I shop regularly at Macro BKK. Actually a few branches.
When asked about a card I say I don't have.
Never understood why was a card needed.

Fortune Plaza, I bought one there for around 5,900 Baht, with USB facility to connect to computer.
So how is the sound with usb facilities?

Hi,
I am looking to buy a record player and I guess it would have to come with a receiver.
Can anybody let me know where I can get as such?
Thank you

Hi,
My one year Thai driver's license is dated until April 26th.
My question is: do I have to renew it (for a 5 year license) until that date, or can I do it later on?
Also, do I have to do it in the head office in Chatuchak or at my local district?
I had posted it earlier in the Motor section but got no answers. maybe more access to people in here.
Thank you for any information.

Hi,
My driver's license is valid until Apr. 26th and I just heard that it is not important to renew it before expiration date.
That I can actually renew it later on and it would still be valid?
Is this right?
Thanks

Thank you. Sorry I didn't read it thoroughly.
Does it have to be in my specific district or Chatuchak main office?
-
You only need one of these, choose.
I does not matter if you have changed address or not.
1. Residence certificate from Immigrations.
2. Residence certificate from your embassy.
3. Yellow house book.
4. Work permit.
Hi, Thank you for your reply.
I am on a retirement visa but I guess the same applies to me.
Do I first have to obtain the residence certificate from embassy and then show to immigration?
What is yellow house book?
-
I have done some checking and found out I'd have to bring a change of address letter from my embassy.
My next question would be:
I checked and saw there are districts in Bangkok for driver's license.
Do I have to go to my specific district, or the main office in Chatuchak will do?

Hi, I have a 1 yr Thai driver's license and need to renew it by April 26th.
I've gone through the topics in this forum and found out that in case you changed your address, you need to get a letter of approval from emigration.
Is this information correct? and what else do I need to show for that. (I did change address).
I don't have any other driver's license.
Thanks

Hi NHJ,
Thank you so much for your help.
I went there and changed everything possible. That includes formats, location, languages.
Restarted the computer after each action, again comes up again in Thai language.
Any other solution?

In the last couple of day when I enter websites like paypal and filezilla they appear on my computer in Thai language. Firefox has been in Thai for longer then that.
Translation pop ups don't pop here. No way to translate or to hit a button for language change.
Have anybody notice it besides me?

-FF I would leave, asap, and no do not tell her, it is not worth having your children out of your care if you are detained. I bet if she's motivated , such a BOTL notice can be arranged in day or so. The police are open on Songkran But if the kids papers are not in order you have no choice but to wait, leave then though.
Leave quietly,, send her a note of apology, then pay her asap.
Yes that seems to be the way to go.
Just had a good thought, the place needs a good paint, and that will give me a good reason to move stuff around, get rid of broken things etc so I'm at least leaving it in as good shape as I can without raising suspicions.
If nothing else it may reduce the possible damage assessment, and may reinforce her (justified) trust in my intention to pay the debt along with my carefully composed email sent once I'm safely overseas.
I might be having a bad day but Isn't this manipulative?
You got me there.
-
Excuse me funfon for being a little offish but what do you mean by "we have established a good relationship of trust over the years,"
In my humble opinion she was the one who established good relationship with you. You on the other hand were manipulating her for a whole long year telling her all kinds of stories while having money for everything else rather then paying rent.
Doesn't sound "good relationship".to me at all.

In addition, you mentioned that you'd like to know about Thai culture. Take a thai language course and this way you can get an ed visa.

I would suggest that if you are fixated on Thailand, you can rent a hotel room for appx 4000 tb a month, that would include a nice swimming pool, and work your way up look for a job. only after you have found one, look for an apartment in that vicinity. This way you won't find yourself commuting 2 hours*2 every day.
Regarding a car, again, I'd suggest using public transportation or taxi, it's much cheaper than investing in a car, and only after having a job, considering buying a car.
Give yourself a few months, and then you'll know how you feel about it all,

Hi there,
I live in BKK and make leather handbags and belts. I've been selling them to some shops abroad but would like at the same time to use the market here and expand. I don't have a clue to how to do it. Was looking at the internet and found some big trade shows which I will inquire. But also would like to sell in smaller places like hotels and similar.
Does anybody know about exhibitions or events of the sort?
I know this is Bangkok It's a whole big market, right?
But I mean places where faranges are around and shopping.
So, I would appreciate any idea.
Thanks a million

Hello blossombkk
Yesterday we saw a Dr. Martens shop at MegaBagna Shopping mall (on the way to Ikea-not too far from Ikea). And I remebered your thread: The prices were high THB 5'000.-- up, but they also had a few models for sale.
Hope this helps (attached pics from the shop).

Prince, thank you so much for taking pictures. So nice of you.
We might be in that neighborhood next week so might as well check it out.

Thank you all for the input. Actually I'm looking to buy them for my teenage daughter. She is looking for "1460 worn broken in boots". Those are leather boots. We were looking at central world and similar places but they only had other kinds, the pvc or something, and they were 6,500 tb. others were even 12,000tb. Funny thing is they are made in Thailand and China. Not anymore in the UK.
As I said in my OP, the price for the above mentioned boots on the dr martens website was 130$ but they do not appear on the site now.
Thanks again

Try http://www.bookdepository.com/
It's an online bookstore in England and there's no delivery charge.

Went in koh samet last weekend. Beautiful island, I liked it more then koh chang and koh samoui. Those are the only island i've been too.
The beaches in koh samet are beautiful, there are many little bays, so you can swim and the children can go into the water. In the evening there are numerous restaurants on the beach front. Although there were many tourists we didn't feel the crowd, plenty of space for everybody.

Hi,
I'd like to buy Dr. Martens boots here in BKK.
Entered their website and the price in Thailand is 6500 tb. The price in the us is $120.
I know that in recent years they are made in Thailand so the difference looks odd.
Does anybody know if this is the price range in stores and is there an outlet where you can buy them cheaper?
