  1. Wrong, flat out wrong. You just made that up in your head. The human rights issue is separate and always has been from economic manipulation. And you know that Thailand is subject to constant monitoring on the human rights issue, https://www.mfa.go.th/en/content/2024tipreport-2?cate=5d5bcb4e15e39c306000683e All you have done with your nonsensical answer is prove you were unaware that Thailand was already on an economic watchlist. Feel free to search the archives of AN or other sources on the Internet to find what the other factor(s) are.
  2. Most of you will be unaware that Thailand has been on a sanction watch list by the USA for years, based upon currency manipulation, protectionism and other factors. One reason why they haven't been sanctioned before now is the general US political consensus that they are a useful ally in SE Asia. If Thailand joins BRICS it's joining an organisation known to be hostile to US interests. That's a decision for Thailand. If they then suffer the consequences for declaring themselves allied with hostile nations they'll have brought it upon themselves. Far too much ranting here by people who genuinely don't know what they are talking about. And be honest, did you know Thailand was on a sanction watchlist before you flew foot first into this thread?
  3. I stand by what I said, there's something wrong with your head.
  4. Get a life. Seriously. Thai related forum, Thai related thread, and away you go again about Russian collusion, There's something wrong with your head.
  5. Your lack of self awareness is hilarious. Look at all the time you wasted posting that drivel in an attempt to one up a digital ghost. Pathetic existence.
  6. No you're not. You're spitting the dummy out with a worthless ad hominem post. Just proving my point. Dunning -Kruger - suits you, sir.
  7. I'm catching one of those rants elsewhere. Some of the members of this forum really need to study "Dunning-Kruger effect."
  8. Oh no, they're not. They can stay in post until September 30. Then take the money. Talking about remedial - did you read your quote? "The memo was not clear on whether employees who choose to resign would be expected to work between now and Sept. 30" How utterly dumb do you need to be to post that then call someone "remedial." Especially someone like me that was rated in the top 2% English students in the Scottish education system - a category you never knew how to access or existed as you wouldn't have been handpicked as a gifted student. Reading comprehension of 22 words per second. Can you beat that? Bet you can't - I bet you don't even know how to test it. Over to you, dunderheid.
  9. Knew it - I just knew you'd post something like that. Is the BBC a good enough source for you? as it says - leaving their jobs no later than the end of September. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cnvqe3le3z4o
  10. Psychiatrist and therapists always point out that demonisation ( and imaginary demons ) are the default positions of the mentally ill. The left wing are the witchfinders of our time. They would have fitted in well at the Salem Witch Trials. Nothing new under the sun.
  11. Once again, you don't know what you are talking about. That's not the deal offered.
  12. I noticed the list of top commenters recently on Asean Now. All of them were notorious political leftwingers, averaging between 60 - 70 posts per day on threads such as this. 60 - 70 posts a day. Every day. These are people who deign to be happy with their life in Thailand, but spend all day every day in a bitter, self-trolling digital world, Very strange behaviour.
  13. You're talking through a hole in your head. The deal expiry is February 6.
  14. Chaos is the point. Trump is getting all the controversial things done right now knowing that the courts will be involved. A few of these cases will appear at the Supreme Court in 2026, before the midterms. He'll win some, he'll lose some, he knows it. His offer to pay Federal employees 8 months wages to resign is genius. 200,000 are expected to take up the offer. I think more will do so rather than return to work five days a week. Off the wall point - if Trump drains the Federal workforce around DC, many of whom live in Virginia, it may well help the GOP electoral hopes in that state if they move away.
  15. The article clearly indicates she intends to fly home soon. It also says the trial could be six years away. Definite contradiction.
  16. And you know where her passport is for a fact?
  17. Unbelievable part to me? If I had been unfairly jailed I'd be on the first aircraft out of the country, not wandering around various provinces. Reading that, it looks like she is still voluntarily in Thailand? Truly unbelievable. Scam alert.
  18. I can't be bothered. I said I shouldn't have got involved in this thread.
  19. Drivel. Made up in your head drivel.
  20. I'm simplifying nothing. Your post was clear. You complained about the US arresting criminals for sexual offenses. You made no attempt to explain or categorise. You have a delicious sense of self-worth. Everyone is dumb, especially compared to you. Your reply makes things even worse. Feel free to explain to the forum what sexual crimes Americans should be allowed to perpetrate in Thailand.
  21. McConnell is a goner, Murkowski will be primaried.. The problem is the GOP needs to be encouraging better candidates. They missed out on at least seven winnable senate seats in the last two cycles. The GOP needs to sort that out.
  22. As for the utter clown talking about "farmers/profits/working below minimum wage." The USA abolished slavery 160 years ago. Dems defending illegal immigration so that little brown people can be abused by nasty capitalist farmers is beyond belief. Wake up, you morons. ps - I posted the other day, mechanized crop picking is destroying these jobs already. Within 10 years there will be next to no crop pickers.
  23. I see the usual suspects talking garbage as usual. Do not underestimate the visual power of these flights. Also do not underestimate: 1. The message from deportees saying it's too risky to cross as enforcement is everywhere. People won't pay the smugglers if they think they'll not make it through. 2. The upcoming spike in self-deportation. People will calculate its not worth the aggravation, will sell up and leave. I see that described as a "conservatives wet dream." No President has enacted so many anti-immigration statutes at the same time. People self-deport every day. There will be a rush over the next few months, especially by those with assets to lose.
  24. The American Left are the New Puritans. The Puritans were detested in England for being a bunch of sanctimonious pricks.. Soldier drinks beer! Oh no, totally unsuitable for his job 20 years later! Give it a rest. On another note - his second wife calling BS on fake allegations that she was scared of Hegseth should have moved the needle for the three Republican no votes. At the very least, they should have abstained. The Dems have blown all credibility after their disgusting attack on Kavanaugh. This smear playbook needs to go on.the bonfire.
  25. Yeh, I was a card carrying member of the NCO Club, Senior NCO Club and Officers Club on Spangdahlem Air Base, as well as a member of a couple of US army clubs. Good.
