Double Charging I know it exists but it is still very annoying.
JimmyJ replied to Nip's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
This you?: "Try not to be so sensitive". "If you feel that Thailand is racist, then leave. This is all there is to it, but overly sensitive, mainly Western, first country privileged foreigners like to see this as discrimination or even downright racism. Its not, its real World economics and social necessity. Get over it. The post is irritating, not duel pricing" "It's a perfectly valid statement, ( and choice) that's why it gets repeated so many times to whining post subjects like this one. This subject is one that any amount of angst and pointless debate will not change. Why put up with a place that annoys you so much? Who would do that, bar a masochist, or a perennial moaner at all things Thai?" -
One of the posters in this thread about to tell you how much more than you he tips his caddie and that he gets special services such as the caddie cleans his balls when they are muddy, etc., etc. Post coming in 5...4...3...2...

The attractions know it is wrong or at least exploitative which is why in most/many cases the prices are posted deceptively - Numerals for the farang price, and the Thai price stated in Thai language. They don't want the farangs to know they are being overcharged. -

This is something you've made up to justify the system. As is there are many discussions with farangs who show Thai DL's, different colored cards, etc. -

True if Thai citizenship ID was asked for at the admission booth. But it is not. And countless posts of the Asian appearance friend/wife/gf charged the Thai price and the Caucasian appearance person charged 2 to 20 times as much. -

I use my own toiletries, but if needed I have never had a problem getting extra toiletries/towels etc. simply by asking politely. One poster also mentioned tipping and getting extra water. I've never encountered a hotel which offers unlimited water. In SEA it's normally 2 bottles on arrival, and in most cases 2 bottles/day after that. Tipping someone and asking for extra water forces the employee to make the choice of breaking their employer's rules, or face the possible loss of future tips. Water is available at convenience stores for 5 to 7 THB per 600 ml bottle.

PM2.5 Dust Level in Pattaya Exceeds Safe Levels, Mask Wearing Recommended

Several posters in a recent thread stated they use Filtrex filter sheets from Lazada and tape it to the top of their ac units or drape it over the inside filters. -
I remember from past smoke seasons that Hua Hin gets as bad as the other smoked out cities - confirmed by posters living there. I guess not yet.

I would go to Vietnam but they only offer a 30 day Visa with NO extensions. I'm not going on a border run every month - or even once. It looks like there is no location in Thailand currently out of the Red Zone (or worse). Hopefully I'm wrong. Do you know of an area in Thailand with liveable AQI currently (hopefully Yellow)? Malaysia has better weather but Georgetown is relatively expensive and after a week I don't think there's a lot to offer. Don't want to live in Kuala Lumpur. Would prefer to remain in Asia, but... Europe? Portugal/Cyprus/Greece/Spain? Have you found a place, in Thailand or out? Suggestions?

Are you using air purifiers or filter sheets on the air conditioners? -
