AYC recruit teachers with or without degrees, easy to get a job, you might however, find yourself out in the sticks, as not all of their contacts are in Bangkok.
Read the forums on ajarn.com about some of the agencies then decide.

I would say try and find something to do in the evenings other than chasing or looking try finding a hobby, play some sports and maybe you will get what your looking for where you least expect it.
That's my 2 bahts worth, best of luck if we haven't lost you already

Thanks for another installment of the "Bash the Shinawatra's Show", Im by no means on there side but everyday is the same old same old reports of will he or wont he.
I understand you have to report something but its the same sort of guff each day.
Just saying
If it wasn't justified it wouldn't be happening.
All I mean is that the reporting is the same each day. It's like copy and paste previous article and add a little about the latest happenings. We all know the script but the Nation is anti Team Shinawatra that it floors the whole article.
As long as they can free the red shirts jailed for crimes then all is good in the world don't you think ;-)

Just when you think things couldn't get any crazier, oh right were in Thailand, it's the norm.....

Brilliant post Mr Jerkoff ;-)
Love the effort that has gone into this post and I hope your not left with your pants around your ankles in the middle of nowhere (unless your into that sort of thing)
Don't worry, turn up and ask at your hotel for help, youll be fine.
Take care

Drooling at just the idea of a nice few slices of bread, home cooked fish, chips and mushy peas with a good sprinkling of salt and vinegar and a good amount of HP Brown Sauce.
Depending on how talented I would be feeling then it would all be on a butty (sandwich for anyone not from the north of England) and professionally or so I thought cut in half for double the enjoyment.
Farrangs of the world (THAILAND) unite.
Lets get a good old fashioned chip shop and make it into a chain.
They have kebap (no spelling mistake your kebab comes in a kind of role/bap??) in Hua Hin and many other foreign eateries but lets get a traditional English chippy.
Off raiding the fridge now

Simply crazy, lets hope justice is done........

Haha, I drive mine onto the ramp aswell theres no way Im being blamed for faulty steering wheel or car seat moving or simply brain not functioning when driving up the ramp.
Wally is a word that is under appreciated a lot.
If you can slip wally into your daily life then it makes you feel better I promise

Thank you very much "thequietman"
Yes I agree flash cards are great, the kids are apparently a good bunch with a grasp of English a wee bit so thats an advantage straight away. I wont be alone though as I will have an in class Thai teacher supporting me so I'm praying the demo will be like the actual job I've applied for if not I'm still confident I can get the right results from the kids.
Yes I'm the funny farang I do everything but play the clown with the kids, although sometimes its tempting after watching some of the Thai TV shows.
Thank you again
-
Its not for another week and a bit so I hope someone will pop up with some pearls of wisdom.
I have got it covered I think but its just nice to hear some other ideas and as you say if some demo monsters read this then please feel free to give me some words of loving.
Thank you

The guy indeed does want cheaper insurance, I dont want to cut corners, like in the UK Im not paying £1000 when I can pay £500-600?
Makes perfect sense to me?
I'm not looking for Cowboys or Shoot from the hip insurance but saving some of MY well earned money is all I want to do.
And F yeah if I had some sort of jet wash at my gaff I would be washing and waxing my car but for now I will keep on getting the 300 baht wash and then waxing it at my leisure, no way im paying for a wax in this country, sorry thats rude of me, where I live they are wallys at the local car wash Im sure its fine at your end as the grass is always greener on some other TV users plots

Hello Teaching Forum, this is my first post here.
Im currently teaching in Nakhon Pathom but unfortunately my boss is a cowboy and as tight as cramp with a wage.
Anywhooo, I've got an interview with what I will only describe as an awesome school with awesome prospects.
Great pay
Great hours
Great OT if I want it
ETC...ETC....
I have an interview / demonstration for this job which I have had a million interviews and can hold my own talking about anything to anyone.
Now the demonstration is another story, at first it was a cheeky 20 minute say hello to some students get them talking and don't scare them.
Now its a 20-30 minute English affair with a 20-30 minutes Maths affair, so call it an hours class with 2 subjects and lots of eyes watching me, directors other staff you name it. Now this doesn't scare me infact quite the opposite I'm ready and have lots of ideas.
My good Thai Teacher Visa type people, all I ask is a few ideas to throw around regards linking the 2 and not stopping and making it feel like 2 classes, I'd love some ideas of how to fill the time and not just pass the time.
I'm a fairly new teacher (1 year) so be gentle, I'm ex-military and can tell a class of grown ups what to do but the little dears are another story.
I've had great results with the children I've worked with so far in Thailand and just want to WOW the directors.
I've already told them I am the man for the job and I know I am 100% confident of getting the result I want.
So help or don't help It will all be appreciated if positive and if its negative then you can go take a walk off a cliff. (Sorry no offence intended in advance) ;-)
The class will be aimed at Prathom 1 aged 5-6-7 is that?
Thank you and take care

Thanks for both thoughts, Im still unsure, I headed to the CAT website but its not much use, Ill need to go into a store i think.
Im about 20km from the main town centre and about 10ish km to the nearest small town with internet, phone lines etc.
Of the 20 houses in the village none have a land line all bad reception mobiles, but none would have the money to install a landline
thank you

Simple or not so simple I dont know, Ive got a Chevrolet Colorado 4 years old.
Current insurance per year is just over 15,000 baht that covers damage not health or medical so I found out when a motorbike hit me but was still my fault.
Anyone know of cheaper deals?
