I know of two regular police traps on the Eastside which are set up at night. Either way i advise wearing a helmet day or night, for your own safety.

i know the lady who sells the flowers too.always the same goes around town pushing the flowers.a few years ago where the un irish bar is i saw her get out off a new toyota land cruiser one time.says it all to me.i told her go away and after that she will just avoid me,but push the flowers in other peoples face.
Me too. I've seen her returning from Wararot with the flowers in the daytime and have a feeling she may live close to Loi Kroh.
If it makes ya feel better, i once saw a very drunk acquantance sexy dance with her at a bar! I was pissing myself laughing. She looked slight shocked but still continued to try and sell him the flowers in mid gyration!

Thanks for the tip. I shall be in attendance!

If you are after a real laugh you should check out the free fights at the Loi Kroh boxing stadium. Talk about ham acting!

Good story. Glad to hear you got your bike back.

Miguels is terrible. I had burrito there and it was super bland. Just plain awful. Both Salsa kitchen and Elvis are miles better.
Everyone has their favorites. I went to Elvis one time. I'll never go back. Food was terrible.
Same for me as well
I can't comment on the burito's there, but the tacos I had weren't the best. Orange coloured cheese? C'mon!

I have seen a push cart on Tha pae road clalled "Taco Bells" have yet to try it.
It is actually Tacos Bell. Pretty good stuff, his beans actually have seasoning, my only complaint against Miguel's. He is often on Ratviti across from Zoe at night.
Yup that is where I spotted him. His food was delicious! Wish he was more easy to track down.

You need the letter from the bank no matter the amount, big or small.

Update! I ended up buying an Asus from one of the shops on the computer store strip on the North Gate side. All good so far. The place has several stores, and was running a big promotion. After two days of shopping around, it seems that that area is still the place to go.

Yes more than a few of its patrons wound up in the moat, not always by their own choice.
If it's going to be one big room again I really hope they ban smoking in there - unlikely I know.
I would also like to see the retention of those big square box things near the toilets, where one could podium dance the night away to one's hearts content.

I've heard the same thing through a different source, so that makes two.

Just looking for some clarification regarding the issuing of Thai tourist visa's in KL.
I've seen online reports that KL sometimes requires onward travel information for Thailand before issuing TV's.
I have 3 TV's already from other consulates and am worried I might get knocked back without onward travel information.
Do any board members have advice or experience in this area?
Much thanks
I don't recall any report of KL asking for a ticket out of the country.
Visa denials reported for KL were for multiple visas issued there.
You should not have a problem getting a single entry tourist visa there with your visa history.
Cheers. Thanks for the reassurance.

Easy solution:Book a THAI Airways ticket out of Bangkok to any international destination but select the option "pay later" then print out your interary. Select a random date about 2 months after your intended arrival and you should be fine. No need for payment since the system automatically cancels the reservation after about 72 hours. Note that other airlines don't offer this service, they ask you to pay a deposit to hold the booking. Only THAI Airways offers a free hold reservation service but only if your departure date is more than about 72 hours after you book.
Thanks for that mate!

Well I'll give it a shot and if anything adverse happens I'll post it up as a warning to others.

Don't know what happened to my post?
Singapore definitely requires travel documentation. When I was in KL last week several people were asked to provide extra paperwork. My guess is it was travel documentation. Take it with you, if they don't ask no problems.
Hmm.. but to do so I would have to buy an air ticket to exit Thailand and then cancel it at a later date. Something I was hoping to avoid.

Ok I shall add them to the research list. Thanks!Agreed tablets probably are the future. I need a keypad though.
Several models have keyboards available that you can dock.

Generally only the Thai places will do the 3 large specials, and the Loi Kroh bars prefer to sell small to up there $'s.

Hmm yes I have experience with Apple products, and I do know that they are certainly ahead in some areas. The whole iTunes restricted thing shits me though.
Also I'm only looking to pay 15,000 tops. Not sure i would be able to buy something at that price?

Hey All
I've been out laptop shopping this morning and will probably buy something from Computer City/Plaza + Icon.
I've settled on either an Asus or Lenovo in the 15,000 baht region.
Does anybody have any last minute advice for me?
With thanks

Yup they're ramping up for a Songkran fundraiser. Best to wear that helmet for the next few weeks.

I know it's not his style, but Took really needs to set up a routine or advertise when he's playing i.e. Friday & Saturday nights etc.
If I knew he would be playing then I and many others would go. Unfortunately I've been a bunch of times when he didn't play.
Is This The Second Coming?
