  1. Before replying I just checked my facts with Google. Google suggested my own reply to the same question on another forum!
  2. PEA Surin have yet to open any chargers in the province, despite many promises. When they do, I will register for an account and try it out on a local trip. Crazy Ghost, thanks for the reminder. I will pop in chase them up when I get back.
  3. Currently on a trip out of province. Staying at a resort in Sisaket tonight. Stopped at a PTT station to try out their EV Station Plus. I have described the changing options in a post above. The charger was clearly off with no lights on. Called customer support (no wait to be connected) 2 minutes later PTT staff came out and switched it on at the external power box. ฿4.5/kWh - cheaper than PEA. Paid with my debit card on the app. I used plug share to look for chargers on the route and posted a comment about my experience on the app. I didn’t have to change from the fastest Google maps route to get to my destination. Sat in Amazon coffee aircon with a brownie and a drink while we charged
  4. Sorry didn't watch the video. "Auto Expert" is an EV hater and his vids are thrown up as evidence.
  5. The concern with a PHEV is that the ICE engine may not be used for long periods of time. Generally, the higher the ethanol content the shorter the shelf life of the fuel. So a lower ethanol content like 95 is recommended rather than E20
  6. Notification from BYD RÊVER Thailand the reseller for BYD
  7. @Gweiloman Unfortunately not available. The BYD Seal is my choice
  8. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-09-08/china-s-byd-signs-land-deal-to-build-first-ev-plant-in-thailand The plant is expected to start operation in 2024 and have annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles, mostly for export to Southeast Asia and Europe The site covers 96 hectares (237 acres) “More EV supply chain will follow BYD here,” BYD plans to invest 30 billion baht in production of electric vehicles. BYD, backed by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc., is among the latest companies to take advantage of the Thai government’s tax incentives, a key part of a plan to make Thailand the EV production hub of Southeast Asia. The Thai government earlier this year allocated about 43 billion baht through 2025 to promote the use of EVs as part of the effort.
  9. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/thailands-wha-chinas-byd-announce-plans-ev-plant-thailand-2022-09-06/ WHA Group, the Thai industrial estate developer, said on Tuesday that it and China's BYD are set to announce plans for an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Thailand. The two companies will hold a joint news conference on plans for an EV facility in an industrial estate in Rayong on Thursday, BYD expects to start selling EVs in Thailand later this year
  10. A bit more detail on this story from teslarati https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-thailand-job-openings/
  11. Tesla are hiring in Thailand https://www.tesla.com/careers/search/?site=TH
  12. I purchased it at a renewable technology expo at Ruangsangthai Buriram
  13. No additional insulation required? no No temperature loss from tank to outlets in the bathroom(s)? No So apart from the immersion heater you don't have any demand electric water heaters? - No - two showers a double bath and three sinks How far away are the outlets? The solar thermal is directly behind me in this photo. First door is the mechanical where I have pumps and filters. Second door is a bathroom with an ensuite behind it. The windows at the end are the kitchen. Due to expansion of the water as it rises in temperature it is under pressure and the system has a pressure release valve. It is topped up with cold water by a demand pump.
  14. I have had solar thermal for 4 years now. It has a 200L insulated tank and as water is heated in the panels it rises and enters the top of the tank, pushing the coldest water back down into the panels to be reheated. The system feeds 2 bathrooms and the the kitchen sink. There is also an immersion heater which can be set to come on a different times of the day and when the water reaches a predetermined temperature. It is currently not connected as the water is still scolding hot in the morning. Quote from my blog so figures might be a little out of date: "In Thailand electric water heaters are normally located in the room where the water is being used, normally under the sink. Assume the water heaters are 5kw and and three water heaters in total are run for 30 minutes a day = 2.5Kwh/day @ ฿4/kWh = ฿10/day = ฿3,650/year (adjust parameters to match your personal circumstances) I paid ฿30,000 for my solar thermal unit compared to 3 electric water heaters at say ฿6,000 each = ฿18,000 – ฿30,000 = ฿12,000 /฿3,650 in saved electricity per year = 3.28 years to payback. As it has no moving parts it should last for several more years to come. I am happy with my investment and enjoy as much hot water as I like knowing it’s all free. "
  15. Changes I can make: - change loads. If I'm charging my EV I might decide to leave the car at 50% state of charge and try again tomorrow. - Increase power input : I have 3 sources of power:- Solar PV; Feed in from my backup solar system and PEA. So today am running my backup solar system down to 50% and will switch over to PEA as my standby backup overnight.
  16. I get accurate information on the condition of the batteries on my phone and on a day like today when it has been raining all day that it very helpful
  17. EV Station PluZ on-peak TOU rate from 9am to 10pm will be 7.5 baht per unit of power while the off-peak rate from 10pm to 9am will be 4.5 baht. The off-peak rate will extend for 24 hours during weekends and government holidays, EV Station Pluz announced. To book charging time at a PTT EV station, motorists must download the EV Station PluZ app. Each booking costs 20 baht but this fee is returned as a discount if motorists use the service within 10 minutes of booking. PTT currently has about 190 EV stations across the country but this will be expanded to 450 by the end of the year. https://www.nationthailand.com/business/40017322
  18. You are replying to a very old post, so maybe better to ask the questions you want answers to. Most EVs in Thailand come with a free wall charger. You can apply for a second meter with cheap overnight rate (TOU)
  19. nRuit and Growatt are designed to work together. The Growatts manage the batteries and I can monitor their status though the Growatt app. The video below was filmed during the testing and debugging phase just after installation and it will give you a better idea of the nRuit and Growatt interface I apologise in advance for possibly the most boring video on YouTube
  20. Here in Surin not only do we have EAA chargers at Robinson, MG chargers at the MG dealer. I have been told that Great Wall will be installing a charger at their dealer here. PEA told me that a EV charger is coming to their main office soon. Yesterday I stopped at my local PTT for a visit to 7-11 and I noticed a brand new PTT EV charger Charging speed: I downloaded the app and signed up for an account. You can pay by debit or credit card.
  21. Unfortunately we have no information yet about launch dates. The Reseller has only just been announced last week. I believe the BYD Seal (Atto 4) will be coming to Thailand, although they will probably start with the Atto 3 as in Oz
  22. I am bored answering questions that have asked and answered several times before and reading all the complaining Ignored!
  23. We have also discussed EVs in Condos several times. There is condo charging in Europe and the USA. I own condos in the UK and will be installing EV charging when I get a rental void. The UK is now offering a £300 grant for landlords to install charging for tenants. Thailand is about 5 years behind where Europe is with regard to EVs. Overnight 3 and 7kW charging (destination charging) will become more common here as they are in Europe. Condo charging is not yet a thing in Thailand, but if it can be done elsewhere, then it can be done here, once there is demand for it. If the condo building can make money selling electricity at a premium to EV owners, then it will happen. Installing a power outlets with RFID controlled access and back office recharging software would be the way to go.
  24. I am signed into my account on PlugShare, so now sure how this map will appear for people without an account. Try clicking ignore to all pop up request to sign up for an account https://www.plugshare.com/location/119530
