Of course it is you dunce! It's easy to pass legislation when you only need one reading and everyone votes in favour...every...single....time. ???? (Yes, I know, there were always one or two abstentions, and three or four "no" votes to make it seem legit, but you get my point)

There have been news reports that neither part was satisfied with the Cabinet seats offered them by the pro-junta camp.
Says it all really. Why does it matter which cabinet seat you hold, since I thought all cabinet ministers receive the same fixed monthly salary. ????

The financial burden comes with the cost of having to buy new uniforms due to the fact that the students' names need to be embroidered onto them so no hand-me-downs or 2nd hand sales. I reckon rather than scrapping uniforms, scrapping the name requirement would make more sense.

Well, do the moral thing: You told your supporters you won't join the PTP/FFP coalition, so don't. You also told your supporters you don't support the Junta remaining in charge, so don't join its coalition either. Be independent opposition. Who knows, you might even gain an ounce of DEMOCRATIC credibility.

“This is the correct formula. There are no other formulas. So, we only considered this method, unless the Constitutional Court had said otherwise.”
Yet two weeks ago they were deciding which formula to use - if there was only one there would be no "which one", would there.

I wonder what the delay is with releasing the names? Maybe they keep crunching the numbers but getting the wrong result? ????

Is there any indication of when, today, they're going to announce the results?

You're absolutely right. The election must be finalised by the 9th, which is why there will be voting taking place on the 26th. I don't understand what's so confusing. It all makes perfect sense. ????

So let's be "clear" about this:
- The constituency MP's will be announced on the 7th of May.
- The court will decide if the party-list calculation method is legal and announce its findings on the 8th.
- The party list MP's will be announced on the 8th. (Regardless of whether the calculation is legal or not, because they legally have to finish the election within the 150 day time frame.
- More voting will take place on the 26th of May - just a tad after the 150 days.
Clear as mud ????

Ah, dear old bizarre Thailand...what can we say? A few months ago it was reported that Thai agencies were trying to prevent foreigners from getting weed patents because it "could lead to monopolies". Now we have the "Thai Tobacco Monopoly" applying for permission to get involved. ????

They enforce laws during Songkran?

He said the agency has yet to decide on the formula that it will use to calculate MP allocation.
Wait...what? On Sunday the EC released this information:
"The EC also insisted that there is only one formula for calculating the final number of House seats won by political parties,"

It is utterly embarrassing. Does anyone know of another country where it would take this long to release election results?
North Korea could possibly release results quicker. Sure, the results would be 100% for Kim, but considering NK citizens are only taught the number "100" at school, they'd get away with it. The Tha junta, however, have to be more creative. Well, not that much actually: Most of my family, lovers of the number "9" and critics of slightly bigger numbers, are currently decked out in yellow and saying how wonderful 10 is. The indocrtrination from birth certainly works. They're good slaves that love to be told what to wear.

Yet last week they were saying they have yet to decide which formula to use. ???? So were they lying last week or this week? Or is everything they say false?

Just now, Cadbury said:All these figures prove is that the Phalang Pracharat spent the most money of all the parties in vote buying.
Not really, it proves that even with contesting in 350 constituencies, they were only able to get slightly more votes than PT, who contested only 250 seats. Imagine if they hadn't (illegally) disolved TRC...

Just now, sjaak327 said:At the end of the day, the popular vote (even assuming the counting went honest, apparently some constituencies had more counted ballots then it had registered voters) is meaningless. It is the number of seats in the lower house that counts. So the claim is incorrect.
Also, if they want to claim that popular votes supercedes lower house seats, then the deemocratic alliance kicks their asses. Future foward came third in the popular vote and combined with the smaller parties the coalition has more votes than the Prayuth coaltion has. So actually they do have more lower house seats and more votes in total, so the democratic alliance led by PT has every right to form a government.

If the rumors are true that people had to provide ID when taking bribe money, I can believe that quite a few would have for fear of retribution.

Well, it's 4pm now and still no announcement from the EC. They managed to countr 94% of the votes in 6 hours. But since 8.30am this morning haven't been able to count the last 6%???

Turnout 65% but some constituencies had almost double the amount of votes counted compared to people registered and allowed to vote.???? Nothing to see here...move along.

When exactly will the results be known? I am confused on this issue...I thought it was supposed to be 2 months from now or something completely absurd like that...but then I read yesterday that it would by known by late Sunday.
Anyone have any clarity on this?
Unofficial results should be known today, but then the EC has 2 months to investigate any irregularities or follow up on complaints...and also look for reasons to dissolve some parties ????

The IO that gave me the list knew what I was applying for and I went back with what she requested including all the tax receipts, payment slips, company letter etc. Whatever method I used is irrelevant - They gave me a list of requirements that I duly completed and then when I returned they suddenly added more things. My point about them not knowing their own regulations still stands.
