Was this an organised event? , the reason I ask is because the normal triathlon/ironman schedule is swim/T1/bike/T2/run , also the distances are kind of hybrid between tri and ironman , longer than tri , but shorter than ironman , perhaps a private or group training for an upcoming ironman..

My first full marathon was Khon Kaen , Jan. 2011 , I was 58 years old at the time and my body said the same thing,. but my head over-ruled it and I signed up for 4 more that year namely Rome , Paris , Edinburgh and Singapore and also the Great North Run , as they say "there's no fool like an old fool". Still running marathons at 72 , planning on doing Sydney , Cape Town and Beijing next...🏃‍♂️

Interesting , As I understand all NI numbers end with the letters A , B , C , D , or E corresponding to the working days of the week , Mon , Tues ,Wed , Thur , Fri. My NI is ends with letter C , therefore I get paid on Wednesday. But my last 2 numerical digits also fall within the range of 40~59 which also comply with what you have said.
