  1. It's worthy of note that the guy who drove 2 tons of steel with seat belts walked away. The scooter drivers? Nope. If you can afford 2 tons of steel and seat belts, seems like that's a lot safer. Regardless of your ninja like riding skill level.
  2. It's obvously implicit in what you wrote. For instance "ban combustible engines". What authorities have proposed banning combustion engines in the short run? Or "no more ships transporting goods around the world." Over time, these modes of transportation can be replaced. But to state it baldly without qualifications as you do is just ridiculous. You're either responding to someone else's posts, or you're yelling at a cloud going by. Either way, I did not mention combustion engines or ships in this thread.
  3. Here's a thought. Why don't you post a link to where I said that? And just respond to what I say, and not what you wish I said.
  4. That's why, between 2016 and 2019-1/2, every MSM, along with PBS and NPR had articles about how vulnerable the machines are. They went strangely quiet after 2020... But even CNN in 2023 admits the machines haven't been secured. Nothing's changed, except the narrative.
  5. I understand it just fine. I just don't agree. More accurately, I'm not convinced. Not enough that I'm willing to pay more than I need to eat, stay warm, get around and download stuff. On an aside, I'm with the folks that think the past 100 years may be a recovery from the volcanic winter from Krakatoa. There are historic precedents. Not to mention, all that plant food in the atmosphere isn't all bad.
  6. Hey, it's expensive to (allegedly) fly in half a studio audience of firm supporters from all over the country to pretend they're undecided, and fill the other half of the studio with compliant hired extras. Tracey noted that during the event, he observed “two segments” of the audience, one of which consisted of people asking questions who were allegedly flown in by the network from out of state. The independent journalist then continued to highlight how the second “segment” of Harris’ audience were seat fillers allegedly outsourced by a casting company called FansOnQ. https://dailycaller.com/2024/10/11/harris-townhall-undecided-voters-allegedly-dems-univision/ Edit: Added the "allegedly"
  7. Is anyone else wondering what caused all those peaks and valleys in the millions of years before we had cars? Climate change is real. It's been going on for billions of years. Decimating the economy, or taking money from me and giving it to someone else isn't going to stop it. Neither are windmills, solar panels or EVs crammed down our throats. Good on Cap'n Ron.
  8. 1) That you refer to it as a "fine" means it's futile to even discuss the lawsuit with you. 2) Here's a guy that bought one off EBay, and the state didn't even notice it was missing until he reported it to them. How many more are missing and being analyzed by people who want to alter the results? https://www.npr.org/2022/09/08/1121682138/a-hacker-bought-a-voting-machine-on-ebay-michigan-officials-are-now-investigatin 3) Every year, the DEFCON hackers in Las Vegas are able to break into the machines, on the spot. They did it again this year. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/08/12/hackers-vulnerabilities-voting-machines-elections-00173668
  9. Doesn't seem to be getting any better: The nation’s best hackers found vulnerabilities in voting machines — but no time to fix them https://www.politico.com/news/2024/08/12/hackers-vulnerabilities-voting-machines-elections-00173668 Note the date... 2024 in Lost Wages. There were dozens of articles after the 2016 election, and even more after the 2018 midterms where just about every MSM and their brother and cousin warned of voting machine insecurity. But after 2020 (and the results they wanted) the only acceptable description that wasn't demoted, banned, cancelled or ridiculed was "The most secure election in history". Ask Zuck. He apologized for it. 4 years too late, but better late than never. Not a mystery why so many people don't trust the MSM any more. Then 60 Minutes pulls their bonehead stunt. They can't even get their versions right. The preview shows one answer, and the broadcast showed a different answer.
  10. Then, a few months later, in a Georgia courtroom, someone hacked one of the machines with a BIC pen and a $10 USB chip. I keep expecting Fox to ask for their money back, but I'm sure their confidential settlement agreement doesn't allow that. https://www.ajc.com/politics/witness-shows-how-to-tamper-with-georgia-elections-in-security-trial/WUVKCYNV3ZGOVNB6X6TDX2GEFQ/ https://atlantaciviccircle.org/2024/01/25/state-doesnt-understand-the-technology-plaintiffs-rest-their-case-in-trial-over-georgias-voting-machines/ Even CNN says the software is vulnerable: https://edition.cnn.com/2023/06/14/politics/dominion-voting-georgia-vulnerabilities-2024/index.html So, no. That wasn't fake news from Fox. It was yet another spoiler alert.
