  1. Got the 700 (1920x1080 resolution). Excellent machine in every respect. I have several other tablets but this is the best I have seen. Bought it in USA from Amazon.

Does anyone know the price of the current transformer 700 here in thailand, will it drop now the new machines have been announced. Might be an option if the price is low. Does it still run on Ice Cream Sandwich.

Mine is running JB 4.2.1. Think they are getting more difficult to find but see one on Tohome.com The tf300 is more readily available and see it on Invadeit.com. I ordered mine from B&H Photo in the US as could not find one in Thailand that didn't come with the docking station as that added quite a bit to the cost and I didn't need it.

Thanks for the link. The quote it as the Prime, do they mean that or the 700? The price seems a bit steep at 23,590, especially when you can get the good MemoPad at 10,690. Hope the new Transformer is under 20,000.

  3. I am definitely going to buy either the new Transformer Infinity or the Trio, depending on the price differential. They both look awesome. They never seem to sell Asus products here in Pattaya. Where do you recommend buying in BKK? MBK or Pantip? Can't wait till Q3.

  4. It's funny you should post that, i live in Pattaya and have exactly the same problem. I have had Truevisions out 2 times already but it doesn't improve. I thought there might be a problem with my set up but it sounds like Truevisions are sending poor quality signals.

When i look at the signal strength it is 80%+ but the signal quality is very low.

Nothing to do with the weather, happens on a clear day. When it does rain i lose the signal altogether.

    i am in pattaya too

    i have no such problems

    not even when it rains

    sorry you have

maybe the dish needs re-aligning with a meter

not just by eye by the true installers

The odd thing is that it's worse on some channels, particularly 130 HBO HD while other channels are fine.

  6. Avoid Tuk.Com..............too many copies to be wary of

I think you have to be careful at Tukcom but if you go to one of the main retailers there, like Wattana, they are OK. I noticed yesterday they were selling an i3 Samsung with 4gb ram for 12,900 baht. I bought a Samsung RV418 from Wattana there and it's been great (with copy windows).

  7. I agree with WayWardWind but if you chose the mail you can go to Soi Post Office off beach Rd. Quite well known for farangs and I believe it is soi 13 or soi 13/1? Maybe someone can say for sure.

It's Soi 13/2, but always crowded. Also Post Offices at Sawang Fa Road, Naklua and Jomtien Soi 5 (Immigration Soi).

I never find it crowded. Whenever i go in i usually just walk straight up to the counter and get served immediately. Much better than the UK.

  8. Does anyone know if this is available in Thailand yet. I see it's on sale now in the UK form 399 GBP.

It seems to tick all the right boxes as an android tablet that can beat the ipad. I hope it's not overpriced as i wouldn't pay 20,000 + when i can get an ipad4 for 14,500.
