  1. Hi,

I intend to buy IPHONE 5S or samsung S5.

I am located in Bangkok but will soon travel to South Korea and Hong Kong.

    Is sumsung cheaper in Korea?

Is Hong Kong Cheaper for those phones?

I know apple stores have the same prices everywhere

but are there cheaper ways to buy them?

    Thanks for info

  2. Thank you username 99. That helps

CNXBKKMAN, i AM LEAVING Bkk to Korea, then to China, Beijing, going down to Hong Kong, and then take a flight to Europe.

    It's all one way flights.

I already have o/w tickets to Seoul, very cheap ones with airasia.

So I think I might as well take the ferry to China and carry on from there.

    Thank you.

  3. Hi,

I am going to travel to South Korea in August, probably for 10 days and later would like to go to Beijing.

There's the three of us and I find the flights one way to be expensive. $250.

Is there another way to go? by ferry? or a combination of ferry and train?

Suggestions about where to go in Korea will be gladly accepted as well.

  4. Thanks Soutpeel,

So my question is how can I know and check this when in my opinion it's wrong.

Now I have paid already, paid 792 baht for 960 baht. I am sure it included handling charge.

But next time it would be $750, that means $225 customs.

What happens if again they charge unreasonable price?

  5. Hi,

I have ordered leather products for China. It's 2 leather clutch purses done especially for me.

Anyway, the declared cost was $30. When it got here they called me from customs and said I should pay 750 baht for customs and 150 baht for delivery.

Then' a few days later they said i should pay 792 baht, and forgot about the delivery.

My question: how can I find out what is the customs for these kind of products.

Why did i have to pay for delivery and later on it was dismissed. Is it all a nice trial to see how much they could get from a foreigner?

And if so how can I prevent it.

Next delivery of the sort will be of $750.

Thank you for taking the time

  6. THanks MMh8, but I would really would like her to take a few lessons just to be able to pass the test.

I took it myself here and it is a joke, but she had never driven herself a car before.

So I guess 3-4 lessons in a parking lot will do.

  7. you know that old story of how you teach people to swim by throwing them in the white waters of a river. Well there you go, I suggest you take matters into your own hands assuming you did not bribe your way to your drivers license as is known to occur in the us a lot. I was undertaken by a teaching car the other day, and I'm not a slow driver, obviously the instructor was explaining the competitiveness on Thai roads.

More seriously though, give your daughter a quick lesson in physics e.g. how much distance does an object weighing a ton travelling at 80 kph need to bring itself to a stop? you know the sort of thing "common sense " but basically if you happen to be the one tailgating or a large truck is tailgating you there is no way in hell the buggers can stop in time. Other lessons are about bossing the road .

and for Thailand the most important. "they really are out to get you................even if they risk their own, their families and everybody elses life to do so they are out to get you"

and as for passing the test, it is a joke, you might as well put potential drivers in dodgems. Real driving skills , the ones that will save your life are not taught in Thailand. They are often learnt the hard way.

  8. Thank you for the replies.

Somehow my post ran off before I finished writing it, and didn't publish my full question, so here it is:

I am looking for a driving teacher or school since I want her to pass the driving test in Thailand.

We live near Chong Nonsi which is Silom/Shatorn area.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

  9. Hi to everyone,

  10. Hello you people who live in Thailand!

At this point of my life I am very close to desperation.

It's been apprx one year since I've been trying to get shipping rates from both companies above.

The answers I get after calling them are: Someone will get back to you, we only ship express (I know it's not true), would you like to open an account?.

    They usually don't get back.

A few days ago someone did get back to me and asked if I wanted to open an account which I hesitantly answered: I'd love to, as soon as I'll get price quotations.

She did email me, but sent a form to fill out for the purpose of opening an account

Do any of you good souls have a Fedex and/or DHL representative' phone #? so my life could be much easier.

Right now I ship stuff through the post office.

    Thanks a million

    Blossom
