Trump Vows to Slash Drug Prices with New Executive Order
impulse replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Not if it's done properly. More accurately, no riskier than the US supply chains, who have them made overseas anyway. Then they sell the same Indian or Chinese made medicines at one price in Europe and a much higher price in the US. -

True, but fake blue pills aren't the topic of discussion here. -

Then we (Americans) should be allowed to order it from a different country where they sell the same medicine at a much lower price. -

He just signed it. The ink's not even dry and the lefty idiots are already claiming it hasn't resulted in significant savings. -

Political genius. He'll sign the EO, the courts will stop him again, and he scores. It'll also re-open the discussion of the "Most Favorable Nation" concept, which is long overdue. Americans should be allowed to order our prescriptions from overseas if Big Pharma wants to keep gouging us in the USA. At the very least, gub'ment paid prescriptions should be sources from the least expensive source, even if that's not in the USA. -
I get what you're saying, but let me respond with 2 comments. 1) I find it very difficult to negotiate with someone that doesn't speak the same language without getting adversarial and perhaps causing resentment. And I don't want my driver to be in a pissed off mood, especially at me. I'd rather have a happy driver. They seem to drive saner. 2) If foreigners weren't known for tipping, we'd probably rarely get picked up on the side of the road. Edit: I can't tell you the number of times I've been refused on the side of the road because the driver wanted to find a longer drive, until I sweetened the pot. Sadly for those that don't have it, money talks. And as an individual, I can't do anything about that reality.

Personally, I think a 6 month warranty is adequate. It covers factory defects. Past 6 month, it's "wear and tear". Which is not really a warranty as much as an extended service contract, for which I'm probably paying more. And under which my "warranty" claim is probably going to be denied anyway, because the failure was due to wear and tear. Especially on electric tools. Still, I remember wailing on my Craftsman screwdrivers with a hammer, then tossing them into a pile to take back to Sears every 6 months or so to get new ones. Those were the good old days.

Reduced battery life of phone brought to thailand
impulse replied to hotsun's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
If it's a model available in Thailand, have the battery replaced. One of the great things about Thailand is how cheap and easy it is to get someone to crack open a smartphone, tablet or laptop and do repairs and battery replacements. Even if it's not a model available in Thailand, they may have a battery for it. One of my problems is that I sweat so much that sweaty pocket lint gets into my Micro or USB-C socket and corrodes the terminals. In the USA, that's end of life because it's too expensive to crack them open. In Thailand, eezy peezy. And cheap. If your new battery drains quickly, check the battery settings to see what apps are draining it. May be some apps related to location in Thailand. Are you using Grindr more here in LOS? -
No one is above the law even New Jersey politicians.

There's a great piece on MSNBC (Morning Joe, of all places) where Danny Cevallos breaks down just how much "due process" illegals are entitled to. Spoiler alert: It's generally less than the lefties think, and it's by law passed by congress. I found it on an "unapproved source", but it's available on MSDNC Morning Joe. It's apparently blocked here in China. But I'm sure you can find it. Here's a quote: “Just because it isn’t used very often doesn’t mean it’s not a part of federal law that can be used, and it will be used because it’s permitted under federal law,” Cevallos urged. He continued, “The Congress, in its infinite wisdom, decided that aliens who arrive at the border — and they define people who arrive at the border within two years — if they don’t have documents, if they have insufficient documents, they can be removed in an expedited fashion unless they seek asylum.” -
Or the OP can opt for a TV instead of a dedicated monitor. That's what I'm typing this on. It's a 40" Full HD, probably 10 years old, and cost less than a dedicated monitor 2 sizes down. It's got the video playing capabilities baked into the sauce. No box required. Just plug in a USB chip with video files on it. This particular TCL has 3 HDMI inputs and several USB inputs. I would note that my dedicated monitors only have passthrough USB ports. They don't play videos. They just allow me to plug into a PC USB port and run more than one USB device on the PC. The only reason I bought them is because they came with the cheap 2nd hand servers I bought. Of course, YMMV depending on the brand and vintage.

He had insurance but they wont pay out due to his reckless actions. Read somewhere he went into a roped off area Therein lies the rub. I've made about half a dozen minor claims on travel insurance policies in 25 years of international travel. None of them has been approved because of the fine print, usually around page 42 of the long form policy. So I have absolutely no confidence that they'd approve a whopper of a claim.
