Poll: Do you consider Donald J. Trump to be an EVIL man?
He might just have bitten off more than he can chew with that one. The BBC line seems to be shaping up as him having to prove that defamation took place. As he said what he said, irrespective of when, there's that, but he also has to prove that his character is squeaky clean for it to be effectively damaged by the broadcast. Also the point that it was not released or broadcast in USA unless people were watching it in fact illegally via VPN. So it was not then aimed at US citizens, nor took place there, therefore not damaging to his Political position and standing. The issue for Trump with all this is that they will legally be calling in and scrutinising, very publically, in that courtroom every rotten deal, fraud, every aspect of demeaning of women, the rape of which he was convicted and every other grubby bit of behaviour which he will have to deny and try to disprove, under oath, despite there being a multitude of proof. I think it's more likely he'll do as he always does when anyone stands up to him and fold accepting a face saving apology or something. I guess we'll see.

Epstein Files Loom As Polls Show Americans Suspect Trump
So surely the big question is why not? Answer is because they are all billionaires with immense power in every way both financial and political. It doesn't matter who you vote for the same people are always in charge. Using and abusing young girls is simply entertainment for their oh so jaded palates. Maxwell said to a friend did she not about the girls" It doesn't matter. They're just trash". And indeed so are we all to them. Nothing. Disposable like a piece of used toilet paper they wipe their <deleted>ty arse on.

Epstein Files Loom As Polls Show Americans Suspect Trump
I guess the issue is that no Democrats are in power in US and don't hold the fate of millions of US citizens in their hands. Not to mention the rest of us on this planet who have interwoven their lives and security agreements with US. Trump is tearing this apart causing seismic upheaval worldwide so he is of course held up to scrutiny. Is this man fit for the very important office he holds?

Kennedy Center Renamed Trump-Kennedy Center Amid Controversy
Given his preponderance for slathering everything with his name this comes as no surprise really. We can probably look forward to : The Grand Trumpyon The statue of Trumpity The golden Trump bridge The Empire Trump building Mount Trumpmore Trump Dam Trump falls In truth probably best to just sew it all up and go for the United States of Trump.

Christmas hamper
Apologies. I took it to mean your friend was in Pattaya but you were elsewhere in Thailand. So if you are in another country my suggestion is indeed useless. Guess your best bet then is the post showing those ready made baskets/hampers. The one including the Christmas pudding looks about right!

Knife sharpener
Forgot to add: It also depends on what knife, what metal and blade type. I have a variety of knives even still the first set of Sabatiers I was issued at 'Chef school'. They're ok . Still have several but my best is an ancient Sabatier I've had for 40 years and use almost daily. It was old before I got it. On a job someone actually nicked my cooks knife. The company just gave me this old knife stuck away in a drawer as an apology and replacement. Best knife ever. The heft, the balance. Takes an edge effortlessly and cuts like a dream. Also I have a cheap utility knife I bought for peanuts in Bali one time. Another great knife I use daily. That one bewilders me....

Knife sharpener
Not going to argue with you. You certainly know your knife sharpening. However the Thais I once lived and worked with did indeed use stone not files. However that may not be the norm. I am/was a trained Chef before I changed career. We were taught to use those long poker type file sharpeners which I never got on with. Always preferred a stone myself but in a pinch with nothing else available you could get at least a better edge from blunt to useable with 2 knives. Had a head Chef once who always did that. Personally I didn't have the knack for it. Thanks for the input. Appreciated.

Christmas hamper
They're always so ridiculously overpriced no matter what country you are in. Why not buy the stuff you want from one of the Supermarkets that stocks western stuff and wine or whatever? Buy a basket and some clear cellophane, stuff some pretty red tissue in the bottom arrange your produce of choice within, wrap in the plastic tie with a big red bow and just courier it to them.

Knife sharpener
Pretty much any Thai who works with a machete. There will always be one of them who is respected as the best at it.

Tariffs aren't working
Along with just about every other country. Looking elsewhere to purchase goods and services once happily bought from US. Once you lose your customers like that it won't be a walk in to get them back, if ever.

