between both Pfizer and Moderna shots, but 3 and 4 weeks respectively appear to be acceptable. I have links, but they're available to anyone googling interval between shots. Get your first shot in if you have to, and take it from there. In any case, you should do your own research. A forum like this has limited medically qualified input, at least, coming from me it has.

I've never heard of the drug ladder. Is it like the gun ladder? From a quick Google, cannabis was illegal in every state in the US until 2012. Did this prevent drug use there, or go one millimetre to controlling it? Are you insane? Come on guys. Weren't you ever teenagers? Beats brawling in the street, as is the wont of many teenage Thais, kicking the cxxx out of each other and inflicting long lasting injury, right? Hardly the crime of the century. Mingling on drugs. Ye gods. -
