  1. Now that the thread has died down, how about a fun wingnut conspiracy? Elon Musk threw his endorsement to Trump right after the shooting. A few days later, the IT company that was heavily involved in the Russian Collusion hoax suffers what's being called history's largest outage, that could result in so many lawsuits they may not survive. The facts are true. But are they connected? Discuss...
  2. Good post. Honestly. That gives us something to discuss, even if I disagree. I'ma ponder that, and maybe reply. In case I don't get around to it, I wanted you to know I appreciate your response. Unlike a lot of them on here.
  3. While I'm pleased that they are going to prison, I question the wisdom of taking up bedspace for 4-5 years when there are so many truly violent criminals that are probably given lighter sentences (or even being released early) for lack of prison resources. Not to mention the cost, at what? Maybe 50,000 GBP per annum for each? I think a year or so would be plenty of time-out for them to think about the consequences of their actions. (Out of curiosity, do British inmates work on the inside or otherwise pay to defray the cost of housing them? Curious because I don't know the UK system)
  4. If I was a small retail shop or diner and Biden withdrew without endorsing Kamala, I'd be buying a lot of plywood for the windows. There's gonna be a run on it.
  5. It wasn't an MS outage. It was a Crowdstrike outage. We'll never know the whole truth, but that does paint it in a different light.
  6. So, what was it about his first term that you didn't like? C'mon. Use your words.
  7. I'm wondering where the idea is coming from that they won't be scrutinizing land border bounces like they do airside border bounces? Just because they eliminated the limit of 2, doesn't mean you can live in Thailand on exempt, any more than those why fly in and out today. I think it'll be awhile before we know how the new rules will be implemented. Personally, I'd like to see them go back to pre-coup when guys could actually live in Thailand on border bounces and perpetual ED visas. Maybe with a fine for overstay that doesn't cap out at 20K, but no blacklist if you pay the whole fine. I don't think the guys we lost when those loopholes slammed shut were any dodgier than many of the guys that are still in Thailand on whatever visa programs they're currently using.
  8. I hadn't even considered the implications for those who have to show monthly incoming money just to stay visa-legal. Wouldn't it be a kick in the nuts to get knocked back at your next extension for missing a month, no fault of your own?
  9. If there actually was a special prosecutor assigned for the case of a civilian on a plain vanilla firearm charge, my first question would be "why?". But if that's true, set aside the results (without prejudice) and try him again. Seems only fair. Bankrupt him some more, why don'tcha? Or you can wait for his Dad to get clear of this election thing and pardon him. Seems like that would save everyone a bunch of money. Personally, I care little about this case, because it's a distraction and delay tactic from the cases of financial shenanigans that may surface evidence that connects the sitting President. Those are the big wadiddlies. This case is small potatoes.
  10. You mean like when Biden claimed he was proud to be the first female black VP? That's not a very convincing litmus test.
  11. Look up Crowdstrike's recent history on any wing nut conspiracy website and you'll understand why MS may not be to blame. Or maybe they are... Early days.
  12. Here's a dangerous thought. Why don't we let the voters decide who's the threat? To the Dem elite, that's sacrilege. Letting the voters decide...
  13. I was thinking more along the lines of the Presidential Commission on Increasing Equity in Pan American Turd Polishing. Which, if it did exist, would have a budget of $ millions and a very diverse staff of thousands, all with piercings in exactly the same body parts.
  14. Based on the rants on this thread alone, I suspect he's confused between studying abnormal psychology and being the subject of the study.
  15. The big difference between Trump's and Biden's condition is that Trump is what he is. There has been no coverup or attempt to hide it. Biden's condition has been hidden and lied about for years, by the MSM and the Dem elite. I'd like to see the Dems lose the Senate and the White House, if only to tell them they can't ever do that again. You can't lie to the public for years (and persecute your opposition) and get away with it. You will be held accountable, at the battle ballot box where it should be decided.
  16. Or perhaps violent residents are causing high levels of unemployment? That's happening in Blue cities around the USA, where businesses are leaving due to high crime, leaving the residents without jobs or services. I'll bet the businesses and the jobs would come back if crime went down.
  17. Which serves a double purpose. Since they're NGO's, the jobs are listed as private sector, despite the fact that they're performing a gub'ment function, paid for by tax money. Another way they nefariously skew the reported job numbers.
  18. Vivek talked about that quite a bit during his primary run. Civil service laws protect workers from being singled out, but that doesn't help them if entire agencies get cancelled.
  19. The Repubs will get at least one more boost when Chicago is in flames from the Mostly Peaceful protests of various lefty factions during the DNC Convention. Unless, of course, they succeed in destroying yet another democratic (small d) tradition, doing it by Zoom to avoid the embarrassment. Or, just as likely, if they can keep unfriendly press away from the war zone mostly peaceful protests. Shouldn't be hard, since most of the MSM carries water for the Dems.
  20. His feint toward Kiev was an attempt to end the war quickly by convincing Zelensky to take his money and flee to one of his mansions around the world. It would have worked if the US and then BoJo hadn't convinced Zelensky to stay and fight, to the last Ukrainian.
  21. That one is too easy... I'll let someone else have it...
  22. So is the Deep State: Government workers are reportedly in a state of panic over the prospect of former President Donald Trump winning another term in office, Bureaucrats up and down the federal hierarchy are concerned that a second Trump administration could cost them their jobs and put an end to liberal programs they worked to implement under President Joe Biden, https://dailycaller.com/2024/07/18/really-really-difficult-bureaucrats-worry-behind-closed-doors-theyll-be-sent-packing-under-trump/
  23. You realize that it's not just about Powell. It's about the collective they refer to as the Borg Fed. The Fed gave Obama 8 great years of free money. Then they started raising rates when Trump got in. Of course Trump pushed back, and rightfully so.
  24. The ones that bug me are those that glom onto me when I walk through the door and don't leave my side as I'm browsing. Happens more in higher end stores and IT shops. I can take that for about 2 minutes then I'm outa there. Sometimes, I just want to browse. Sometimes, I know exactly what I'm looking for but I don't know the Thai name, so I shrug and browse. And I rarely ask for a product because of the OP's phenomena. They'll say "finish" and I hate to risk making them lose face by finding it on my own, which happens so often.
