  1. We all know he's not the brightest footballer on the planet but I doubt whether he'd jeapodize his future at Real Madrid in such an obvious manner. I'm sure he'll stay with them for the week, as he mentioned.

Does anyone know why the FA have lined up yet another farcical tour?

  2. In addition to the points above, there are other, significant factors that cannot be formulated into a mathematical equation. Most notably that those who have become infected with HIV in this country often do not stop sleeping around. In fact, some (one or two documented on this website somewhere) will intentionally go and sleep with as many people as they can as a form of revenge for contracting it in the first place.

I'd be very careful of sleeping with anyone who offers you unprotected sex without it being a problem. Via friends I've heard of two girls in the Nana area who are so angry with foreigners, whom they have contracted the virus from, that they want nothing other than to infect as many people as they can. Again, there are other documented cases of this on this website.

The whole thing makes me shudder and feel glad I'm not involved with the nightlife scene, and that those who are, those that regularly have unprotected sex (I know of two people that do) are bloody idiots.

Use a condom mate. Alternatively, try masturbation. You know Woody Allen once said 'Don't knock masturbation, it's sex with someone I love'. :o

  3. Go and see a doctor mate it's not worth the risk. You won't be able to tell what strain you have (and what the possibility of haemorrage is) until it is diagnosed. A lot of people in this country have suffered badly and even died from not taking fevers seriously enough, don't be one of them and get some medical help mate.

Put it another way: what have you got to lose?

  4. I doubt whether it is as straightforward as you say. You need to look into why your friend's partner had her visa rejected. You claim that she had a good job in Bangkok which if true means that you have good grounds for investigating the case, and I'd strongly advise you/your friend to do so. Bear in mind though that he will have to prove that their relationship is genuine and that they genuinely intend to settle in the U.K.

Much of the questioning during a visa application is to determine whether or not the relationship underpinning the application is genuine or not. Personally I'd say that civil servants weren't doing their job if they didn't adopt such an approach, owing to the fact that so many women who apply for such visas have, shall we say, 'dubious' work histories. Many women who have visas rejected have had previous rejections. I would advise your friend to look into this and determine what the exact reason for the visa rejection is.

You never know, he may end up thanking the civil servants that knocked back his rejection rather than cursing them.

  5. Don't know Boston that well but was in Ely and Cambridge last year and met lots of Thai's there. Also remember seeing a Thai restaurant or two in Spalding. Am sure Boston is big enough to have at least one or two Thai's. As for English classes, you'd be best sending her to a language school as it's the quickest and easiest wsy to make friends.

  6. Am inclined to agree that Man.Utd should have won the game though can't really say they were the better team. Suspect the occasion got the better of both of them but couldn't help but think after the game that if this is the best that the 2nd and 3rd best teams in England can do it doesn't say much for ones below them.

Definately a poor advert for English football.

Going on the strength of that game, definately Chelsea to win the title next season...unless Liverpool stop them.

  7. From what I remember, they were introduced to make the leagues more exciting, so that teams in 8th/9th place with a month or two to go still had something to play for. Outside of that I see them as largely academic as teams that are promoted via them tend to go straight down the next year, this is especially so with The Championship, as it's called now. Yes, I suppose it's unfair as the lower leagues are primarily about consistency rather than beating any particular team on their day (which most teams can do).

  8. Pink -it was in in the 80's. I had a pink benetton top back then. These days however, it's quite likely that someone will think you are gay, rightly or wrongly. That would be enough to put me off buying one but that's just me. You could probably get away with wearing a pink shirt in an office, but I personally wouldn't go out in one.

  9. Difficult to explain because it depends on where you are coming from. If you know Petchaburi Road, then it's more or less off that but to be honest all you need to do is get in a taxi and say R.C.A. If you're downtown, you'd be hard-pressed to find a driver who doesn't know where it is. Ezze is about half-way along and has a distinctive blue sign, which should make it easy to find.

  10. Okay: beers are priced between 130-160 a bottle, which is cheaper than some nightclubs, and you get a blue label across the top to show that it's an imported item. As we know, you can't put a price on good beer, though you can deem it to be a luxury, which will definately add to the cost of your night significantly, owing to the fact that it has a tendency to go down like water. I have liked Leffe for a long time and can never drink less than 3 in one go.

Wines: lots of good wines from around the world on sale. Again not cheap, but you could pick up a decent table wine for around 500.

Parking: none that I saw for cars, though there's a few steps outside the shop/store to park your rear on, should you wish to down your beers/wines before going anywhere else.

  11. Additionally, two records have been broken in two successive years now by the champions of England (going undefeated&conceeding the least amount of goals in a season). I doubt whether their are any other leagues in Europe which can make such a claim. Still not entirely sure what this says about the state of our league though. Perhaps all we can say is that recently it has been won in a more impressive manner than any other league.

  12. It's called Wine Collection, and they've just opened a shop in the new shopping plaza opposite Nana. :o Apart from selling a lot of good wines, they also sell a lot of bottled Czech beer, and my favourite, the Belgian Beer Leffe. If you like good beer, it's worth having a look.

  13. After reading the thread entitled piss up, it's still not clear to me when and where people are meeting.

I know for certain that come this Saturday I will be watching the footy in Gullivers, Soi 5 and just wondered whether anyone else wanted to join.

Would be nice to meet a few people, and meet for a serious piss up at a later date.

  14. Stage-divers, moshers, headbangers, air-guitarists and would-be satanists, I need a bit of advice.

Occasionally, I get the urge to go somewhere and have my eardrums blasted by some decent heavy metal.

Where's a good place to go? Now they must serve beer. And some women in leather wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Alright mate, there's a place on Lang Suan apparently, near the traffic lights at the end of the soi near Lumpini Park.

Never been inside, but what somebody told me who went around a year ago, it was pretty dead. Still, it's a start...

Cheers mate, yeah this one I know of, but it's the only place I know of. And it was also dead when I went there. There's a place in Soi Zero that lets you choose your own music. There's quite a bit of metal in their catalogue. How about other places that let you choose your own music.

Does anyone know of such establishments?

  16. I go running along the roads. The pollution and heat don't bother me in the slightest. I find that I sweat almost as much from walking, at least if you go at a brisk pace you get a breeze. I used to think that people were nuts to go running in Thailand but having done it constantly for the last 6 months I can't say that's there's anything particularly difficult about it.