White House Installs Provocative Plaques Targeting Biden & Obama
Oh. It 'is' real. He's actually done this. Just beyond belief. It's been pretty obvious for some time that he is wholly unfit for the position he holds, but where are the more sane people in Government putting at least 'some' brakes on his brainfarts? it's cringe making at best and so embarrassing for all the US citizens who never voted for or deserve this mess destroying their country's credibility and respect worldwide for all to see.

Europe Blindsided As Trump Pushes Pro-Kremlin Ukraine ‘Peace’
Agree mainly. This pulling away from US should have commenced far sooner. One way or another the relationship is damaged beyond repair. Obama was a well liked US president in Europe which probably kept it going longer than was wise. Too many politicians just going along with the status quo and not enough with the guts and intellect to push for change. The 2nd world war was a long time ago and although US did commit troops, military lives and weapons they never as a people endured the civilian deaths and suffering which those in Europe did. That makes for a whole different attitude. They don't understand us and we Europeans don't understand US complacency. We have less in common really than a shared first language merits.

White House Installs Provocative Plaques Targeting Biden & Obama
This can't be real surely? Although given his endless capacity for lack of dignity, respect and the required gravitas for the President of a huge western nation I almost believe it.

Trump Blasts Sadiq Khan as 'Disgusting Mayor' in Fresh Rant
Well anecdotal opinion of one ( namely me) Londoner born and bred. It's a multi-cultural city and I love it. Khan has been a great Mayor. There's a good reason he has been elected 3 times now. Knife crime? It's not confined to London. We don't have guns so our nutters have to resort to knives. Not good of course but you can't kill nearly so many with a sabatier as you can with those multi shot military guns everybody and his dog seems to be able to own in US. Trump and his crew should attend to their own country's affairs and keep their nose out of other countries business.

Beauty Queen's Eye-Slant Gesture Sparks Backlash Across Asia
Bit of a strange one and without seeing the actual photo which is considered offensive difficult to call. Anyway from a western female viewpoint just about every woman and girl I know when applying their eyeliner makes an upflick at the outer end and a slight point down at the inner side because it's considered attractive and beautifying. It mimics asian eye feature and is a complimentary positive not negative. Depends on context I suppose. Pretty much every younger Thai lady I know uses products and make up to lighten her skin tone. They're not doing that to mock white people. Likewise it's a fact that Asians have slanted eyes and we consider that attractive.

Europe Blindsided As Trump Pushes Pro-Kremlin Ukraine ‘Peace’
Europe is not 'reeling'. Europe has been humouring Trump whilst quietly and effectively getting their Ducks in a row. They've done the calculations, and now they’re ready and able to call in the US debts. A $2.34T Treasury dump. A suicide bomb for the U.S. It means much higher borrowing costs, an angry bond market, and the reality check that this smug “indispensable nation” needs. USA has made itself dispensable. Europe has been very busy. Ukraine is to be supported and brought into the EU whilst the rebuilding and arming will be funded by the billions held in frozen Russian assets. And that is only a part of what Europe has been planning and agreeing whilst Trump screeches nonsense and attacks US neighbours.

Best place for Champagne?
Thanks very much. Looks like a great site and excellent prices. I have an order in my basket but it won't accept that I don't have a Thai phone number. With esim and whatsapp/messenger i really don't usually need it. Hopefully they'll get back to me with a suggestion.

Danish spy agency calls US a potential risk to global security
Sorry to have hurt your feelings. If good ole USA is so marvelous one wonders why you are living in Thailand? 🙂

Danish spy agency calls US a potential risk to global security
It's this level of delusion which is showing USA for the dangerous isolated ill informed populace as they are. He's ended no wars. The man is a senile moron with the emotional capability of a two year old and you lot handed him ultimate power. Yes USA is now a clear and actual danger to the entire planet. We look on with horror and deep sympathy for those in that nation who are trapped there in hell. We'd really prefer you'd keep your mess to yourself though and mind your own damn business.

US plans to start checking all tourists' social media
Nobody from any sane civilised country wants to set foot in that hellhole of a country anyway. Horrible place.

Business As Usual?
"a lot of Thai people have invested a lot of money in this." Exactly, and obviously some who have invested a huge amount have some influence. It's not just subsistence farmers and small shop single owners. It's obvious some very big investors got stuck right in and they won't be letting that all go down the drain.
