  1. Bad plumber surely your post was an attempt at scaraism . The OP is a wind up scam. Mind you not a bad effort with such an original lame OP. 8 PAGES response. I'm waiting in a train station. What's other peoples excuse. Let's do a pass the hat around for the poor troll.

    At last!

  2. Does anyone know what product he is going to sell? Is it goods or a service of some sort?

I'm really getting a feeling he is on to a winner here, if only he was not so coy about his business model.

Of course I understand that in the high powered world of business it is sometimes prudent to play your cards close to your chest. This tells me he is a careful chap who is likely to be rich all over again.

Is your other handle "jackvale" by any chance? Because no one else could possibly be so gullible.

    Jeez, who is gullible exactly?

  3. Unless the Scots are terminally stupid, they will of course vote no to independence.

Apart from the whole raft of fiscal reasons, their fragile emotional psyche could not bear being unable to blame the English for every single one of their real or imagined problems.

On the other hand, there is absolutely no doubt what would happen if the English were given the exact same referendum.

  5. One thing I have noticed about Thai drivers, usually in a car or pickup: if you're going to pull out in front of an oncoming vehicle, causing it to have to brake or change lane, always make your manouver as sloooowly as possible to cause the maximum amount of inconvenience and danger to every other road user in the area.

I'm pretty sure this must be in the thaiway code.

  6. What exactly do you mean by "rich"? perhaps you could give us some numbers for context.

Also, perhaps I am being a bit dim, but doesn't online selling involve holding stock of some sort? where does this fit into your master plan?

Finally, why are you incapable of setting up your own website?

    Just curious.

  7. I've put up a feature wallpaper on one wall of my condo and unfortunately it clashes with my curtains.

It would be hugely expensive to change the curtains, so I am looking at the possibility of having them dyed. They are currently a dark red / maroon sort of colour and I would like them to be transformed, magically, to beige or white.

Anyone got any experience, advice or recommendations?

    Thanks

  8. Surely if you've hung hundreds of rolls of paper yourself, you could easily do it without bringing anything over to do the job.

You don't know much about this sort of thing do you?
Being a qualified decorator, yes,I rather think I do,

I don't think so. Never mind mate, troll away if it makes you happy.

  9. Are you saying that you want to over pay, so that payment will pay for future months, while you are gone??

I would think, you could, but I have never tried.  You can also sign up for autopay, or whatever that is called, from your bank account ...but that takes a liltle work and time.  But it is a good solution for people who are here and not here, for large amounts of time.  I used to do that for all my bills here.

Yep, that's what I want to do. I did hear that setting up the Thai equivalent of a standing order was tricky, hence the question. Oh well, I'll just have to rely on friends paying it for me for a few months.

  10. i have wallpapered before in an old house to cover bad walls

i bought the 42 rolls of paper from a shop on theprassit road

the installation by their in house decorator was included in the price

he may do jobs on the side

Thanks for that, but I have decided to do it myself. The paper is a very expensive Italian one and, on reflection, it deserves better than some random decorator who may or may not know what he's doing. So, it can wait a few months. Thanks all for the helpful suggestions.

  11. Hi all

I have a condo, to which I need two walls decorated with a feature wallpaper, which I am supplying. It is hard to imagine an easier job. If I were doing it I would estimate it would take me 3 hours, but a professional maybe 2. The actual coverage is about 2.5 rolls as one of the walls has a ginormous mirror on it which does not need to be removed.

I had a quote and was surprised at the cost - 4K baht for less than half a days work. I have no objection to paying the guys day rate, but do decorators really earn this much per day? The only cost involved is the paste, which I'm assuming doesn't have flecks of Thai gold mixed in.

I've hung 100's of rolls of paper and believe me, this is an easy job. I'm not a complete tight arse, but it would annoy me everytime time I looked at the walls if I paid this much, knowing I had had my pants taken down.

My options are to bring the gear over to do the job myself on my next visit (can't find the stuff I need here) or find someone more reasonable.

    Anyone know anyone?
