He didn't call for an impeachment. He called for an impeachment inquiry. To get subpoena power to demand evidence the Biden team is refusing to release. BTW, he broke precedent by starting the inquiry before the vote. Except he wasn't the first to break precedent. That was Ms Pelosi. Funny how they don't like it when the other side does it... Maybe she shouldn't have opened Pandora's box. Sadly, I'm forecasting politics by impeachment for the foreseeable future, On both sides.

I got stopped at BKK last week!!
impulse replied to Katmanzu's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Update... Came in today at around 5:00 PM and there was no line at all at immigration. Walked up to one of about 6 officers with nobody being checked. Took all of 1 minute (visa exempt). Sadly, that just revealed how slow they are getting the bags on the carousel. Still took 45 minutes to an hour to get out of the airport. Kinda scary for TAT, especially after seeing row upon row of Thai Airways 747's and A380s parked like they hadn't moved n a loooong time. The 737-800 I was on (from Xiamen) was full. Booked my next RT between North China and BKK for $258, so good luck to Thai Airways making money by adding flights to China. Edit: That's about half of what it cost pre-Covid. Shameless plug- If you gotta fly Xiamen air, they're really okay. Not as nice as one of the Middle East airlines, but nicer than most US and Canadian airlines. -
Don't forget the ones on Pornhub. And the "influencers" doing travel videos. May not pay well, but there are perks. If the OP is interested in moving to and working from Thailand, I suggest he look into the requirements for getting the requisite visa and a work permit. Also look into the companies that offer shared work space and handle the formalities for staying legal while employed (for a fee). It's more complex than it looks, unless you want to stay under the radar. Look into the risks and costs of staying under the radar, too. But those are topics covered by hundreds of threads with thousands of (often conflicting) posts. For that, the search function is your friend.

I hate to ask this, because it shouldn't matter (but it does...) How were you dressed? Edit: Also, what's your nationality? Tomorrow, I'm flying in for my 5th or 6th exempt entry this year. We'll see how it goes... Hopefully okay because I can never stay more than a week. -
Silent film chaos: Man attacks transwomen at mall theater for shushing
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The ones that get me are those that buy those stanky dill pickles and pollute 5 rows front and back of them. I rarely went to the movies in Thailand, so I don't know what stinks them up... -
My fear (and I freely admit this is a wingnut conspiracy thing) is that they'll eventually require all cars, EV and ICE, to have smart odometers that phone home and tell not only how many km they've traveled, but where they are- using GPS tech. In realtime, recording forever where we've been. They'll hide it at first, then announce it as a data gathering thing to improve safety and efficiency. (It's actually already happening, like NorthStar) But eventually, it'll be used to send you a bill for driving in specific areas and/or at specific times. If they do it right, they'll even tap into your associated CBDC account and won't even need to bill you. And if you piss "them" off, or violate some kind of parameter, your car will be bricked for awhile. Edit: And they won't need speed traps any more. Your own car will rat you out. Scary...

A Thai man physically assaulted two transwomen. First sentence... -
Man, I commiserate. I had the same issue quite a few years back when they upgraded the service available at my apartment. But getting upset after just a week is going to make Thailand a difficult place to live. That doesn't excuse it. But my life got a whole lot less stressful when I decided that local time is just different, and a price I pay for all the offsetting benefits.

I'd give you even odds between murdered, faked his death and he's on the lam, and the reported suicide. -
Bad Biden polls stoke third-party angst for Democrats
impulse replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Soundly? If Covid restrictions hadn't driven unprecedented changes in the way votes were collected, Trump would have won 2020. Easily. Repubs tend to vote on the day. Dems tend to vote by mail (if the option's available). I absolutely agree in the sorry state of politics when either one of those guys were the best the USA were allowed to vote for. -

I'm still curious how many bullets they found. Every once in awhile things aren't exactly as reported... -
One of the advantages of being 50, 80 and 100 years away from previous wars is we get to see the unclassified documents that reveal how much lying went on to goad the various parties to take up arms. Thanks, but I'll wait until the guy's alleged claim is vetted through a lot more filters. So far, Putin has done nothing more than he said he would. (Other than the stupid push toward Kiev, counting on Zelensky to cr@p his pants and flee to one of his mansions abroad. He did judge that one wrong, but I don't think he ever planned to stay in Kiev.)

Hard-line House Republicans itching for shutdown, impeachment fights
impulse replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Just couldn't resist making it personal, huh? So you're admitting that they were commingling funds? Which makes Joe a willing beneficiary of what Hunter was doing? A few grand for upkeep hardly comports with the claim of "half". Maybe it's nothing. But it's certainly piqued my curiosity. How did they 'splain away the other known shell companies and the funds sent to the grandkids? Bottom line, if there's nothing to hide, why is the Biden team so intent on hiding it? Enquiring minds want to know. Lefties, probably not so much. -
Biden saved from embarrassment, well, more if continued

Cringy Pierre must have had a cow when he started talking about the 3rd world... No telling what was coming out next. RT may be owned and operated by Russia, but they bring the receipts. Pay no attention to their commentary, if it bothers you. But look at the data points. -

But what pushed them off the left? I think Bill Maher (no fan of Trump) nailed the Trump phenomena: They see him as the one thing that stands between them and something even crazier. And there is a lot of crazy on the left. -
I think the guy was a serial boat builder, and he wasn't building his first one. But I never heard what happened to him. It wouldn't surprise me if you technically need a WP to write a book to be sold. It would gobsmack me if anyone actually got caught and punished for writing a book without a WP. But I've seen weirder.

I have no insight into the "context" You don't either, except what the MSM is spoon feeding you. Those are facts that should be investigated. The "dots" if you will. Hence, the need for an impeachment inquiry. To either connect those dots (and they are many), or to clear Biden's name. -

You can reasonably say the evidence on the laptop is unconvincing, or that it's not conclusive. But to claim that there is none is patently false. Just one example: Hunter's e-mail to his sister complaining about having to give half his earnings to Pop. If Hunter was getting dirty money by selling access to Pop, that incriminates Pop. It may not be convincing. May not even be true. But it is evidence, nonetheless. The pictures of nekkid hookers, crack smoking and other Hunter foibles don't interest me at all. But they may have interested millions of voters in 2020. -
You may recall that the EUA (and procurement contracts) gave Pfizer immunity from lawsuits. When the vaccine was fully approved, Pfizer kept selling it under the EUA instead of selling it as Comirnaty, which would have had a normal drug's liability exposure. So though it's the same stuff, there was a huge legal difference. I followed it for awhile, but don't have current info regarding what's being marketed. Lost interest after I was vaccine injured by my 2nd Pfizer jab. They'd have to hold a gun to my head to get me to take a booster..
