  1. Should be getting the email from my Canadian embassy any minute now.

Oh yeah, they aren't awake there now.

Is Pattaya safe? Well look where the bomber was before he went back to Bkk. I have 4 Mosques around me so not sure if I'm safe or not.

These folk wont sh*t on there own doorsteps if they can help it. You and your 4 Mosques should be safe.........

No problems at all in Pattaya, I can confidently say that as I have never been cowboy.gif

  2. A life should never be taken full stop, this is why the human race is on self destruction mode, talk before thinking, act with out thinking!!!

Maybe the world is in such a pickle because of people that think like you! Here are a few examples of scum that have no right to live once caught.

    1. Child rapists.

    2. Woman beaters and rapists.

    3. Serial killers

    4. Drug lords.

    5. Contract Murderers

    6. Terrorists

    7. Drug Pushers

    8. Career Criminals

    9. Dictators and War criminals like Hitler, Sadum Haussan, Kudaffee etc

I am sure with some extra thought this list could easily be expanded. But hopefully you get the point. Maybe you acted without thinking! clap2.gif

True as the day is long.

Why let scum live when all they do is cause suffering.

Mitigating circumstances are all good and well but, if you do the crime then you got to be ready to do the time (Or suffer that countries consequences)

  3. I can't bear those dogs. There's invariably a sense of menace about them. And their owners for that matter. The whole breed, along with their tattooed owners should be placed in a giant industrial mincer, ground to a pulp, and eradicated.

Couldn't agree with you more. Horrible breed, Horrible people.

PS - I'm sure there are exceptions though just to keep everyone happy here.

  4. and this came from Thaksin i take it !

you cant convict a man/women of a crime with a half hearted investigation and then kill them within 60 days, how many innocent people set up will lose thier lives?

If a person is found with vast amounts of Yabba/Ice in their possession then why not a speedy execution ?

Planted? , false confession? , stiching up someone else? ......

the answer is not to kill the mules/small dealers, but to go to the top level !, as all that will happen is someone will take thier place !

At first I thought good stuff but your right its the poor innocents who will be killed and the real scum who deserve this punishment are relaxing in there mansions, in another country, running the country etc.....

  5. I hope the green light is given as it could be a good thing for the area. No more premonitions from madmen fearing the dam will burst

    HUH!!!!!!

'Put more water behind for the dam to hold, so that means it is less risk of bursting.'

    Another absurdity.

Sorry what I meant to say is I hope it brings work to the people of Tak and surrounding areas. Yes I know there are the people who want more easy money but that will never stop. So I've stopped going on about that sort of change.

If people don't like how the country is run then go home. Whether you have been here 1 day or 30 years what do you think it's all about?? ฿฿฿ is all it's about.

I know if work was scheduled up this way then Im guessing my family will get some of the pie, happy family equals quiet life for me.

Regards the tunnel then it would be built to take away from the dam and use another vast resource..... Supposedly.

Only such an ABSURDITY will mean that lives will hopefully be saved if the proverbial hit the fan.

Why should only people in BKK benefit from improvements.

This is only a suggestion I take my posts usually with a pinch of salt, a point of view is all I'm offering.

I think you missed the bit about the tunnel bringing MORE water into the dam.

More water means more chance of bursting, which will mean more water released, which will mean more flooding downstream.

I did see that but then right at the top of the article it gives you this......

"He said water management at Tak's Bhumibol Dam should be adjusted and the reservoir's water level lowered in preparation for possible rainstorms throughout the year. The dam could then play a role as a water-retention area, he said.

Uthen said the tunnel, when built, would be able to send 3,000 cubic metres of water to the Bhumibol Dam per second.

The volume should be large enough to generate electricity, he said."

Who knows??? All I know is I am not getting involved anymore mfr_closed1.gif

  6. how embarassing for the thai gov;t , ....seems the same the world over though ,......... governments are looking to the rich to make donations , its crazy , why does anyone need 9000000000000000000000000000000000000 dollars ?, capitalism gone mad , soooooooo many greedy b**tards out there watching their fellow humans living hand to mouth , struggling to get an education ,.............99% of wealth is owned by 1% ,................<deleted> !! sad ................... VIVE LA REVELUTION !!.....

    Sorry,...........nearly started a coup then clap2.gif

Over the years I have been involved with the so called University system here, and its all about money. They use the pretext of caring about the students and offering all the fancy BS programs with fancy names, but its really like sign up, pay your money, put in a small effort, and your likely to pass. If not, well it's the teachers fault and BTW, we at least have some of your money. If I could only go further and tell you what I've learned from the experience, but not a good idea. Most, with experience, already know.

+1 to all of what you said

  8. Abhisit did nothing to deal with the impending disaster during his term & is now criticising every attempt to find solutions. Where are his suggestions on solving the problem?

I agree but he wasn't thinking of the future he was thinking of then. It never happened on his watch so of course he can criticize as much as he likes. It is the job of the opposition to bitch and bitch he shall.

  9. Just do it, hush hush is the key. I was a successful seller in the UK but it will be a different ball game over here but I think Ebay is a shop where everyone and anyone can sell things.

I bought things from the US, Hong Kong and Singapore off of Ebay and it is commonly known as a International auction website. Unless Thailand has taken itself off the International stage then crack on.

Contact Ebay to check, they are good and will get back to you

  10. My 3yo is now starting up Firefox on his mum's laptop, selecting a youtube video "The ABC Song" from the favourites list and surfing on from there to find all sorts of stuff interesting to a 3yo. Don't do The Kids down. Give them a chance, and they'll show far more intelligence than the older generations.

I'm not doing the kids down, the part of your post that I would highlight is "your 3yo"

A class full of children headed by a teacher with no experience of the technology is no way the same situation.

The first batch of tablets goes to first graders (about 6yo?) as far as I understand. Interesting indeed a class full of them.

Note that some youngsters may show remarkable ability even as three year olds, but the example given may not be the 'average Thai home/family environment'. Still many where mum doesn't have a laptopdry.png

Dont foget the reports of the rural folk already proposing that when the tablets arrive Jonny Farrang from the village has been promised it in exchange for a cash alternative as before mentioned rural folk apparenty said "I have 6 kids this is a good deal". No need for Mummy to have a laptop with such bargains to be had.

    You stay classy

  11. Perfectly good stretch of road is the Pitsanulok-Tak road. I will admit on a quiet Sunday afternoon to have been doing 1, 7, and 0 kph and it's not bouncy or dangerous (much). If the driver is telling the truth then it was unfortunate and not to condone the speeding but it could have been just a freak accident. Funnily enough as safe as this road is my first ever journey on it I had a cow run into the side of my car at 80kph. Cow was fine and I had 7,000 bahts worth of damage, shame I didn't know the insurance would cover it.

    RIP those unfortunate souls

Of importance is, what shape are the tires in? Most of them run thin to bald. Could be the driver is telling the truth, and a tire just reached the end of its life. In any other country a commercial driver would be held responsible for the condition of the vehicle he drives.

I thought the same thing aswell, the tyres are usually in a state from what ive seen here. I wonder whose feet the blame will eventually land at?? If anyone ever hears another thing about this.

Sad and definately not the last
