  1. You do you boo. Don't think anyone else here needs any of that. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  2. I'm from a time when there were only two strains: Sense and Mersh, but most people won't know what those references means. So let's call it "good weed" and "sh*t weed". It either got you high or it didn't. However, most millennials and all Gen Z are from a new era where you actually have a choice of names, colors, flavors, and can buy just pure, high-THC-percentage flowers. They don't realize how blessed they are. Back in the day there were very few flowers. Mostly leaves, twigs, and seeds and often you didn't get to see what you're buying until you already passed your money through a slot in a door. And then 2% THC was the average. Anyone who lived through that era is over the moon with what's available now and will be delighted with any of the Grade-A weed that's out there on offer. Call it Gorilla Glue, Cryptonite, OG Kush, Godfather, Runtz, Diesel, Gelato, Snoop Dog, or anything you like, it's all "green with orange hairs flower bliss" to me.
  3. looks like someone steeped on a big pile of Soi-Dog-Revenge. The bigger question is what year is that Thai coin from?
  4. We laugh, but BW is still heavily consumed throughout Thailand. I don't know why any grower would commit their resources to growing it though when they can grow high quality stuff and sell it for 10X the price. Presumably the growers of BW are just throwing seeds in the ground in an open area and are not putting any effort into cultivation. But at 3-4 Baht a gram, it's hard not to understand why people with less financial resources are still happy to smoke it. 25 years ago you could find it sold in local fresh markets in Thailand, Cambodia, and possibly elsewhere. It was also often added as an herb to noodle soup broths.
  5. Still enjoy that cow-dung stuff? 😂
  6. TFB, KBANK, same thing. Some local systems still use the old 3 letter code. Your post was still unnecessary and the previous post was still not wrong.
  7. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Not wrong, that’s what the post already said. BBL, SCB, and TFB are the local banking codes for those 3 banks. The school of redundancy redundancy.
  8. Yeah, that eighties brick weed. Never even needed a grinder. You just squeezed it in your fingers and it turned right to powder. Never had to worry about the THC rubbing off on your fingers either because there wasn’t much of it to begin with. Not really any resin either. The biggest danger were the sharp twigs in the weed piercing your skin if you squeezed them too hard. Can’t say I miss those days.
  9. The Thai spirits ads from the nineties were so much fun:
  10. You mentioned imported weed from America. Some of it might have been imported in 2022 when it was first legalized and local growers couldn't keep up with demand yet. But so much is grown here now that I doubt any of it is imported anymore, nor has been for the last 8-12 months. Many shops do have the words "Import From USA" in some of their signage and graphics, but if anything the seeds are imported and the plants are all grown here. A lot of local growers have gone to weed conventions in the USA and have learned a lot of the proper growing techniques from over there. Now mostly everything is grown here in small, air-conditioned green houses using good quality seeds and proper techniques.
  11. Xmax (US brand made in China) makes some of the best portable dry herb vapes, and for very reasonable prices in Thailand. Many of their models are also designed with replaceable/removable batteries. Their Starry 4.0 model is a nice form factor and good value for money. Around 3,000 Baht at the moment I think. Also has an adjustable air intake valve. And it heats via a combination of convection and conduction for a more even bake. Most others are just conduction. This model can also be used with dosing capsules, which is handy. Most of the buds sold in Thailand in the 200-400 Baht price range usually have good levels of terpenes and THC. In my view they all have at least 20%-23%. If they claim it has 26% or 30%, and it really only has 22%, I think it matters little. Anything above 20% is still 10X the THC levels of the brick weed from the eighties. I would ignore the strain names though that any of the vendors provide. Presumably they are all just made up. As well as the claims about which ones are uplifting and which ones are more relaxing. The strains have gotten so crossbred at this point (in an effort to keep increasing THC levels) that none of the strains from 10 years ago probably even still exist now in their original forms. They are now all hybrids of a mix of the taller Sativa plants and the shorter Indica plants and the names are only good as a reference with a vendor when wanting to buy more of a strain that you really enjoyed.
