Polite way of water rationing?

Say what they like as per most things here its NEVER ENFORCED !
There is little to no real consequences for any actions by enforcement if and when enforcement ever happens.
If burning crops, confiscate the land, see how quick they get the message then.
That's the crux of it all CH. Even if caught the fine is minimal and I hate to say it, probably ends up in a negotiation with the police where they take the money to split and the burning continues. As my wife says..."Only in Thailand". So TVF will now see hundreds of new threads and thousands of posts about bad air, people whinging and another year begins. SOS....
Next up is the heat, then the drought and no rain, and then cold winter and then the burning. ????

Perks -
1. No visa required to stay in Thailand.
2. Can use Thai Passport Only lane at the Thai Int airports.
3. You can put your name in the Blue House Book.
4. Can become Director of a Thai public company ( I highly doubt it tho)
5.You may get loans from Thai banks (Not credit cards)
6.Can apply for extension of your Non Thai family members.
7. Can apply for Thai citizenship after holding PR for 5 Years.
Thanks Dr Joy. I was serious with my question. I have been living and working in Thailand since 2016 and paid in Thai Baht and pay Thai taxes.
Another question. Lets say I decided to resign from my job after my PR is in place, is that PR status stopped?
Thanks

What are the perks of becoming a PR?

As a suggestion, check to see if the settings have changed from "Normal" to "Constant Pressure"

You can get a work permit if you have a 90 day non-o visa entry or extension of stay based upon marriage. A copy of your marriage certificate would be needed when the application is done. You can even use the income from working to show 40k baht of income to apply for the extension.
Some employers will say you have to apply for a extension based upon working and others will incorrectly say you have to have a non-b visa entry.
As per Ubonjoe, I have lived and worked here on a marriage Visa extension for years. no need to change to a B. Just apply and show marriage certificate

BUT - why would / should we be forced to take avoiding action in the first place?????
I agree with you RS but lets be honest here. Riding a motorcycle anywhere in the world takes a road awareness and skill to avoid unfortunate events. I have had to avoid numerous "events" in the states, not with wrong way riders but people who just do not look. Honestly I have had far less "Near Misses" here in Thailand versus the States and in Mexico. The rider in the video is very inexperienced and him going down could have been and should have been easily avoided.

Although the Thai m/c was clearly in the wrong, the farang didn't appear to slow down approaching an intersection.
Absolutely the Thai guy was in the wrong. That said though, the foreigner is clearly a very inexperienced rider. I can't believe he fell off his moto and a scooter no less. He clearly needs more seat time.

They don't mind at all,
I seldom ever ask anyone for help. Like Charlie in post 2 I think, once you establish a few things then you can manage pretty easily. All my information is paperless, I have bank acct in the states that I do all online and they have a live chat if I need anything. My Dad is the only one that does anything for me and that's because I use his address and sometimes I get some weird rebate check and he is linked to my bank acct so he walks to the bank and deposits it for me. That's extent of my needs
Some may ask why keep anything back in the states, I do it for a couple of reasons but primarily to keep myself established in case my wife and I decided to return to the US. Keeping an active bank acct, drivers license and a permanent mailing address are just good basics.

Nope....???? Thanks for asking. Great health currently. I did tell my wife that if I should croak suddenly that they use the bottle as an accelerant in the burn chamber. One way or another I am going to enjoy it.

I would rather avoid too much pain, which is another question, so I would like the choice when I go and how, hence my stash of 100 Tramadol pills and a bottle of the finest Scottish single malt.
My sentiment exactly. I have some good meds stashed away and very rare bottle of 20 year old Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon. Which ironically I am dying to open...????

Honestly, would need to see a much broader picture to understand the issue. Looks normal to me, all AC's have drain down spouts.

Additionally, I installed a low cost but very nice little Solar LED light. Works great so no need to pull power to it unless of course you want a fan but i'd guess you can find a solar set up. ????

If you get a good quality Sala its heavy, Just have it set on small cement pads to keep the termites away and reduce water damage.
Enjoy it, I love mine.

For best results, let it come to room temperature first.
Always. Let it defrost naturally in fridge. Then take out, hand season and let the steak come to room temperature before dropping it on the grill. A quick sear for a few mins on each side, drop heat and can cut it with a butter knife. ????.

I have always had very good quality from both Villa and Foodland at Terminal 21 albeit Villa seems to be a bit better and will cut to size and vacuum pack. I grab up a variety of Ribeyes, Striploin and Tenderloins when I am down that way on business. I always have them cut them 4 to 5 cm thick and then vacuum pack and pack on ice. Very nice pulling one out the freezer and tossing it on the grill.

A person 2 checks away from bankruptcy should not be considering an oversea's holiday, extremely irresponsible act but a mindset that has likely got them into their predicament.
I gotta say, that is the American way for most. Spend what you do not have and pay it back later at 18%.
I agree with a few others, $25K is not an awful lot of money. This will however definitely keep the cheap charlies from coming over here. Thailand clearly wants to change their image but they really do not have a plan.
Like many Thai new rules and requirements, they are implemented and then rescinded after they see the impact.
Personally I am enjoying the no tourists here. So pleasant, Beaches clean, resorts low cost, Not dodging hundreds of caravans of super buses.

When we tried to get it from the office where they registered the marriage
My wife and I were married in the states so we had the marriage doc. Did not need to register it here.
But to your point, the first one was complicated only because you are navigating the process. After a few...no problem

Its quite a list of things you need including photos inside and outside of your house, affidavit saying you were single when married, marriage certificate, updated doc saying you are still married each year, statements from the bank a few days before apply, bank book when you apply and when you go back to collect the extension, rental agreement and wifes blue book. They may also come for a visit when you are under consideration each year. Sure I forgot some things from the list but I think if you meet all the requirements and married legally you should be ok.
Oh Yeah, didn't discuss details. ???? Once you have done it a few years its a cake walk once you set up the template. My wife and I can prepare all the docs in about an hour, Then a quick stop at the bank for the income info which I do on my way to the appt and drop it all off.

It is my understanding, that is true. Age is not a requirement as long as you show a marriage verification and sustain 400K in the bank. They can then apply for annual extensions..

The post is about Thais, so comments will relate to that.
I agree with you 100%, it sadly happens all over the world, we (the human race) are unfortunately not very nice to our fellow men/women.
I absolutely agree Spoon1967. The human race behaves poorly to each other. I made my comment as I typically always read this "Thai Save face" for everything that happens here. Saving face is nothing more than Ego so why give it a special name? This guy shot those people out of impulsive anger and his ego was hurt in front of an audience. I am from the states and these kinds of shootings are sadly common events for the same exact reasons.
The pathetic thing though is that people can kill people and the penalty or consequences for their action is just down right stupid.

Isn't that why most people shoot anybody? Why is it that people always make it about Thais exclusively. Ego, Loss of face, impulse, anger. Same same. This isn't really big news at all. Just another shooting like can be seen virtually anywhere in the world on any given day.
