A similar country wide plan should be implemented so the whole country knows what these crossings mean, otherwise when out of town visitors arrive they will not understand this rule applies to ALL THAIS & Foreigners alike.

Marine scientists at Chulalongkorn University say that it may take a year or more for impacts from the recent oil spill in the sea off Rayong province to manifest on corals in the area.
Correct and it will take much longer for the corals to recover if ever.

What can you expect when previously it was reported by the authorities that going the wrong way along a one-way street or going through a red light was a minor offence - You reap what you sow

Additional information required here, for the interim it appears to be sloppy safety procedures as even if a connection failed there must have been some signs that would have been spotted following adequate equipment safety checks. - RIP

This is the kind of BAD international press that Thailand deserves and will hopefully embarrass them enough into dropping this shambolic, pathetic, ripoff system, which does absolutely F all regards the safety of the country… esp when people are picking the thing up locally. Drop this nonsense and bloody well grow up Thailand!
Absolutely correct, this report needs to be published in all the worlds leading news outlets plus the travel companies

They're not, but that's what happens in hospitals, like it or not.
Do I have to like it or not? By the way a friend of mine in the UK did have a blood test while being treated so I suppose it does depend on the treatment, he wad also charged with DUI

Treatment of injuries is done before blood/alcohol tests are done in hospitals!

I'm afraid that you are incorrect, nowhere on this thread/OP, which is what is being discussed has the word "reeked" used, apart from by you.
I suggest you check out all reports on this not just the ones that suit you, I do agree that blood tests are not usually done at the roadside but should have been completed upon arrival at the hospital.

As per the full article, it seems as if the pickup has pulled out without looking, and the bike has hit it.
Bike has racing mods, suspension, tyres etc, so we can assume it was not being driven in a careful or proper manner either.
And... the carnage continues.
Difficult to really know what happened, night time did the bike have it's lights on or as you suggest did the pickup pull out without looking needs to be confirmed.

I'm afraid you are incorrect -
In the latest terrible accident an innocent road surfacing worker called Ekachai, 33, was killed by a 22 year old man in a Land Rover on the expressway in Klong Toei, Bangkok.
The young driver reeked of alcohol, said the media.
This story is reported by ASEAN NOW elsewhere this morning.