  12. Best thing is skip the vapes that use any kind of extracts or cartridges. They are illegal anyway. If you are looking to vape cannabis instead of smoke it then there are plenty of dry herb vapes available for sale now on Shopee. These are a much safer and healthier method and allow you to vape local flowers without any risk of inhaling any fake chemicals.
  13. According to a Bloomberg article that was published in mid 2022 when cannabis was decriminalized in Thailand: The combined market for medical marijuana and hemp in Thailand will expand by about 15% annually through 2025, when it’s likely to reach 43 billion baht (US$1.2 billion), creating opportunities for growers and small businesses, according to the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce. And presumably the revenue estimates have already increased.
  14. Yes, he used to wear colorful shirts covered with marijuana leaf prints and handed out over a million free plants to locals to help them grow their own. Wasn't he concerned they might take the plants and grow it for recreational purposes back then? It appears he only started talking about the "medical use only" issue after the plants and flowers were successfully removed from the illegal narcotics list and public opinion had shifted back towards a more conservative view.
  15. Agreed, a shakeout seems likely at some point. Usually occurs after any gold rush. But if the business itself remains as strong as it is now, then the shakeout could be minimal. The bigger issue is if prices are forced to become more competitive in the future because of oversupply to where many of the shops with the higher overheads can't stay afloat when the margins go lower. One shop owner recently told me they are now finding it harder to find as much local supply from growers as compared to a few months ago. Not sure if it's an increased local demand issue or if the growers are earning more by exporting it instead. Somehow it sounds like the growers are winning at the moment though.
  16. Tourists and resident expats make up at least 50% of the high priced retail cannabis market where the biggest profit margins are made. It would be too much of a loss of easy revenue to cut them out of their current easy access. If the proposed legislation actually passes to require a medical certificate then there will also be a loophole allowing possession of under 3, 5 or 10 grams without a certificate. Everyone has become so focused on the banning of recreational use, halting of sales of flowers containing above 0.2% THC and the requirement of a medical certificate and, thus thinking this will be the end of things. But they can put all those measures in place and still create a loophole allowing possession of small quantities and then nothing actually changes from the way it is now.
  17. Not to mention the alcohol and tobacco industries that are suffering from a large decrease in sales after people realized cannabis is much less costly and not harmful. If the powerful companies on the losing end weren't pushing/sponsoring all this new proposed legislation on cannabis prohibition then it wouldn't even be a thing.
  18. There is no scientific evidence that smoking cannabis causes lung cancer. But inhaling any kind of smoke on a long term basis can result in other types of pulmonary diseases. The best solution to all of this is dry herb vaping. Heats up the cannabis in a small hand-held oven without burning it and converts the cannabinoids and terpenes to a completely non-harmful gas that is inhaled. Hardly any smell too that might bother non-smokers and no release of any harmful tar or ash into the lungs or atmosphere as caused by traditional smoking/combustion.
  19. Hope they ban recreational use of alcohol and cigarettes. The wretched smell of both of them are nauseating. Not to mention the large drop we would see in domestic murders and road deaths from drink driving by banning alcohol worldwide.
  20. So the article is saying that Bangkok isn't a livable city? An after thought that's only 75 years too late. Surely they had to have thought about this every year for the last 6 decades, although never did anything about it because the financial interests don't benefit from mitigating when overdevelopment runs amok. Meanwhile, the city keeps sinking an inch per year and they keep adding millions of tons more concrete on top of the swamp anyway. In another 15 years the city could be largely under water, so that will fix all these issues stemming from the absence of any urban planning. Problem solved!
  21. "Ms. Nilakorn, now more understanding, expresses gratitude and vows to stay healthy to avoid future complications upon returning to Thailand." So it was her fault for getting sick in Thailand in the first place. Had she not fallen ill with an airborne pathogen, then none of these problems would have ever happened. Clearly she is to blame. Note to self: Electively stay healthy by choosing to only contract the flu virus before or after visiting Thailand because the hospitals there are simply too expensive. Even if I were contract the flu in Thailand, be sure to endure the symptoms and only get medical treatment elsewhere after leaving the country to avoid being at fault.