  11. Thailand would be paradise on earth if it wasn't for the silly brown people. And the smelly tourists from those other countries.
  12. Does anyone care? I don't. They all fib during an election.
  13. And they wonder why people believe in conspiracy theories.
  14. The OP is short on details. If you're applying for $5 million of life insurance for someone making 300 baht a day... Of course that's an exaggeration, but the gist is there. I'd also be open to the possibility that there are other factors that the nice lady wouldn't want to reveal to the foreign boyfriend. But that's my mind wandering, and I'm not inclined to speculate.
  15. The EC itself isn't the problem. It's the states (most of them) that have decided it's "winner take all". The EC was the only way through when it took weeks for the votes to come in from across the country. Now... Not so necessary. But even if they change the rules (as long as the rules are fair), it'll change the way the campaigns are conducted, but probably not the results. Admittedly, it will appear more fair.
  16. I’ll use up some more bandwidth. I have huge respect for rank and file members of the military. I have zero love for our fidiot leaders who treat illegals better than our own kids in uniform. The ones that are pushing DEI instead of competence. The ones that are sending our kids on fools’ errands without the resources they need. The ones who tolerate horrible living conditions across military bases. The ones that abandon them when they get back, damaged by what we asked them to do for us. Resulting in recruitment shortfalls, inhumane military housing, no support for struggling vets, and on… and on…
  17. We've all known (and most of us have worked with) people in our careers that were great at getting jobs, but sucked at actually doing them.
  18. So they were using chips to keep score and there wasn't a significant amount of money found? I wonder if they found the money in their wallets, or set aside to pay the dealer, the food server and the Grab delivery guy? Sounds like the only crime was having too many decks of cards. Book 'em DanO.
  19. There are a lot of people who would gladly forego social security in favor of a self-directed investment. Remember that SS takes 15% of your pay for your entire career (with limits if you make a bundle). Disciplined investors could do a lot better in the market if they invested that 15% themselves. The key word there being "disciplined". He won't take SS away from anyone who has contributed. That's a different bucket from income taxes.
  20. Here's one of my favorite memes:
  21. Here, I'll correlate it for you. In 1960, here's the list of childhood vaccinations: Diptheria Pertussis Tetanus Polio Smallpox https://vaxopedia.org/2019/03/26/how-many-vaccines-did-kids-get-in-the-1960s/ In 2020, here's the list of childhood vaccinations: Diptheria Pertussis Tetanus Polio Smallpox Hepatitus B Rotavirus Haemophilus Influenza Type B Pneumomococcal Conjugate Influenza Measles, Mumps, Rubella Vericella Hepatitis A https://www.mayoclinicproceedings.org/article/S0025-6196(20)30601-7/fulltext During the same time period, autism rates have increased from less than 1 in 150 to 1 in 36. https://www.cdc.gov/autism/data-research/index.html Until they do figure out what's causing the increase in autism, how can they rule out vaccinations? They can't. I'm not claiming it's the vaccinations. I don't know. I suspect it may be dietary, or some other environmental or industrial chemical causing it. The science is far from settled, until they do find the culprit. Ruling out vaccinations reminds me of my experience when I went to the ER the day after my 2nd Pfizer and the doctor told me they didn't know what caused my symptoms, but it wasn't the Pfizer. Over 2 years later, the ER staff (another visit) finally told me that my symptoms were a commonly reported side effect. Of the Pfizer. So I can understand why people don't trust them.
  22. Then they edited her response so she wouldn't look as bad. A courtesy they wouldn't have extended to the Bad Orange Man.
  23. You mean the same "top of their game" people who got us into Vietnam and Iraq, got us out of Afghanistan so catastrophically, keep claiming the border is secure, have us $35 trillion in debt, focus more on equity than saving lives, and on... and on...? Those disgruntled ex-employees? Good riddance. They're the reason those DMV employees can keep their jobs, while being incompetent, unproductive, and rude.
