And we all have to thank the Islamic terrorist for that, who made traveling a pain in the ass with all the security scrutinise time consuming and the billions that it costs the airlines which we the travelers ultimately pay for...
Not true... There have been 44 cases of bombs being planted on Airliners in the history of flying, the first 33 did not involve Palestinians, Al Qaeda or ISIS. Most attacks were by Americans, Russians and assasination attempts by non-muslims. One bombing was attributed to a CIA assasination. The worst loss of life of 331 pasengers was carried out by a Sikh. The use of Liquid explosives as a bomb was started by the North Koreans who successfully brought down Korean Air Flight 858, killing 115 people. For that reason tighter security was introduced looking for liquids and other methods to conceal bombs. In the UK, since the 1972 Aldershot bombing by the U.S. funded IRA terrorists, passengers were already subject to ever increasing checks. The Lockerbie bombing of a TWA flight was carried out by the Libyans who were supplying the IRA with weapons and bomb making materials, financed by the U.S. The few attempts by Al Qaeda to get liquid bombs on planes have been thwarted outside of Russia, who need to increase their screening.

I also flew direct from Bangkok to London by B.A. 5 years ago. The condition of the aircraft was appalling, the seats bad and they still had the ultra small TV screens on the back of the seats which were so scratched and the viewing quality so bad, the in flight movies were unwatchable. I think they leased the planes from Air India. I went back to using Qatar Airways which I have made over 100 flights on. The next worse flight I had was on Sri Lanka Airlines. The seats were like deck chairs and the food was brought around in big tureens and ladled onto individual's plates. The worst was on a Pakistan airways flight, in the '80s, when a passenger got out a camping stove and started to cook some curry.

He is talking about 7 visa exempt tourist entries, not tourist visas. This is not the new normal, it has been this way for the last 20 years. It has been reported many times by Thai Visa. I have had this problem several times as I was working in Libya from 2004 to 2010 on a 10 weeks on 3 weeks off rotation and had to use the visa exempt tourist entry, although married to a Thai. Thai immigration stopped me once and refused me entry due to multiple visa free entries and only got let in after I pointed out that a friend was the former head of Immigration and was expecting me for a get together. There are quite a number of ex-pats with Thai wives that work overseas on rotation that have no choice other than to use the 30 day visa exempt method, as they cannot be here to make an annual extension based on marriage etc.

I had this problem once. Flew to Singapore for a meeting in the airport transit area with a friends transiting through Singapore Airport. Neither of us entered Singapore but I exited Thailand. They gave my agro at Immigration because they said I must enter the other country. (Thai logic). I remember years ago a friend used to go to a border crossing, get stamped out and then go to the the end of the building and get stamped back in again. It seems like there are people still using this system. I do not believe that there is anything in the regulations that stated you have to enter another country after receiving an exit stamp.

In the beginning it belonged to the Khmer Empire known as Funan and inhabited mainly by Khmer and Mon people. The Tais came from China and started colonys along the Chaophraya. The Khymer eventually gave part of their empire to the Tais and it became known as Siam and later Thailand (The land of the Tais). Although Thailand was not colonised, much of the Government and infrastructure was run by foreigners. Much of the early architecture including Royal Buildings were designed by Italians who were persuaded to change their names to Thai and were given Thai citizenship. The same applied to the trams and railways which were run by the Danes. The Dutch, Germans and other Europeans were involved in the ports and trading. The Portugeuse had a colony up stream of Bangkok along the river.

Thai style. If they get one purchaser on the hook, they stall thinking they may get a higher price from another possible buyer. Happened to me, I pulled out and the property was still for sale, standing empty, a year later.

He should still leave Thailand immediately before he gets arrested for Lese Majeste for stepping on the KIng's portrait on the 1,000 Baht notes.

We are the 63% who did not vote to leave. The referendum was supposed to have been advisory and the law requires a majority of 55% of those who voted before the Government should action Brexit. In other words the referendum result was to Remain. Foreign influence, illegal campaign contributions by millionaires and lies such as the GBP350Million/week payable to the EU and immigration swayed the vote. Many ex-pats in Europe and overseas were not given a chance to vote. Most jurisdictions require a majority of 60% (EU55%) for such an action as Brexit which has already done severe damage to the UK economy. As for having a second referendum, if the Government can have three votes on it and consider a fourth, why should the public not have a second referendum based on the real facts and not the lies spread by Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage? This time let's follow the law on referendums and enforce the 55% majority rule, then Remain will win by a clear majority. Clearly we have "Leave" to "Remain".

The ex-pat should leave the country immediately as under the lèse majesté law it is an offence to step on a banknote bearing the image of the King. His action in stepping on the banknotes has gone viral in Thailand. Other foreigners have been arrested and jailed merely for stepping on Thai banknotes that they themselves have dropped. The offence can carry a minimum sentence of 3 years and/or a fine. One foreigner was fined B500,000 for a similar action of lèse majesté.

I feel really sorry for the guy because he is innocent!
Look at the video ON A BIG SCREEN from the 10 second mark. He drops a note, which blows forward to where the woman was standing. Rather than chase after it, he waited for the woman to move away, then put his foot on it, and later picked it up.
I watched the video several times, it is clear that it did not fall from his hand which was holding his shopping bag. It is also clear that it fell from her hands when she made the payment to the cashier.

Not sure I would trust being whisked at 160 mile an hour ANYWHERE in Thailand.
Whatever next a Nuclear Power Plant ???
It is travelling a 160km/hr (100mph) not 160 miles per hour. Thailand had an operational Nuclear Reactor on Vipadee Rangsit road since the 1960s and now has a 2MW Nuclear Reactor in Nakorn Nayok for the last 12 years.

My wife did not have to change her name at marriage because the Persons Name Act B.E. 2505 (1962) (amended 2005) has always stated that either spouse may use the last name of the other or continue to use their existing names. We had some hassle from the local land registry who insisted that the law required her to change her name, which is untrue. I took this up with the deputy Prime Minister in 1999 and a directive was issued to stop this practice. Namely the right to buy land law march 23rd 1999. We therefore got married after march 1999 and she did not change her name. There are still some officials including immigration who believe that your wives have to change their name to their foreign husband's name to make it easier for them to spot foreigners attempting to own or buy land.

Don't believe the Brexiter propaganda, they said the pound would recover within 3 weeks of the referendum, now we are down >30% against the Baht. You are hopelessly wrong, the pound will crash even further if we leave the EU and rise if we remain.

The Pound will fall to B30-35 after a hard Brexit crash out and stay around 39-40 id a soft Brexit. It will rise to B50 if we remain. I warned the Brexiteer economic suicide squad here at the time after they voted to leave and the Pound fell 20%. They then told me "don't worry it will climb back up within 3 weeks! Currently I am losing 27% of my pension's values compared to when the Conservatives first announced a referendum.

I entered on a 30 days permission to stay then applied for a retirement VISA. My Visa was issued by Thai Immigration CW and is a proper stand alone VISA stamped type 'O' and headed VISA. I have posted photos several times in the past because of all the arguments that all Visas must be issued out of country. The type O VISA issued by immigration is the only Visa issued in country and is normally for retirement. The Visa gets stamped "USED" within a few minutes of issue and then you are given an extension based on retirement stamp VISA Type: O-RE

They will deduct tax at first and then send you a refund by cheque after the end of the tax year. The following year onwards, you pay no tax on your pension.
